Thank you for watching !
It’s quality over quantity at BHX , what a catch . Cherish the times , this movement will be talked about for years to come .
I agree with you David , taken me a while , but BHX is definitely a quality over quantity airport 👍
Absolutely incredible!
747F, A380, and the 707, all at BMX today!
707 has a very distinctive engine sound. Also, it was this jet that started the jet age as well as the British jets.
I'm sure you were pleasantly surprised!
Thank you Fredrick , a day none of us will ever forget . BHX really put on a show yesterday , i am still scraping my jaw off the floor 👍
@@AirportAction You performed your usual excellent captures despite the fog. Great job as always Kev!
@@richardpopielarz8526 Why would you say that? Do you have any information that none of us have?
707 vs stretch DC8 now there's noise :))
@@richardpopielarz8526 no it's a tanker aircraft, sorry to disappoint.
I shouted at the telly, ""it's a KC 135 Kev!!" What a treat that was! 👍
🤣🤣 I couldn't believe my eyes Brian when it burst through the clouds 👍
Reminded me of the film "Airport "!🎥
It's a 707-300C a KC-135 is different.
@@alistairscott137 Thought it was KC135 USAF!
Nope, 707 of the Israeli Air Force diverting from Mildenhall.
Good to see these Beautiful 707s still flying, definitely one of the most successful aircraft in aviation history without a doubt 😍😍
Couldn't agree more! 👍
This particular aircraft has an amazing career. Started as Egyptian late president Saadat's "airforce one" in which he arrived to isreal on his historic peace visit in 1977. It's in IAF service since 2004
That is crazy , i was 1 yrs old during that peace visit , and still the aircraft graces the skies wow. 👍
Did Sadat forget to take it home? How did it make the switch?
@@nitramnitram1966 It changed hands, obviously. The IAF bought it in 2004 from Omega Air, an Irish company and converted it to a tanker with a refueling boom etc.
What an absolutely amazing sight, appearing out of the mist/fog. I am not surprised that you were breathing quite heavily! I would have been down on the floor!
Wow that was really special, the sound of the engines , you knew straight off it was something different
Thank you Jill , really caught me off guard , the sight , the sound , just incredible 👍
I did even know 707s were still flying. What a great catch.
Wow wow wow is all I can say ! What a screamer of a plane. The way it burst through the clouds just before landing was scary ! We’ve seen some awesome massive planes land at BHX the last couple of days and that’s thanks to your amazing dedication Kev standing out in the freezing cold so we get to see these fantastic aircraft at BHX.
I don’t understand BHX, if these massive planes can land on our runway then why won’t BHX get some other big Airlines in every day, increase the destinations instead of people having to go to East Midlands or Manchester to fly to their destination ??
Thank You so much Airport Action for all the very hard work you put into bringing streams for us, the fabulous community to watch and re-watch every day. Thanks Kev & Michelle.
Thank you Marie , the big problem with BHX is that it's too close to both MAN and LHR to compete . The infrastructure at BHX is not really there either to make it an all swinging airport like the above mentioned. BUT the airport on a whole is doing very well , November was the first month since Covid to better the passenger through put , with 2723 departures during those 30 days. 2024 is looking like it MIGHT be a record breaking year for BHX 👍
Wow that is fantastic, one of my favourites' of all time. I have not seen a 707 in quite a few years.
Once in a lifetime catch, nice !
Great catch Kev. It's a refueling tanker. Built as a 707-366C and delivered to Egyptair in 1974.
Thanks Dan , a stunning sight and that screaming sound as it came over me was just incredible 👍
Tanker, but also fitted for Pax and freight transport.
KC-135 equivalent
As a flight engineer, i remember getting down to lower 41 to extend the landing gear manually. Those days were rough. I miss 707 though😢
I flew over 2000 hours on the 707's in the 80's, impressive aircraft. We used them for all kinds of missions including air to air refueling
What an amazing live stream, a380, 747 and 707 in one day!!
Thank you Ethan , it was a special day for BHX , one i will never forget 👍
Special delivery right there Kev. What a moment! Gutted I wasn’t there!
Thanks Daz 👍
Just heard a mention of your channel on Airliners Live!, guys told how this came to be in the livestream, good catch in the last second!
Well done Kev . Can't recall too many 707s at BHX back in the day . Great stuff as always.
Super rare to see a 707 at BHX , thank you Brandon 👍
Holy moly. Amazing catch Kev!
Thank you @flyc3 👍
Wow ! you don't see that every day!... very cool .. ✈
It was meant to arrive into Mildenhall but it was too foggy and had to divert, I was at Mildenhall waiting for it gutted it didn’t come in. At least you got to see it. Was going to divert to Manchester but they would not accept because they had hazardous cargo ie weapons/ammo that they picked up from the states. It left Isreal on Thursday 30/11/23 afternoon and arrived at Mildenhall at 23:30 then departed to Dover air base at 01:30 1/12/23. here, she is coming back from Dover, she then departed BHX at 19:00 2/12/23 back home.
Thank you for the info @Mildenhall_Planespotter , just curious as to why MAN refused it landing there , but BHX said yes ? Considering they are both civvy airports 👍
@@AirportAction it has explosives on board
I understand , but still don't understand why BHX is ok with explosives but not MAN ?@@Mildenhall_Planespotter
@@AirportAction I’m not sure because I don’t know much about both airports but I would assume because Manchester has more people but more importantly Birmingham must have somewhere better for it to park away from commercial areas.
Wonder why it didn't land at an active RAF airport instead of a civilian airport.
bloody hell mate! Love it! I'm 10 miles away in Cov! I thought the only way of getting a view like that was on the number 11 bus! IHow do you get a view of 33 like that?! Great capture though. I remember at the beginning of the war between Ukraine and the madman, I'd hear so many so many AN aircraft buzzing overhead at 10k feet, and my god they're loud! Great content mate
I saw it on ADS-B exchange over London. Didn’t know it came this way though. Cracking catch and video of it coming out the fog in surprise 😄
Fabulous the 707 an icon of an aircraft the smoke & roar of the engines and a rare visit by the IAF incredible catch love the comments too
Thank you for putting this up, I just tuned in to your channel as it was at the end of the runway. That was Specky😂
You are welcome Brenton , the 707 is a stunning sight to see and hear 👍
Good smooth landing 🛬
That is one spooky looking aircraft! Great filming👌
Oh wow, what a sight!! Love those smoky engines
The smokey engines are awesome Sarah , i am still in shock 👍
What a catch this was. That noise 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed the clip Simon 👍
A certain Manchester airport based channel (AL) have just mentioned this on their channel... Saying what an awesome spot it was. 👍👍👍👍👍
Wow, what a catch!!
Really first jet era!!
Wow amazing to hear the 707. a lost superstar
Awesome and thanks for sharing!
Thank you Michael 👍
Beautiful noise. Great the way it came out of the fog.
Interesting, I wonder what they're up to. Very stealth looking. A nice bit of filming Kev.
Lovely little glidepath correction on breaking cloud, great catch !!!
Glad you enjoyed it Tony 👍
Brilliant few minutes of video. Was tracking this form the US hoping to get a few pics of landing at Mildenhall. Then the divert. Right place right time for you and us. "It nearly took my hat off" wonderful 😂😂
Thank you Paul 👍
Great catch!! It was going to Mildenhall but the weather was below limits there. Asked for Manchester but they wouldn't take it...
Hope ur well Kev.Another fantastic stream
Thank you Anthony , appreciate the support 👍
The old screaming smoker. Gotta luv the 707 folks.
Caught me completely off guard Tom , using FR24 that day it was not on there , and was a diversion intended for Mildenhall , then through the clouds , a screaming 707 👍
Brilliant, great catch 👏
Wow, congratulations on an amazing catch. Even if it did "surprise you".
Thank you Nick 👍
Awesome catch as always. Wonder if it's related to the conflict? Congrats on 20k by the way! I wasn't there to celebrate, unfortunately 😔
Thank you planesarecool 👍
A fine catch , total one-off.
I flown on the civilian version in 80' decade several times. High noise but good!
That's amazing , what a great memory for you to have 👍
Looks all too British, that particular runway with the ups and downs and a all too familiar graveyard at the end!! 😳Nice jumbo jet too.
Very special catch! Very nicely filmed!
Thank you very much! 👍
1:34 that car is fast😁
Beautiful capturing ❤
🤣
707 is the best aircraft Boeing ever built❤
Wow, the whistling engines sounded like a B-52 flying over.
Even with the bad weather that was an amazing stream yesterday Kev
Thank you JJ , really appreciate the support 👍
*Great Catch 🛬*
Does this IAF Boeing 707 'Re'em' have the RR Conway or PW JT Turbojets. (Smoky).
Great rare catch!.
Think the engines need a clean 😂😂.amazing catch
amazing catch!!!
Thank you Dawn , a very rare treat for us all at BHX 👍
Out of curiosity is that runway flat or am I seeing like waves in it
It is flat. Well no airport has totally flat runways. That is 3km long and the "waves" you see are just 2-3 meters. You can not really see it without filming it like this, from far away using zoom.
Amazing!
This bad boy is up over the Gaza coastline at the minute. Doing loads of erratic circles out to sea, wonder what its up to!?
thaty must be one of the rarest and luckiest sights! Excellent. Maybe an undercover transfer of troops?
Hi Keith , it was a very sight indeed , a diversion that was supposed to land at Mildenhall , but thick fog forced it to divert to BHX.
Will it receive the low emission zone surcharge notice from the council? Almost as bad as a B52 Stratofortress. 😎😇
Great video, Kev!
Thanks Rob 👍
Amazing, not seen a 707 since the 1970s . What are the chances?
Think it took off around 7-45 in the evening. No destinatin details.......it certainly sounded like it was a 7 (in the fog) as it climbed out overhead going south
Hi Ross , you are correct it did leave last night 👍
You don’t see that every day in the middlands
👍
Epic.
Half of a B52 and sounds like one too!
When jets sounded like jets.
Lovely
gota be on important sortie...btw why the runway is sloping.not like the normal flat terrain
I'm I the only one thinking what's that doing in UK when things are on edge out there and middle east umhh😮😮
A 707 ? For a country getting billions off the US and the airforce have old plans dating back 50 plus years
What time was it at? Trying to see it on flight radar.
It was not on FR24 only ADSB
😂was holding trying to land at Mildenhall, diverted due to fog.
What's the registration of the aircraft?
295
That's soo crazy
Why is the runway not flat?
Departed Mildenhall for Dover AFB the day before.
That's a KC-135E. I used to fly them.
707-300C not a KC-135E .
is that an air to air refueling boom at the back of the plane
Yes it is , well spotted 👍
more on the way i think
WOW 👍
Did he say it was not on radar at the start of the video?
Not on Flight Radar 24 , a free to use app 👍
Wonder what it was picking up ?
Hi MrMeadfoot , it was not picking up or dropping anything at Birmingham , it was diverted in , due to the thick fog at Mildenhall ( it's original destination ) it couldn't land there 👍
It's a tanker for refueling jets.
But also in use as passenger and cargo plane like in this instance
Jet A-1 for their Air Force to drop bombs on babies?
@@monkmodemalik8225 great. And here I thought this was an aircraft channel, not a political one 🤔
Why is the Israeli air force landing at Birmingham airport in a time when they are at war
It was suppose to land at Mildenhall , but got diverted to BHX due to fog 👍
Storage ?
Originally going to Mildenhall , but due to thick fog , it got diverted to Birmingham Airport , it departed later in the evening. 👍
Why?
Wonder what cargo he had come to collect?
Collected its cargo in the States and was due for a fuel stop at Mildenhall. Couldn't land there because of the fog and had to divert.
Thanks for that
WTH? Where are all the roundels? Is this supposed to be a pirate tanker? It doesn’t meet international ID standards.
Awesome
8.7/ 10 on the landing. Would expect better from IAF!
Couldn't they have just exited to the left instead of going all the way round and back across?
And did we give the IAF our hand-me-down ol' 707s? How bout some upgrades from us?
There's no taxiway at the end of the runway on the left, only the right.
@@EightPawsProductionsHD Oh, bollocks!
@@clqudy4750that’s a naughty word rude word go to the naughty step I’m telling Father Christmas 🤣😂🤔⁉️
We have never had 707s in service, plus the 707 is probably better than what's around today that's why they have lasted.
@@sue-annthandy5387 Right! Sorry! What I meant to say was 'bolixs up'! BHX certainly makes a muck of taxiing aircraft! (Any better or am I still getting coal in me stocking?)
Landing to do what???
Diverted to BHX , for a re-fuel 👍
Its picking up more desperately needed ammunition?
It was diverted from Mildenhall due to thick fog , it was going there originally for a refuel 👍
Great catch! ✈️✈️❤
Pls pin im first
how can you get breathless by just sitting and recording
Easily when it's freezing, or if you have respiratory issues or both. Think before you type.
medical issues
How can you start a sentence in a lower case letter ??
Who sits ?
When i stream , i am on my feet the entire time i am live. Also the medication i am on since having a heart attack affects me from time to time.
Thank you Linda 👍
Thanks EightPaws 👍
