- I've always thought, personally, that Ben's best songs are love songs. The temperament of his love songs usually ranges between playful and painful. Someone is usually leaving, or left and came back. They're asking for forgiveness or dealing with pain. Grace's Casket is my personal favorite, and the list is decently long at least. This one is a little more earnest than the others. He rarely has seemed to write so directly about honest, soft, long love. No one is leaving, no one has plans of going anywhere ("i'm too old for gettin gone"). No ultimatums, no judgement, no anger. It is good to see some evolution in the approach to the subject matter, one that reflects maturity and acceptance with the passing of time.
Like any relationship, i'm sure Ben and Ashley's is complicated. Over the years i've come to see, as tough as it is, they seem to keep each other sane. Sane as one can be anyway. Ben seems to thrive with a little bit of order, and I think that's true for a lot of us. I wouldn't want to live with Ben for 10 years, so good on Ashley. Hard to imagine ten years has passed at all, and I know they would've been a lot different had things turned out any other way. So sing a love song to the ones you love, and stop blaming them for what's wrong with you.

Most underrated song writer and voice in the category of music. Wish Benjamin and his family nothing but love, peace, happiness, and wealth but God does he write songs for the downtrodden, the regular, the irregular, the overlooked, the outcast, the addicted, the list goes on. Most people I ask have never heard of Tod. Part of this is that he hates mainstream, so maybe it's alright. Just a talented artist all around.

Bernard Smith some of the best artist’s I’ve ever heard were never mainstream, and that’s what made them unique and as good as they are. That’s why the term sellout exists, because people go mainstream for the mindless mass of people.

Benjamin Tod is by far my favorite musician of the modern day. It’s so backwards somebody this talented is unknown while a million clones who have songs written for them are famous. Get me as far away from that as possible give me more of this.

Me and my girlfriend have been together 7 months, she has been pregnant for 6 and a half months. I had a lot of reservations about if I want to commit myself to her for the rest of my life, and if we would make it that long, and if it’s just for the baby. My longest relationship before her was 4 months, so I’ve never been in a long serious relationship. But the night of my babyshower I found this song, it got me thinking and helped me realize that there’s no one else I would rather end with. Thank you Ben for helping me finally accept love.

Personally, Benjamin reminds me of Townes Van Zandt. He has the drifter vibe and image, the distinctive, passionate voice, and a similar way of guitar playing. Just my two cents! I certainly hope he becomes more famous than Townes ever got to.

My addictions all the times I've gotten mad and threw her shit out bc my addictions. She has put up with it all and now im free of the addiction and had ahold of me.we have bought a house both decent jobs and we are doing fantastic.
