    Mixing your warm/orange foundation with blue is so genius!! I didn't even think to use color theory for that. I've been trying to figure out why neutral and warm foundations never looked good on me and recently discovered I'm fair warm olive. I now use the About Face F2 Olive foundation but girl, I have like 4 other foundations that I didn't know what to do with and now I can finally use them up as long as I get a blue to mix them with. I also love the bronzer recommendations cause my bronzers pull too orange and I just use a taupe eyeshadow over top to neutralize them. Thank you!!!

    I appreciate this! I am strongly suspecting I have light olive skin (more tanned in the summer months), but I am not 100% sure yet. I can see a slight green tint to my skin, as well as a lot of yellow (especially in the winter when I am quite pale). I'm not fair, but light. I don't burn easily and have always tanned well (though I live in Canada and so I'm often without much sun for long periods of time). I am getting into makeup again and I cannot seem to find a foundation that is right for me.... it's always too pink, too orange, or too yellow. My veins are mostly green, with some blue and purple. I have medium-dark brown hair, and hazel/brown eyes (my eyes are two different colors, one is brown and the other hazel with a weird patch of lighter blue at the very bottom...yet most of the time they appear dark). So, this undertone business has been quite confusing to me LOL.

  • @screamtoasigh9984
    @screamtoasigh9984 Год назад +1

    I'm very confused how this (pale olive skin) is different from neutral shades for redheads? Because that's what it looks like you are trying to do. Why don't you just add white foundation to whatever product you choose instead of color correcting? Maybe make a video with white foundation vs. using the correcting because it seems like excess work to use blue and green. (ALso please put your best matching shades without correcting in your description so people can know before they watch the video.. Because as I mentioned, it literally looks like you have a similar shade or same shade as myself, a ginger... (the closest shade I've ever found is Mac W10 - it was a concealer though sooo.... ). I can do Maybelline N100 if I add white base... The nyx drops in palest shade is the right color but shockingly slightly too pale on me. (Nars Siberia is slightly too yellow but works as a concealer..). the OG laura Mercier tinted moisturiser was great too.. not made anymore.

    • @lindseymunette
      @lindseymunette  Год назад +6

      I’m a bit confused by this but answering to the best of my ability, I don’t add white to my foundations if the depth of them match the own depth of my skin, unless I have something that is too dark in which case I will add white. Olive skin can actually have neutral, cool, warm, and green tones in it unlike just neutral tones. Neutral foundations usually = neither cool nor warm, a balance of both. But since olive skin had a greenish hue, these undertones usually don’t match us. Because of all these factors olive skin has tons of variations, which is why it may be hard to tell on camera the actual undertone of my skin. And I do have a link in the description of my best matching foundations, without added color correction 😊

    • @JH-kw8zy
      @JH-kw8zy Год назад +4

      Hi, I'm a fair olive toned red head! The thing that makes us olive is that our skin has a green hue to it. So usually we buy the right shade in a yellow undertone foundation and mix blue to make green undertone foundation because olive toned foundation is nearly non-existent. You might add white to any foundation because it's too dark but if the undertone isn't green it still doesn't look right. I myself use NARS light reflecting foundation in Oslo with a tiny bit of blue to cancel out the pinkness and a good bit of yellow and that makes it olive toned and when I blend it into my neck (which is what I match my foundation to) it completely disappears because it's now the right shade AND tone. As a fellow red head I highly recommend the LA Girl mixing pigments (the big bottles, not tubes) and getting white, yellow, and blue. You can make ANY foundation match with those. Also check out Redhead Revolution for lipsticks and mascaras. Hope that makes sense and helps!

    • @screamtoasigh9984
      @screamtoasigh9984 Год назад

      @@JH-kw8zyI didn't see your notifications, sorry for late response, thank you!! Yes as you might be able to tell from my avatar, ginger.. And you know the drill, they can't ever match you, everyone is confused then they argue if gingers are cool or warm. Or say we're warm in the summer or something like that.
      I use "white foundation" by hard candy to mix into foundations . I had at one point got it custom made, before that I could do mac w10 (concealer) as foundation (for evening, clubbing and such), but I honestly have stopped wearing more than tinted moisturizer most of the time because it's such a bxcfg pain.. I have been mixing a neutral with a warm foundation and then adding white to it .
      I think RUclips realised this because I started getting pale olive recommendations!
      Lipstick is less of an issue (3 custom colour will shade match.. ❤ Muted neutral dusty rosy mauves...)
      , I would use them for foundation, they'll custom match a discontinued shade but it would require ever finding a shade that matches -I'm sure you guys know the drill... Laura mercier used to have one ages ago I'm lazy though so I haven't tried anything new). I totally want to try rmc foundation. They look like they have some potential matches and dior now has warm olive. If you find anything please let me know.
      (I have seen the redhead mascara but it doesn't seem impressive aside from color. It looks like clear mascars does.. Have you tried it? Their foundations are insanely dark I can't figure it out- who are they marketing to?
      Thanks again!

    This is very misleading for "olive green skin". Since olive can lean more cool or warm. I am neutral/warm dark autumn. I can pull some colors from deep winter. BUT not the lighter colors. Gray , pastels, and pink I HATE. I look ill, bruised etc. In future videos you might want to say , you are a soft summer, neutral/cool etc ... Or whatever color you are. Because I personally can't use much of what you recommended. Besides the color correctors. I am glad you made a video about olive green skintone. But people need more info.
