    To think Peavey could have had EVH, Satriani, and Lynch as endorsees, and now none, is heartbreaking.

    My amp is rated @ 120 watts. It also has hi and lo gain inputs. And it used JJ EL 34’s until now. One tube lost vacuum and smoked the 5A ceramic mains fuse. Putting EH EL34’s in it and see what it sounds like. I was using this amp thru 2-2x12 cabs and never cared for the sound, but I didn’t look what speakers the ADA cabs use - maybe Celestion classic 30’s. Plugged it into my Marshall 4x12 cab and had a totally different sound - it came alive. To my ears the treble and presence controls are waaay to bright and shrill once you start turning them up, but the tone controls seem to be active rather than passive. I will have to look at the schematic - ifI can find one. Been looking but not much out there. I still prefer my Marshall DSL100H over this amp though.
    One thing I like about this amp that the Marshall doesn’t have is the level controls on the effects loop. If you turn up the output level, you can get a nice volume boost for leads by stepping on the foot switch FX loop with no effects running thru it.

    i did some reading into it after. he got pissed they delayed the peavey jsx 50. he said they gave him the run around. he saids they kept saying its coming its coming its coming and he felt like they diddnt really care. just as he was backing out the jsx 50 was gearing up to come out they had it at a namm show and everything then he signed with marshall so peavey scrapped it

  • @NotAnotherSatchFan

    Crazy when you think that time Joe Satriani still has strong relationship with Peavey engineers. There is a website with his interview saying Peavey becomes unresponsive with the new JSX 50W project while in coincidence trying out a Marshal amp in a studio.
    Still a great amp and I thought the JSX looks better on him.

    A really late response, but I guess the answer that we can come up for this is that: Joe said he was always a Marshall guy, and as soon as Marshall offered to make him an amp he dumped Peavey... It really upsets me, I have a JSx 120w head, and I love it so much. Does anything I want it to, but sad that Joe left Peavey.

    It just came out...and it fucking blows. Horrible clean channel, lacks bottom end, too much treble - just too harsh and compressed even though Joe claims they removed the compression from the gain channels. I much prefer the JSX.

  • @mav5150
    @mav5150 12 лет назад

    Probably that horrible clean chanel works good for Satch, and probably that lack of bottom is enough bottom for Satch,,,,great guitar players can tame their own amps,,,
