Thank you Oraly for single handedly paying for our views of Asaf Avidan on this station. So appreciated. . I am on fixed income so im unable to pay right now. Asaf is one poet artist musician that is one in a million like a Ren. I have been digging for months. Where in the heck have i been over 13 yrs to not know of him? Better yet-- why is he not known in USA? Mind boggling.
@SaeedReacts.- my favorite is 900 days, but any of them are my favorites. All so different. And the early years when he was in a group.are very good also. Just different. He I like a rubic cube Saeed. I said that about Ren also. Both are similar. Both so damn unique and talented.
Hi Saeed! I've really been enjoying your Asaf Avidan exploration. He's so unusual, in the best possible way. I find that lyrically, he has something in common with Leonard Cohen. Some of my friends went to see him in concert last year, when he came to Montreal, and I declined their invitation. Now I'm kicking myself. Bigtime!
The song is actually about our deepest fears and hopes - the whole metaphorical description in the song is based on the biblical story-(from his point of view of cours..) -about the Israelites who came out as slaves from Egypt, and Moses was the one who led them in the desert. Then he disappeared, when he went up the mountain to talk to God. And they waited and waited and felt that they were left alone without a father or mother figure and then out of desperation they built themselves a golden calf that would actually be their god in order to feel that they are seen and held. Then according to the biblical story Moses came back very angry at their act and broke the golden calf... and Asaf asked what the hell is he angry about? When he himself abandoned them.. Asaf felt empathy for them, for this feeling of needing to create your own world in order not to feel alone after an experience of abandonment. Asaf said that he met a girl when he felt completely broken and abandoned and felt that they both can recreate that calf in each other... Asaf's genius❤❤❤ And I'll just point out that everything I write here is according to what he told in one of his performances😊 Thank you Saeed for this one🥰
@rinatnimni5177 Oh nice! I really like that you shared this with us! It makes more sense now, although I've had a great time finding other interpretations of this as well. :)
Thank you again for a lovely reaction👏❤️ Assaf often uses symbols from the Bible or mythology in his poetry. Usually these symbols have no religious connection, but more like a reference to a common human culture, where the common symbol has a depth of different connections. Like another layer in the poem. His songs, like his music, really make you think. Another thing - do you also share the feeling that if he only wanted to, he could take one of the violins and play with the same expertise as the musicians who perform with him?
Hehe. This one is hard to decipher at first listen. And second and third as well. Speaking for myself here obviously. Great reaction 🙂 Greetings from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
This is definitely a complex one. I have now read a few things about it and start to get a grasp on it. What a writer! Thanks for watching. Much love from Belgium.
Thank you once again Saeed for this beautiful song and a great reaction. I'm not sure if I can add a link related of the meaning of this song ... Thanks for sharing!
I love you are so into Ren and Asaf. Both are amongst my favorit artist - But a song I also would love for you to hear; Dirt Miller with D1. Your lyrical sense deserves it ❤

He definitely should be more well known. His Reckoning Song (One Day) is the most popular i believe, but he has so many amazing songs.

Hey! A very unique artist. I saw him talking about Leonard Cohen in an interview. One of his idols.
Yes, he's definitely inspired by Leonard Cohen a lot. His Labyrinth song (very beautiful melody and lyrics) reminds me of Cohen's Susanne.
@@SaeedReacts. Wow! That's amazing! I can see it. 🙂
I believe he is a big fan of Cohen. And Bob Dylan as well. You can kinda understand that when you listen to him 🙂

Thanks so much for sharing that. Amazing insight into his creative mind.
@@SaeedReacts. I think he should do an EEG test to understand what is going on in his brain🤣🤣

Craftsmanship at its best but crafted with words that stirrs the heartstrings and left your soul bare. Wow!! Greetings from South Africa
To me the thousand silences old is all the sins ( covered in secret or darkness) over 2000 years
Amazing, right? Incredible artist. Thanks for watching.
I was looking forward to you hearing these lines. The beauty of his wordcraft is astounding to me - even when I'm not sure what he means.
