Bring me back to the Parlor. Sounds Amazing
This Dove, simply one of the best sounding guitars I have ever had the privilege of listening to. The first strum really startled me: just amazing. The J-200 Parlor (more my size), also an amazing guitar. An outstanding demonstration of two fine guitars. Thank you.
The trans-black finish is wild. Where the grain pops it's like graphite/.
The dove detail looks really cool on the black too. It's a nocturnal effect. Romantic even.
Sounds killer too.
The J200 parlor is no slouch either.
LOVE that transparent black finish on both guitars! While the traditional colored dove is NICE, the black seems a lot more versatile re: where it'd look "at home"! 🥰 And of course the sound is undeniably rich!😍
This guitar sounds awesome, I love the Taylor 614ce to, another awesome maple guitar.
Beauty. Love that. I don't mind the pickguards on the Hummingbird and dove. I always think about who played them. The lost of people. Alex Lifeson wrote the Rush Album 2112 on a Dove. I remember reading a Guitar World interview in the 1990's with Mike McCready of Pearl Jam. The interview was in a hotel room or something and it started off with Mike McCready walking in or something like that, walks in, launches his Gibson Hummingbird into the air, it lands perfectly on the bed without damage, to the shock of the interviewer, before declaring he "loves that guitar, it's his favorite guitar". I look at the list of players. If it's good enough for Alex Lifeson, or Mike McCready, Chris Cornell, etc, etc, etc..... put some birds on my guitar please.
Sweet, another Gibson day at MusicVilla. Love both of the guitars. But the sound of the Dove is just phenomenal.

I have a Dove in natural top. That was is pretty cool in black and also sounds pretty good. Well done Music Villa, well done. Now please get some of the fancy rosewood J-200's in with all the abalone.

Isn't that S200 (from an SJ-200) what Taylor did with their 818 to the 811 (GT)? Great Sounding GIBSON guitars with the GIBSON sound. Is this the Dove in preparation for Penticost (or just good timing)? Sharp looking guitar. Since it is a MV exclusive, are you planning on doing another. How is Billings doing? What thumb pick does Quinton use
Howdy! I'm using a Herco Flat Thumbpick in a medium gauge - a little light on the pick, but enough to hang on my thumb. Can get a slightly warmer tone with a heavier gauge, but it's a little uncomfortable for me. Highly recommend them for those who like to blend up fingerstyle with some strumming and single note picking. Thanks for watching!
