Carolyn Jones' exotic beauty was so atmospheric it's incredible, I miss you Carolyn, you made this a better world. To live in the hearts we leave behind, is to never die - Carl Sagan
Carolyn Jones as Morticia is one of the most charming and seductive women I'v ever seen: beautiful face, beautiful body (as that dress proves), refined manners.... Just perfect!
One of the loveliest gals on TV - ever! She was also valiant regarding her fight against cancer (the same disease that took away my eternal and true love -- Barbra Rose). We love you, Carolyn! Rest in Heaven's peace, dear lady.
Know I'm a bit late to the party, but thanks for the video! Absolutely LOVE Carolyn Jones- wanted to BE her when I grew up (but no, not quite that skinny, nor rich, plus never actually grew up.) Adored her portrayal of Morticia, damn shame she died so young! Just imagine what wonderful roles she might've gone on to play....
Morticia and Gomez were the only TV couple that actully showed passion for each other. John Astin said they were attracted to each in real life so the chemistry between them is real and it shows.
Thank you for this. She is one of my favorite actresses. She was my favorite charater on the addams family. I wish her and John Astin would have been an item. She was so awesome. House of Wax was great and I loved the small role she had on Alfred Hitchcock presents. Before I go to sleep at night, I pop one of the dvds in and watch til I fall asleep. The complete series on dvd is awesome. I love the interviews.
I was just 10yrs. old then, but I understood the zany, craziness of the comic originality (to this day). My absolute favorite roles were whoever would be in the scene. But Carolyn was "perfection" at the utmost degree of TV characters ever! IMOA.
I remember an interview on the Long John Nebel radio yalk show with Carolyn Jonrs. She spoke of her role ad Morticia The scene where Gomez kissed her arm up to her neck though Morticia always stopped him. She said the producers I guess wanted that cut out from the show as it was considered too provocative. The 2 fought to keep it in and won.
As a kid. I loved the originality of the characters on the Addams Family. The Munsters were cool, but were based on existing monster movies. Thing, Cousin Itt, Lurch. Uncle Fester. All were unique to the Addams Family name. Still great TV for any kid back in the 60'
Hate to burst your bubble but The Addams Family is based on a series of New Yorker magazine cartoons they're all in there they're not original to the TV series at all
@@tolfan4438 You know exactly what he meant. They were original characters from the strip not characters from various monster movies or horror novels etc.
When I was a little boy of 7&8 years old I had a serious crush on her. Carolyn Jones was a great actress and she mesmerized the audiences with her talent. When she passed away, I was heartbroken because we lost a great talent, as well as beauty. There will never be another actress with her talent.
Carolyn was one of the then rare established movie stars to go on to star on hit tv series along with Yvonne DeCarlo, Donna Reed, Eddie Albert, Raymond Burr etc. That high caliber casting is what helped make their shows so iconic.
I love watch this story..again,again and again :D carolyn jones is my favorite actress in all the world, she died too soon, but she will be alive in all the minds of the people like me " Adore" her R.I.P Carolyn Jones
She had talent and she had beauty ...her nose job, her dyed hair were backgrounds. Her expensive clothes and jewels were the result of her work (as she said once) like every talented actress in this world could have....but she was very intelligent!
I really liked the pictures, their beauty and as Hollywood creates that atmosphere of creativity that ultimately is art. The projection is for the world we live
The most shocking thing I learned in this documentary is that Addams Family ran only TWO YEARS and was idiotically CANCELLED even though it was successful.
Oh! Actor Sean Aston from movies: Rudy & Lord of the Rings is John Aston’s adopted former wife Patty Duke! It finally dawned on me! God bless J. A.! He’s still going at 89! Good for him. Very sad about her passing at such a very young age...Carolyn Jones.
Gomez is passionately in love with his wife Morticia; he affectionately calls her romantic names like Querida (“darling”) and Cara Mia (“my beloved”), and is driven wild by the slightest of her actions especially when she speaks French.
I was born in Amarillo in 1965...grew up in West Texas and have long lived in Hollywood, California. Go figure. Oh, yes, I like the performances of Carolyn Jones. By the way, I too battled asthma as a child and I think I understand what Ms. Jones was going through.
It goes to show that in order to play Morticia Addams, you need some acting chops (Carolyn Jones, Angelica Houston, and Bebe Neuwirth). All of them came with accolades before the role of Morticia, and that’s not a coincidence.
they're very different people with different gifts. it's not a competition. it's too bad CJ never got leads and never got serious parts. but H'wood is a pitiless meat-grinder.
wow i didnt know she was born in texas i always thought she was from california itz so cool cuz im also from texas and i also want to become an actress itz my dream and my passion
Gomez is passionately in love with his wife Morticia; he affectionately calls her romantic names like Querida (“darling”) and Cara Mia (“my beloved”), and is driven wild by the slightest of her actions especially when she speaks French.
She had an obvious nose job. Wow. I think the nose was a little too small but she liked it. Changed her to quite a glamour girl. She would not have gone as far with the old nose. Sorry but true.
Why did she had a nose job?! There was nothing wrong with her nose??? Odd... Same with Marilyn Monroe, she had rhinoplasty and a chin implant too... :/
i watched this after seeing her in "Shield for Murder" (1954). she's just a blonde at the bar with a bruise on her arm. she embues her 5 minutes with cobwebs of intrigue and insanity. if only she'd found a niche for her serious talent. still, she did better than most.
Actually they are NOT related at all. I remember when that rumour was going around. You can Google it to double check. Her only sister was Betty Moriarty.

"atmospheric" is spot on. she exuded a reverie.
Carolyn Jones as Morticia is one of the most charming and seductive women I'v ever seen: beautiful face, beautiful body (as that dress proves), refined manners.... Just perfect!

She was absolutely perfect as Morticia in the 1964-1966 television series “The Addams Family”
Know I'm a bit late to the party, but thanks for the video! Absolutely LOVE Carolyn Jones- wanted to BE her when I grew up (but no, not quite that skinny, nor rich, plus never actually grew up.)

Well there was also Jonathan and Jennifer Hart, Mike and Carol Brady, Cliff and Clair Huxtable, Tim and Jill Taylor, Martin and Gina Payne etc.
I'm a great fan of Carolyn Jones, thank you so much for uploading this biography. It really gave me a more deeper understanding of her.
*a more deep/deeper
She was a very nice woman and talented actress
Thanks for up loading this, I love Carolyn, She left us too soon.
I just fell in love with the tv show, and knowing she died early is heartbreaking. She gave the world so much in terms of entertainment

I don't know about you, but I always thought that Carolyn Jones as Morticia Addams was one of the sexiest women that I ever saw!
I'm with you buddy, to this day when I see the Adams family, she makes me go weak at the knees!!!

Dawn Wells, Carolyn Jones, Elizabeth Montgomery, Pam Grier underrated tv/B-movie beauties
Don't forget Yvonne DeCarlo.
I'm happy for Carolyn that she broke out of small-town life and made it in the movies and TV. What a battle!
April 28th, 1930- August 3rd, 1983

carolyn jones is my favorite as Morticia
Lisa Loring died on January 28th, 2023 aged 64
Carolyn Jones was the one and only Morticia Addams to me
True!
She was the first and best Morticia Addams ever. Though Anjelica Houston did very well.
I Loved and Adored her... she was incredible in King Creole. and I loved Loved LOVED Morticia... Sweet Dreams, Carolyn...
I remember When Carolyn Jones passed, very sad :( I miss the old Biography shows, They don't have the old actors on here anymore. Very sad.

Today they'd kill for a show this good and that successful.

I can't imagine the Addams family without her but I really enjoyed her batman appearances as a villainess.
Gomez made that show - what a character! Love that show - the movie wasn't a touch on the original.
loved the episode with Uncle Fester - moon burn, wrecking the train etc.
She was a angel! RIP
She was s0000 beautiful! So {{{sad}}} she died of cancer.

She also appreared in "The Postman Always Rings Twice."
Actors are bright people? Thanks, I needed a good laugh.
Had no idea she was married to Spelling.
Bad craziness, 10yrs.?! Insane.
This was great...but where’s the rest of it? 😊❤️
Those eyes!!
What other icon was born in Amarillo, Texas?
one very pretty lady ..allways liked her ..so sad died young . :(
she was so beautiful as Morticia. She did have here nose made smaller when she started out.
I always watched The Munsters it was a great TV series.
Joyce Culleton As a child I was a Munsters fan. Did not watch the Addams Family.
Oh, what was wrong with her old nose? Gorgeous girl, gorgeous lady and a HUGE talent! Thank you for this documentary =)
Carolyn reminds me a bit of Carol Lombard and Bette Davis.
Golden girl! I LOVE her!!! I wanna to be borned at 1920s or 1930's and die to this time! I Love you Carolyn Jones! My dream girl, I love you)))

Jason Huntley Actor John Aston was born the sane year as Carolyn Jones, 1930, but he is still living & is 89!
Kirk Moore I had heard that...but had forgotten...thank you.
She looks a little bit like Isabella Rossellini...
1:42 "Oh, Amarillo, whatcha want my baby for?"
I've seen a lot of photos of her with different hairstyles and she really looks better than long hair I think
still groovy Happy Birthday
I Wish they would Change FYI back to BIO !
She is one of the people I look up to. I think she was a much better actresss than Marilyn Monroe. Don't get me wrong, I think Marilyn is great

The sun was not as dangerous back then. The ozone layer was not depleted.
@angleoflove13 i did but it seems more revlaent for her to be born i ca me to
She had an obvious nose job. Wow. I think the nose was a little too small but she liked it. Changed her to quite a glamour girl. She would not have gone as far with the old nose. Sorry but true.
Wowww!, that new nose she got changed completely her face and her life!
Why did she had a nose job?! There was nothing wrong with her nose??? Odd... Same with Marilyn Monroe, she had rhinoplasty and a chin implant too... :/
moguls are scared of women with noses. it's a pity. some of the world's most beautiful women have noses. but Hollyweird chops them off.
i watched this after seeing her in "Shield for Murder" (1954). she's just a blonde at the bar with a bruise on her arm. she embues her 5 minutes with cobwebs of intrigue and insanity. if only she'd found a niche for her serious talent. still, she did better than most.
