Hi Natasha, I am a medium and have always been involved in the spiritualist church on and off most of my life. Spirits work in mysterious ways and at times of sadness try and comfort us. I feel this was your late partner saying he's OK and trying to reassure you you don't need to feel sad. When loved ones pass on they want us to go on living and being happy and try to connect to get the message over, hope that helps a little. I would love to hear more stories, also loved your moths

Thanks for getting in touch about this, Sue. I appreciate it. We had a strong feeling that it might be Leon (due to the timing and the fact that I'd been quite upset earlier in the day). I've had many strange experiences since Leon passed away that could only ever be related to him, but less so over the past couple of years. We do however have a very spiritually active house here, so I have several other stories, and stories of things that have happened to me when I was younger too.

Dear Natasha, as always it is absolutely interesting to see your art at work and absolutely interesting to hear what you say (with the help of the subtitled translation, fortunately, for me!). This event that you tell about, is fantastic and mysterious. Fantastic, because it carries with it so many possible messages and meanings, mysterious because none of us will ever know why it really happened, what really manifested itself at that moment in that house. I always think that anything that can be explained in a rational way, has also something else that is invisible, incomprehensible and unexplainable with logic or with the data at our disposal. And so, let's also assume that the ring was faulty, there was an electrical fault (which is very likely) we will never be able to really explain why on that very significant day, right at that moment, the conditions for which the fault arose has manifested itself. So I think the only thing is to welcome all this with reverence and wonder. In Tibet there is a magnificent expression used to point out a sudden and mysterious event, even if it is as scary as this one you have told. The expression is: Emaho! (which translates as "Wonder!"). So "Emaho!" We look at this event with grace and reverence, it is a manifestation of the invisible that occurred through matter (electricity, force, sound, the noises on the glass). Looking in the heart (as well as in the mind) the possible answers. Thanks for these shares, yours is one of the most beautiful channels on youtube! Sincere, crystal clear, and visually so many beautiful. And of course, yes, please tell we more.

It was lovely to listen to this story - like listening to an audiobook, I was gripped! I would love to hear more of your paranormal tales. I'm not a great believer in paranormal activity, but I would like to think that it was Leon letting you know he's still with you and taking care of you :)
I had a very scary experience when I was living in France on my year abroad from uni. I was living in a flat in the school I was teaching in - the only other person who lived across the corridor was the caretaker, apart from that, there were no houses or anything anywhere nearby. I was woken up at about 2am by a very loud drilling noise which sounded like someone was trying to break in through my door.
I rang my parents in England (and scared them silly, because really, what were they meant to do?), then got a kitchen knife and stood with my back against the wall next to the front door, brandishing the knife (think horror film scene style). I was absolutely petrified! Then the drilling just stopped - I stood still for absolutely ages, just listening, then went out to the balcony to see if I could see anyone. I didn't dare open the door, but I was too terrified to sleep after that. In the morning, the caretaker next door was fixing his door handle, so I can only imagine he locked himself out and drilled the lock to get back in at 2am! Not really paranormal activity but flipping scary at the time!

    • @NatashaNewtonArt
      @NatashaNewtonArt  3 года назад

That's absolutely terrifying! I was feeling very on edge whilst reading your story, wondering what was going to happen! I'm so pleased that it wasn't paranormal and was just the caretaker. 😂

I think maybe it was Leon's way of acknowledging that he was with you, and he appreciated that you had been remembering him that day. Especially since it had only been two years - a lot of the time spirit energy is attached to electricity because it's an accessible outlet. Either way, it was a great story! I'm not a scary movie person at all, I get scared too easily, but I looove personal spooky ghost stories, and big old houses. Please tell us more! And I'm definitely inspired to try some moths :) Happy Halloween!

It's interesting what you say about electricity/energy etc., because I've had some other strange things happening with batteries draining suddenly. Great spooky story, Natasha and ❤️ your moths! Old house+old wiring+mice can make strange bedfellows and spooky occurrences. One night, we heard the rather loud engine of my husband’s quite valuable vintage 1967 car running. He re-builds old cars for a hobby
and owns several. This one was parked in the driveway. He hadn’t driven it for about a week so it was all locked up. Terrified that someone was attempting to steal it, he crept outside to a spot where he could see it but would not be seen by anyone just in case there was mischief afoot and he had to call the police. There was no one around. He came inside, grabbed the keys and a flashlight and went back to the running car, still locked. He unlocked, turned it off. He lifted the hood and, with the flashlight, began inspecting the wiring. He discovered evidence of a mouse nest as well as chewed ignition wires that had caused an electrical wiring short, had bypassed the key and started the car running. So...I’m thinking maybe a mischievous mouse (or two) possibly wreaked havoc with your doorbell wiring and as it (or they) were moving around, they caused a short that made the doorbell ring and scare you half to death.

    • @NatashaNewtonArt
      @NatashaNewtonArt  3 года назад +1

Thanks Linda! When we dismantled it, it didn't look like it had been nibbled by mice, but you never know! I loved the story about your husband's car - how terrifying! So pleased that it was just mice (although I doubt your husband was pleased that they'd decided to build a nest in his lovely vintage car). 😂

Thank you Natasha, for sharing your drawing and interesting story. I enjoyed your story and drawing. My husband and I had bought our first house when we had our 2 children. Our daughter was 7 yrs old and our son was about 18 months old. Our house was built in 1850 and we bought the house in 1975. We had gone to bed and the children shared a room since it was only a 2 bedroom home, we where going to add on in the near future. They where both sound asleep in their beds and so I went into our room to settle in. I was in our bed for a few minutes and heard little feet shuffling down the hall and whispering mommy. I jumped out of bed and no one was in the hallway and I quickly went into the children’s bedroom and they where still asleep. I woke my husband up, he falls asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow and sleeps through anything and did not hear it. I could not sleep well that night and the next day I asked my neighbor who had lived in the neighborhood for a very long time if the any of the other owners had said anything about ghosts. She only knew about another house in the neighborhood that had happen, but the house was over 100 yrs old and there was a possibility. We had more strange instances that happened and we believed that we did have a spirit that we shared our house with us. We only stayed there 4 yrs and sold it due to my husband was in the Navy and was transferred to another state. We moved to Maine and now have owned a old house for over 30 yrs and we have had many strange experiences that not only the family have experienced, but visitors have also experienced. After having had many experience similar to yours I can see how frightened you where. It could have been poor wiring, but how do you explained the scratching on the windows?
Please continue sharing your drawing and stories, I find them amazing.

Wow, that's an amazing story, Gail! I would feel very unsettled after experiencing that. There are so many things that happen here that we can't explain (and believe me, we've tried!). We seem to go through periods of heightened "activity" and then it will quieten down for a while. When it happens, often we're not so much scared as bewildered/bemused, but there have been a few instances where I've been genuinely scared. It's a fascinating topic, isn't it?

Natasha, it really is a fascinating subject. My oldest grandson when he was about 3 yrs old spent the night with us at our present house and while he and I where out in the kitchen he pulled my hand and asked me who the man was while he was pointing to the wall. I did not see anything, I decided it was time to go to bed. I decided to keep him with my husband and I that night. We have had several encounters with a shadow that stands in our bedroom doorways. My mom was visiting us once and the shadow decided to stand in the doorway of her room and awoke her. You really wonder, but this isn’t a mean spirit just curious I guess. I have been watching more of your vlogs tonight and I am so in love with your work. I ordered my Holbein paint tonight and can not wait to give it a try. I do have all the sets of colored pencils so I am going to try some in those.

If you ever watch the movie Little Miss Sunshine...about halfway through the movie the horn in the vintage Volkswagen gets stuck and does something like what you described. I'm sure it was wiring shorting out or something like that. The scratching was probably a demon trying to distract you from the ghost where the cold spot was outside the door. Hahahha!

Beautiful moths, Natasha and a fascinating tale. I live in a house where paranormal activity has taken place, and I’m sure there’s more to life than may be apparent. Here, there was a person from the past ‘appearing’ in a passage, in various ways. At times there would be a very strong odour of human perspiration, always in the same exact spot, like a person who’d done heavy physical work and hadn’t yet washed. Finally one day I saw this person - a well-built man wearing a Victorian agricultural worker’s smock over his clothes. I had always felt this presence to be negative and rather threatening, so I opened the door from the passage to the kitchen, and from the kitchen to the garden, and ordered the ‘man’ to leave. I’ve never encountered him since. This house is a former chapel building, and sometimes you can still hear people singing hymns, etc. My grandfather and my mother were psychic, and I have lived with these kind of experiences for as long as I can remember. I should LOVE to hear more about your house, and to see more films like this one. Thank you so much.

Hi Natasha. I love the moths, and watching you draw them while telling such a deeply personal story was riveting.
How sad to lose someone you love from such a brief illness, it must have been utterly devastating. (Please forgive the understatement.)
From what I understand about paranormal activity from listening to many hours of credible sounding psychics and mediums, electrical and electronic devices are relatively easy for those who have passed to energetically manipulate in order to communicate, such as flashing lights or a phone ringing, so why not a doorbell especially one that's ordinarily difficult to physically push. I think it's quite possible that it could have been your Leon or possibly someone else who used to live in the house. Then again, it could have been a fault in old wiring.
I doubt that Leon would want to frighten you or cause distress.
If it were happening to me, I would consult an experienced and respected psychic or medium to see what they could pick up energetically. They might be able to tell you about anyone wanting to make contact with you or your household from "beyond the veil".
I believe there are numerous spiritualist churches and organizations in the UK.
If you have an energetic presence in your home, it might be good to know who that is.
Sorry for the long comment. I haven't had your experiences, but I have received a couple of very brief unexpected verbal messages. One interrupted my sleep telling me that I "must get up now" . By doing so, it alerted to an imminently threatening situation.
I believe that there are other realms of existence. But I don't think I'd want an uninvited trickster spirit playing games with me.
Anyway, good luck with your possible visitor(s).
I enjoy your art and was even inspired to get out my very old acrylic paints the other day. I love painting imagined landscapes and nature.
    Best wishes, Susan

My mum came upstairs and heard me talking to someone so she came into my room to see what was going on and she asked me who i was talking to. Apparently i said something along the lines of "its grandad cant you see him?" And i was going into details about war as he served in WW2 in the land army and she said it was things that i would have known absolutely nothing about. I also remember having this fear of war when i was young too up until around the age of 8ish..again i cant remember this happening at all but she said it gave her goosebumps and just made her stomach drop. I like to think he was there though as i cant remember him much since i was so young when he died❤️

Thanks for sharing this, Amy. 🧡 What a fascinating story! I love hearing things like this, as I find it somehow 'validates' the strange experiences I've had, if you know what I mean. I think that you were in touch with your great grandad after he'd passed over and he'd obviously come to visit you, as how could you know all of those details about the war? You were so young! So interesting.

Maybe a friendly spirit just wanted you to check on his parents. They just got a little impatient or frustrated. It worked anyways, right? 😌

Thank you for sharing your story.......I know I'm a bit late but I definitely think it was Leon most likely trying to keep you from going to bed with Dominic that night LOL! Just kidding! However, I do think it was Leon "incessantly" ringing the bell so you wouldn't have had any doubts that it was him letting you know he was with you! And may I say, I am so sorry for your loss but I hope that time and the love you share with Dominic has eased the pain. -xo

Where do I begin? I have seen/heard things as small child...(there use to be two little sisters who would come out of my bedroom closet at night and play with my doll house) all the way into adulthood.
I use to work as a housekeeper in an old Inn that was built in the mid 1800s and had been a Civil War Hospital here in Pennsylvania. It seemed like at least two or three times a week something odd would happen, or I would hear something that was out of the ordinary. One of the more memorable events occurred when I was on the second floor. As I was scrubbing away, it sounded like a shift in sound (sort of like when you all of the sudden have your ears pop or close up) and I very clearly heard the sound of masculine voices laughing and the clinking of glasses, then a very thin, thready cry of a small infant rose above the sound of the men and became piercing. As I said, this building was an inn, but had also been a tavern, and still operated as such. I got curious and went downstairs to see if they had a large group come in for lunch. When I looked into the dining room, there were no men at all, and definitely not a small infant. The room was filled with older ladies, there for a women’s club gathering of some sort.
I do believe in paranormal events as I have experienced so many in my lifetime to ever say they don’t happen. But I do not fear them for the most part. I have only ever felt threatened once, and will never forget that experience.
I don’t know what caused your doorbell to go crazy. The thing I find interesting is the timing of it. Like others have said, perhaps it was Leon, but who really knows? I would be interested in knowing if you had an electrician come through and check the wiring, perhaps it was faulty wiring?
I thank you for sharing your story and would be very interested to hear more, thx for sharing your moths too, your work is very inspiring x

Thank you for sharing your fascinating experiences! I totally believe you as I have heard similar things here - one example is a lady's voice that was so clear one day that I genuinely thought that Dominic's mum had come home early. She hadn't - we checked and she was still out and her car was gone from the driveway. It happened in broad daylight, in the middle of the afternoon, when I was least expecting it. And it was very loud and clear too! x
Edit: Just to add that Dominic had heard this lady's voice one day too, several months before I did. Also at around the same time in the afternoon.

@@NatashaNewtonArt that is really cool that you and Dominic both heard her! It is always nice to have confirmation that you aren’t just “hearing things”, when two people share the same experience. I know that life exists beyond what we can see, and that life can be aware of us as well. My belief in that was confirmed the day that I heard a voice call my name while I was alone in the inn, a totally unfamiliar female voice, very clearly called Jo Anne!
Would love to hear more, Natasha, you are such a good storyteller X

Really enjoyed this spooky story. I have experienced a doorbell incident a little like this, it was some years ago, late on a dark rainy night. Our wireless doorbell started ringing for no reason. It was quite a wild and rainy night as I remember and as it was just myself and my Mum in the house (my Dad passed away a couple of years before) it was a little scary. I took the battery out of the bell and that ended that. If it had gone on afterwards that would have been quite something else! I have experienced a few spooky moments though, one was at the Needles battery on the Isle of Wight. Myself and my boyfriend heard strange sounds that were like a ww2 radio broadcast while peering into the world war II site there. It was such an eerie experience that we were both a little shaken by it. I've never been able to explain that one. Lovely drawings Natasha, I do enjoy your work and your video channel. I've been enjoying your podcast as well. Thank you.

There's something so scary about a doorbell ringing and no-one being there when you open the door! Loved your Isle of Wight story, and completely believe you because we've experienced many different sounds in the house from a woman's voice (as clear as anything - we've both experienced it at different times), doors slamming, footsteps, children giggling. It sounds super spooky but a lot of these have happened during the day, and it's more baffling than anything else. It's like an echo from the past. Anyway, it's interesting that both you and your boyfriend heard it - I always think that it gives more credence to whatever is happening if you both experience it. And thank you - I'm so pleased that you're enjoying my channel and the podcasts! :)

I've recently discovered you beautiful channel and enjoying watching each video. Although this was uploaded a while ago, I just wanted to tell you that in Japan, where I live, August is the month when your beloved diseased family members come back to this world and stay for a couple of days with you. So, as a Japanese, we would think in the event like this, "oh, they're here, yay!" However, your beloved seems very active and energectic and definitely musical :)

When I saw your house in one of your vlogs I immediately thought I bet it is haunted!! Curiously my mum has just moved into a new home and she keeps her front gate pad locked. We installed a doorbell for her at the gate which has periodically begun to go off on its own. Her husband died a little oved a year ago and I cant help but think it is paranormal too... the bell has two settings or rings to choose from and every time it rings on its own, it is the other ringtone!

It's always interesting when things like this happen, as we can never be sure whether it's paranormal or not. We couldn't find a reasonable explanation for the doorbell activity, and the fact that it coincided with the anniversary makes it even more strange! I'm so sorry to hear about your mum's husband. I hope she's doing ok. 🧡

I don’t think it was a paranormal activity. Probably the button got stuck too close to the contact. With the normal daily contraction/expansion of the house, the contacts would touch and ring the bell. You had mentioned that the hallway was noticeably cooler than the rest of the house, that could have caused the contraction/expansion that would make the contacts touch. Old houses tend to have drafts or drafty windows.

Your Moths are splendid, I like the softness of the pencils and your choice of color is great. I liked that you layered the pale pink under the brown, great idea.
I heard your story and believe that there is someone trying to reach out, my feeling is that it is somebody friendly, maybe a deceased that lived there from beyond the 3rd generation. They want you to know that they are happy that you are taking care of their house; they would love to enter but they can’t, they know and accept that it is yours now. Well ... this is what’s coming to my mind.
I’d love to hear your other stories.
As for myself, I live near Montreal, Canada, I am 68 years old now and all my life, I have witnessed these paranormal encounters, some quite incredibles. I can always feel when there is a « guess » in a house. Most of the times I can explain to them why it’s not their place and help them to move on. I have travelled a lot around the world (I was a Flight Director for over 20 years) and I can tell you that I was really, really scared on Samos Island in Greece once and I had some encounters to on the Acropolis and in the little village of Fontainebleau, in France, as well as in Brighton -yes ! - in GB.
Anyway ... I love following you on IG (I am there la_fourmi_gribouilleuse ) and here. You inspire me, I like your soft voice and I love all of your work.
Hope my English is good because my mother tongue is French.
    Have a great week !

I'd definitely like to hear them! Take care. :)
