EXHUMED return from the depths with their macabre new album, To the Dead! The band' storied career needs no introduction; EXHUMED are the pioneers of blood-soaked "Gore" Metal. To the Dead is the culmination of decades upon decades of nightmarish riffs, obliterating blast beats, and hellish screams from the very depths the band crawled out from!
"To The Dead is a destination," EXHUMED mastermind Matt Harvey says. "A rotting world populated by the grotesquely twisted truths of our waking world and the decaying fallout of our most deranged ambitions. But it's also a title that evokes a celebration of, and an invitation into the gore-soaked world of EXHUMED."
The very celebration of EXHUMED's history is ever-present on this album. "We've expanded the writing team on the record to include former members Mike Beams, Leon del Muerte, Matt Widener and Bud Burke in an effort to celebrate the band's history - at this point decades of it - and I think the resulting record is an excellent testament to the surprising longevity of Gore Fucking Metal!" Harvey says.
So please, accept the band's humble invitation and sink six feet down to their level. EXHUMED can't wait for you to get a whiff of what they've cooked up - this will be the most fun you've ever had being disgusted!

I went to grade school with Ross "Sewage" and was one of his best friends. Probably the most creative guy I ever knew, and a super talented artist. We lost touch in middle school. Happy to see he made a name for himself doing what he loves. Quite a contrast from the innocent childhood pics I have of him!
I just got to meet him last month in his other band ghoul when they went on tour with municipal waste in Columbia sc. Cool dude.
Saw these guys, like, 20 years ago in a crappy, dive bar. They grinded their guitars against each other as if chainsaw battling; fun shit. Awesome to see they're still around, writing bangers like this.
lol same here close to 20 years ago and it was a total dive shit bar in the worst part of my city. I remember smashing glasses on the floor and the waitresses didn't even give a shit.
Same here, I saw them roughly 20 years ago in the early 2000's! I remember the guitar player willfully vomiting on stage (multiple times) at the show I was at. It was some nasty shit but that's what you expect from Exhumed. lol

Really? First thing i noticed was the bad mix. Quiet vocals and lack of high end on guitars.
@@Controldenied0 It's subjective I suppose. I like a rougher/more raw sounding mix. Reminds me of earlier Exhumed

Very oldschool for sure compared to their last couple albums. I generally like a drier more focused mix but this works too. Guitar tone is pure 90s deathgrind

I can't believe this is on relapse. Most of the time relapse stifles a bands ferociousness and underground credibility. But Exhumed managed to make good heavy album.
Exhumed is one of the bands that put Relapse on the map back in the late 90s.
