Benjamin Tod, discovered your music about 5, 6 years ago and been an avid fan ever since. A ton of truth in what he's saying here, country of today, or even a decade ago sucks. Corporate music always sucked to me. Money rips the soul out of art plain and simple. Why I'm forever a Sturgil, Justin Townes Earle, John Moreland, John Prine, Joshua James, Steve Earle fan. Men like Guy Clark, Scott H Biram, etc are the exception to for profit labels, standing by the art, reflecting society with interpretations of life, in ways that will live long after their souls leave this earth. Good for you Ben, tons of respect for speaking truth to "power".
😁 I am not even a huge country/folk music fan, I found Benjamin’s music a while ago, love it, my man is a legend… Much much respect, it’s wild to see him that young etc. all my best to him and his wife. Much appreciation and love, from Detroit, respect.
yeah I dunno who started it but it's clear that Wynn Varble escalates the situation by first telling Benjamin that he's going to "mash his nose," and when Ben dares him to do it, Wynn replies that Ben would "like to get some of that Brad Paisely money" instead... it should be noted that the highlight of Wynn Varble's career is co-writing 3 songs which reached the American Country Music charts #1 position; a single by Darryl Worley, a single by Easton Corbin, and a single by Brad Paisley... it should also be noted that Wynn shared these writing credits with at least 4 or 5 other co-writers... so when you start to break down the likely payouts he received, divided among the contributors, it sounds like Mr. Varble himself would ALSO love to get some of that Brad Paisely money because he's got nickles and dimes to compare it to... his outburst is little more than a self-fulfilling revelation of his own shortcomings and inability to become well known or famous on his own merits... something that Benjamin Todd is actually fulfilling every single day by raking up MILLIONS of youtube views for his own original material; none of which has ever been bought and recorded by sellout corporate country radio shill... point to Benjamin Todd. Wynn Varble is in way over his head. but hey, that's most Boomers to be honest.
Ignorance and stupidity never cease to amaze me.. Our country's music would never be what it is with out young men like Mr. Tod.. True warriors pounding our streets, not to be rich.. Free!!
My son has rode the rails with him back when he came to Colorado when his girlfriend was in college. I wish this video would have shown him playing!! Absolutely a true singer songwriter.
I sure hope the Ben whose music I love today has grown out of that sort of behavior. I far prefer him to commercial country, and I feel the same way about it he does, but telling a person you've never met about their life, and that you're a phenomenon, is pretty silly. I don't see the point.
No this guy was threatening him and got him riled up. This guy is evidently making a tv show and exploiting the soul of Nashville to do it and then threatens a street performer who goes train to train traveling the country to pour out his soul.
To be fair he didn't say he himself was a phenomenon. He said he was a dying phenomenon and all Wynn heard was "phenomenon" and totally missed his point. I can't disagree with Ben saying he's a dying phenomenon. Singer songwriters like him are a rare breed these days. Especially ones that write songs with meaning. I agree he may have lashed out a little but shit, I'd probably respond in a similar fashion to a guy writing shitty songs with Kellie Pickler
I think they were BOTH wrong here. Ben saying that guy was a fake cos of how he was dressed. And telling him how he never went through anything in life. But it also seems to me that maybe this "cowboy" most likely started the drama.
Well to be fair that guys music is f*cking terrible and it is fake, written by random songwriters, just a guy with a twang wanting to cash in on the all that good country money.
This is the best putdown I've ever seen since Good Will Hunting gave it to that college boy at the bar. But that was scripted. This was Benjamin Tod the real deal.
Everyone shit talking needs to remember he was still a kid in this. Going through this phase and learning to get his ego in check is part of what makes his music good. This isn’t the same guy that’s around these days.
Shit, he should get knocked out for the hipster garbage he's been making recently. Let alone this little tantrum against singer with less urban clout than he has.
oh fuck, you got offended because "country" music you like is about nascar, beer, whiskey, trucks, big fucking hats and partying all day? And anything besides that is hippie? Gtfo
Jon A. Agreed. But this does seem like a while ago I bet he’s done some maturing since then and may have a different take on how he would’ve gone about this interaction.
His attitude is his music. He’s the last dying flame of the American street culture outlaw country. If you don’t like that then he’s not the artist for you
Anybody who threatens to “smash your nose in” and then doesn’t do it. Is a coward ... be about it. Not talk about it.. lost dog street band are great musicians!

I don't know your experience with addiction so I can't say it sounds like you don't know what a full blown heroin addict goes through. ..but let me tell you it's a fucking great feeling to have control over something that was literally going to kill you. And something tells me you wouldn't say this to Me or Benjamin Tod to our face ...but I get it...you have your own feelings and thoughts and though some may not be right it's who you are. I'm curious as to why you think that way..ain't nothing wrong with being proud of yourself for accomplishing something that is very important to you and everyone that loves you. Good luck sir.
@@user-qt5eh9wb7g Are you a fan of LDSB ? Are you ashamed that you suffered from addiction? Am I supposed to be ashamed of myself because I am clean? I am pretty humbled by it honestly. Until you have met me and lived a day in my shoes or anyone who has overcome addiction for that matter you have no ground to stand on. Sounds like that's how you feel about you brother.
“Do I want my nose mashed? What does that even mean?”
yo ben, anyone can talk shit, but friend, seeing you live . I can tell ya , you are the real thing . and the music speaks loader then you ever could. A lost dog is way better then a lap dog ! OOOH . LOL.
Never heard of a Wynn Varble. I have heard of Benjamin Tod he's great...
Ben Todd is a living legend
Bens four times as popular as him now😂
More like a 1000🤣 And he still gives the finger to those trick bags. GOD BLESS HIM 🙏
Nobody knows the cowboy, that should tell us all something about who is real and who isn't
Still following Benjamin make it big your way !!!
I love you Benjamin. You are authentic! Respect from Bavaria.
Who the fuck is Wynn Varble?
Seems to be just another shitty pop country artist by the sound of his Spotify
This needs to be a sign we make at lost dog shows,,, “WHO THE F*#K IS WYNN VARBLE??”
@@christiangrant2606 yes!
Sounds like a villain in a 1930's Flash Gordon movie
Right On Ben and All!! Most honest testimonial on music and life ever...Thank You!
Get'em Ben, your music is 10xs better than 100% of hairspray music of today's music. That guy ain't even anyone ,anyones ever even heard of!
Very well said
Exactly, everything you said was on point
Boomer? That guy's like 50.
Every few years this vid pops up in my feed. Its crazy how amazing this dudes music is.
now benjamin tod banking on beautiful misery music. Don't even know who the other guy is.
Wow Ben's such a baby face here back during his train hopping days lol I love itttt
Although this interaction may be cringy Benjamin Tod is totally right
Sending tons of love to you and your wife from Canada. We love your true soul music ❤
I dont even know who the other guy is. Love Benjamin Tod
Wynn Vrable. He wrote a couple hits. He also sang a homophobic song called I aint going down on Brokeback mountain.
Who the fuck is Wynn Varble? Benjamin Todd is the man
I looked him up and apparently no one's given a shit about him in 10 years or so
Benjamin Tod has helped me so much threw my life he makes real music no bullshit
I sure hope the Ben whose music I love today has grown out of that sort of behavior. I far prefer him to commercial country, and I feel the same way about it he does, but telling a person you've never met about their life, and that you're a phenomenon, is pretty silly. I don't see the point.
I agree, judging a book by its cover, not what i thought ben todd was about.
Stfu, really.
"Anybody will say anything under the influence of madness" - Jesco White
I think they were BOTH wrong here. Ben saying that guy was a fake cos of how he was dressed. And telling him how he never went through anything in life. But it also seems to me that maybe this "cowboy" most likely started the drama.
Well to be fair that guys music is f*cking terrible and it is fake, written by random songwriters, just a guy with a twang wanting to cash in on the all that good country money.
Whats the backstory that lead up to this
I’ve never heard of wynn whatever his name is, but I’ve heard everything Benjamin Tod Flippo has in his discography.
And here he hasn't put out an album in 7 years and Tod just gets better and better. I had never heard of the man before coming across this.
I hadn't either
This is the best putdown I've ever seen since Good Will Hunting gave it to that college boy at the bar. But that was scripted. This was Benjamin Tod the real deal.
Everyone shit talking needs to remember he was still a kid in this. Going through this phase and learning to get his ego in check is part of what makes his music good. This isn’t the same guy that’s around these days.
Shit, he should get knocked out for the hipster garbage he's been making recently. Let alone this little tantrum against singer with less urban clout than he has.
@@grizzlyblackpowder1960 Why don't you do it then? Go find him and fight him yourself. He's got his whole tour listed
@@grizzlyblackpowder1960 I didn’t know hipster were hobos.
@@grizzlyblackpowder1960 the brokeback mountain dude?
oh fuck, you got offended because "country" music you like is about nascar, beer, whiskey, trucks, big fucking hats and partying all day? And anything besides that is hippie? Gtfo
This whole interaction is super cringe.
You mean for both parties, right? No one really comes off well here.
Yea I agree, Ben made some good points, but he came off as a dick. If his music wasn't so good, I'd lose respect for him.
Jon A. Agreed. But this does seem like a while ago I bet he’s done some maturing since then and may have a different take on how he would’ve gone about this interaction.
@@Gnarmac2k Yeah
His attitude is his music. He’s the last dying flame of the American street culture outlaw country. If you don’t like that then he’s not the artist for you
He still picks up and plays. Big respect Benjamin.
I know Benjamin Tod,.......who is the other guy???
Who cares. Ben was right, he sucks.
A nobody, wanna be somebody.
No idea too
his name is Wynn Varble. Not a fan, just took it from description
This is why country music is both my favorite and least favorite genre.
That dog was chill af during that argument.
Man if only he knew who Ben would become
I wanted to hear the song
RANDY!!
Benjamin Todd is real country.
Benjamin Todd is one of the best musicians that's ever lived! Fact
I mean he's still alive?
Sure is
what even happened to spark this? without context they both seem to be out of line
Ben you are freaking awesome 😊
I feel bad for people that don’t have the mental capacity to comprehend and appreciate meaningful/relatable music. Benjamin and LDSB sing the truth
who the fuck is Wynn Varble
Varble the Marble
Anybody who threatens to “smash your nose in” and then doesn’t do it. Is a coward ... be about it. Not talk about it.. lost dog street band are great musicians!
He's used to people backing down when he tries to bully them. Straight coward.
No. Hes smart. Hes on camera. He knows the little punk would sue him.

Amazing! I’d love to see what songs they played and the reception. They are one of my all time favourites 👌
Benjamin Tod is a fucking one of a kind and has feeling behind his music bc he's lived the hard shit and experienced more than most do in their entire lives. Emotion comes from experience when it comes to music
He is a cringe-inducing moron.
