It depends what exactly job you mean. Vacuum lines replacement, or entire system rebuild, including vacuum components replacement. The GOOD news: access to parts for replacement is quite easy. The BAD news: some of OEM parts are not available for purchase anymore.
If I put a custom intake and delete the value chambers and what not on the intake u shaped tube and just run a long line to the heater valve it should be fine right?
In my opinion it still would be worth to keep vacuum chamber connected even with custom intake system. As vacuum chamber works as a vacuum accumulator and reduces vacuum level pulsation overall vacuum system when engine RPMs changes.
