RIP Sixto. You were one of a kind.
Saw him on stage in Sydney in the 1980s. Just the man and his guitar. Brilliant.
Fabulous Rodriguez... South Africans absolutely loved his album during the 80's. Bought the album. Covered some of his amazing songs at my gigs. What a brilliant artist. I can barely listen to the ra ra music that is out in the market these days. So many superb musical artists of great integrity like him never make it into the public arena. What a great loss. So happy 2 South African producers seized Rodrigues from total obscurity and produced a film about him. He is truely amazing.
We were passing his albums around growing up in the 90's in S.A. I wonder was the first song I learned how to play on bass.
Many of us can't imagine these years without Sixto and his music and now he's gone but he'll always be with us. Rest peacefully Sixto.
The story about Sugarman is unbelievable, and he is as cool as it gets.
sixto is alway coming in from reality. great man , great music
Awesome story behind the man and the songs...Thanks for sharing..luv it
So glad I got to see you perform in Seattle. ❤
What a cool song, man and story! Thanx...
He's simply fantastic!
In your material poverty, you were spiritually rich.
In your loneliness, you were loved.
Your wisdom, depth of philosophy and exceptional humility all make you one of the most remarkable human beings.
Of your many beautiful songs, this one - 'I Wonder' is my very favourite. I first heard it as a young man years ago, and it evokes a lot of nostagia in me.
You were truly phenominal, Rodriguez. Rest in peace, for your life's mission was remarkably achieved.
Beautifully said. Amen to that!
I concur ... he was certainly a lovely talented soul ... cheers
Thank you ❤
de lo bueno poco, decia mi abuela,
los milagros existen;

Descansa en Paz, Maestro.
((LIMA - PERÚ))
watch the documentary searching for sugar man, beautiful
Absolutely awesome!!!
thank you
@@Douglaxcafearabica Watch it again
Yes it is 👍
I have no words!
I had both his Albums Remastered into a compilation as the recording of Sixtos Coming From Reality Album was so poorly recorded.Lost 40 seconds of the last track.Which was a not a great loss for such a great listen. Not one of the 20 plus tracks was average. All of it was, like the man, absolute platinum quality.
Un Mexicano chingon!!!!
Brutal 😊😊
RODRÍGUEZ LEGEND! Y LOVE...
Mitico
I will do better…in, everything!!!

| wonder about the lies
It's so dang sad his career was robbed..
Snoepjes zijn op
Man that's a bad ass venue. Big Sky support band was way better than this one.
hey man, he play's in the sixties, his lyrics are wondefool
One of the best and most heartbreaking bios I have ever seen South Africa recognized his greatness long before everyone else !
God Speed Sixto , thank you for bringing peace and I understanding to earth , and I’m one of those your songs inspire in this life .
I did some painting for a guy in 1993 , and the guy got arrested for something and did like a year in jail , and never paid me what he owed me. It amounted to about $ 1100 .00 . When he got out he moved to another state. But the fact that decades have gone by doesn't change the fact that he owes me the money. And the same goes for the record company that owes Rodriguez. He's making serious cabbage playing gigs now but he still should get paid his royalties .
And with the US being such a litigious society he will win. It was pretty telling in the sugar man film when the record label owner was being interviewed. He got incredibly defensive when asked about where the money was going
@@simonoregan4744 some people are just like that, they don't have it in them to demand what they're worth.
What a legend. Love as always from South Africa 🇿🇦
Oui 😊
Absulutely! Forty years ago, I was one of the young people in South Africa simply loving his music... still do 🇿🇦
I love him
Thank you South Africa for re-introducing this wonderful human being to the world for a second time in his life.
A beautiful soul, with the most amazing talent! His story is heartbreaking, but inspiring at the same time! Hope he gets the guy who stole his royalties!
Gracias Sudáfrica por mantenerlo vivo 👌
Everyone here should watch the documentary. You'll have a different feeling listening to these songs after.
indeed, i wonder how can this beautiful soul stay so calm, nice, humble, and nobody in the USA knows about him.. I love the documentary..so beautiful
Absolutely, but he could’ve done without that opening joke
@@andrewvoros4037 where is Mickey at these days chap? Care to share? This was 7 years ago Karen…
@@danilo6680 Mickey is home taking care of a litter of goofy pups pretending there his. Minnie on the other hand ran off with Pluto this time
Absolutely - "Looking for Sugarman" was it? It was the first I heard of him. It was very moving.
He was always popular in North Queensland Australia through the 70s and 80s. Lots of us kids had Cold Fact and he got heaps of airplay on local radio.
I'm a Queenslander listened to Rodriguez all my life. 55 now. He's a legend. Love his work and humanity.
Another Queenslander here, I will always remember the first time I heard him on the radio......still can't get enough of him!💞
65 now cold fact was a stapel here in Oz...good blast from the past ...legend 😊
Love this man. Watched the doco and he is by far my fav singer and person ♥️
I often wonder how some great people can be so way down to earth.
These songs are my daily dose of getting high.
I Wonder... too
He has an original way of playing guitar, and is a Road (RHODE) scholar of life. I bow in respect.
Wow... what an artist....loads of talent and oh so humble....God bless you Sixto Rodriguez.....👍❤😊
Hes a legend, a role model for ALL.... ESPECIALLY those highly successful elites...... This MAN has more humanity than all of you put together....God bless you Rodriguez.merry Christmas brother.
Awesome story behind the man and the songs check it out
I have years ago.. I love his music 🎶
Increíble música e increíble historia detrás de Rodríguez. Love his music.
I am so very grateful to have seen "Searching for the Sugar Man" - a very moving documentary, which prompted me to fly to Seattle to see Rodriquez live. Brilliant concert in a small venue and one of my favorite highlights in life. Sixto was lovely, gentle, grateful, humble and a very talented man. I pray that the last few years of his life allowed him to see how much he was appreciated and loved. Fortunately, I live near Detroit and visit his neighborhood frequently....which he is honored by a huge mural....long live the spirt of the Sugar Man!
Nice ... I was aware of him in in the early '70's whilst working at Decca records and shipping loads of albums to SA and Australia.... cheers
WHY DO I ALWAYS GET GOOSEBUMPS WITH THIS GUY'S SINGING.. BEAUTIFUL GOES TO MY SOUL
Because the substance of Mr. Sixto's songs was relevant when he wrote them, still relevant today and will be 1 million years from now - it speaks to the soul.
Cos he's so darn talented and sexy.
Amazing story and it won an academy award. So talented and so smooth, amazing lyrics takes me back in time.
Greatest Real Story i ever knew
In South Africa everyone knew his music ❤

One of the greats. The story of his relationship with South Africa is the stuff of legend.
You are the best! Can’t believe I didn’t hear of you until I was 60! Wow! Gracias Senior!🙏
I'm 53 , and only heard of him about a month ago . Keep wondering how i gone through life not hearing of him
DESCANSA EN PAZ GRAN SUGAR MAN....GRACIAS POR TU MUSICA
Beautiful music!!Thanks for posting.
R.I.P. Sixto and thx for the wonderful music!!!
That bass is bad ass...
Bass line created on the original recording by Bob Babbitt, the legendary Motown Funk Brother.
a working philosopher...
never seen a guitarist with such graceful gestures ... especially because he worked hard as a worker all his life! ...the voice as melodious as the gestures, a man in agreement with himself ... that it feels good!

Damn awsome .....Rodriguez is a musical god , beautiful lyrics.

Sixto ur the greatest
Merci.
I wish the intro was longer like his 1st performance in 1998
Unbeleivable story.
Magnifique ! j'adore ...
Jose Feliciano and Bob Dylan rolled into one
A lot of ppl dont even deserve to be in the crowd.
His joke at the beginning was funny, but the audience didn't understand because in French the character is not called Goofy, but Dingo. An amazing artist anyway!
He has just passed on... August 8, 2023....®®®
yah i just heard, never heard of him ever, nnow i am so intrigued to know more.
Beutifull Music, I had this Mans Cassete in the 80*s
Six to is a super cool cat, and that's a cold fact.
41 dislikes you know nothing about music.
Fucking good. Keep rocking
Where and what is the name of this venue?? Very cool spot!
Vienne, France - the Roman ampitheatre
The sound man on that concert should have been sacked
A Clip from the 2012 Documentary ‘Searching for Sugar Man’ has a hidden humorous side:
My wife answered the phone at one-o’clock in the morning because it was on her side of the bed.
Exhibiting a look of awe while pointing at the head-set, she mimes to me “It’s H-I-M!”
I dash to the study phone and pick up the Caller saying,
“Hello, is that Sugar?”
no repost man.
Rodriguez "...that's a Cold Fact!"
Can they find this man a band that doesn't look like they want to die? That'd be lovely..
All recognition to great Sixto Rodríguez,he didn't he sell his sold 🎉🎉🎉🎉 thats mainly why he was shone 😢💛💛💛💛💛💛💛 a golden mind and heart💛
Actually think it was his management and promotional team that screwed him over and he wasn't at the time so bothered ... I was employed by Decca records in the UK and a fair few albums were sent to South Africa and Australia then bootlegged. The result was he became quite famous with the USA not really being aware of the movement... cheers ... if you haven't already please watch the movie searching for sugar man ... very interesting
@@BraveheartOBM saw the pic ,and I appreciate your answer,Viva Sixto 😍
I literally give up in life…
haunting progression on …sugerman...
Really great guy
Well this Kid is fantastic!!! I wonder what he is doing right now? Working on a project with Jim Morrison and Willie Nels...... wait What?
AND where you can buy any of his two Records? For me it is a surprise that you cannot anywhere these Records, not at all anywhere only here on you tube. It is a Shame.
Right on !!! Love this song
Amazing Artist 😎💜
Thanks Rodriguez for the good vides and reality checks
Stereo sounds great
I watched his documentary 4 years ago and that's how I discovered this song.
