Great interview. He's such a genuine, down to earth guy. I had the honour of meeting him once, I was on my way to work when I heard over the radio that he was doing a meet and greet in my city - so I skipped work and drove over to meet Joe. I had nothing for him to sign and had no idea what I was going to say to him, but he gave me loads of free stuff, autograph and made me feel at ease. Top guy.
I met him twice, once for two interviews back to back. It's always awkward when you're translating ( I was doing French to English and back) when the guy next to you is asking silly questions. This interview looks a bit awkward but mostly because of the mic being held out like that.
Satriani worked as a guitar instructor, and some of his former students have achieved fame such as Steve Vai, Larry LaLonde, Rick Hunolt, Kirk Hammett, Andy Timmons, Charlie Hunter, Kevin Cadogan and Alex Skolnick. Satriani has been a driving force in music credited to other musicians throughout his career, as a founder of the G3 tour, as well as performing in various positions with other musicians.
Fantastic!!! Well done Robin and Brad that was a great interview. Satch loves to talk, and you asked all the right things so that he spoke very naturally. That was so enjoyable xxxx
Satriani has mastered all performance techniques on electric guitar, including legato, two-handed tapping and arpeggio tapping, volume swells, harmonics and extreme whammy bar effects. Satriani is considered to be a technically proficient guitarist, and has been referred to as a guitar virtuoso. Satriani created his own recognizable style and is an influential guitarist. He has received 15 Grammy nominations and has sold over 10 million albums worldwide.
Hey! I have seen relatively longer interviews with satch but this quite is quite special with new and interesting questions. Thanks of course goes to you, please keep going :) Greetings from Egypt.
How in the world does he do it?! He's standing there shredding and talking at the same time. He's not even thinking about his playing, but I bet if you plugged him into an amp, he would blow your mind - as usual. But yeah... not even thinking about his guitar, he can blow a lot of players out of the water.
Martin Landart I hear ya, man. It borders inspiring and discouraging. Simultaneously makes me wanna practice more and just lay the guitar down for good.
I was just listening to Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons." When I got to 'Winter' I realized this would be PERFECT for Joe to play - all the fast violin solos, etc. He has the skill. He should be backed NOT by an orchestra (it's always lame when hard rock/metal acts play with orchestra backing), but by his band members. With the creativity Joe displayed in his first e.p., and all of his pedals, he could pull it off. "Satriani Plays Vivaldi" - why not?
I know, everyone's a critic...but why couldn't you both have been seated for this interview? You're standing in front of a couch. Just a little odd. Also, if Joe was plugged into an amp, we could hear those ideas that you took the trouble to tab out.

JIM THEOBALD
Я один заметил что Джо Сатриани на Воландеморта мохож?)
ага, стех пор как облысел
Just ask him the questions, don't put it on screen. It doesn't work
cool questions. but that guy isnt getting any of it!b so why making it look like he is!?
All that guitar knowledge, yet you stick him in a band with a great singer and he can't come up with the goods.
The interviewer doesn't have a clue does he? Does he even know who Joe is? The subtitles are wrong, too.
