    I like the American crossings especially the loud clanging bell wish we had them over here

      I like the safetran bells better than the mechanical federal signal ones.

    Just another great video! And to top it off you can hear me telling Joe I couldn't hear the dodgy alarm at the very end :p. These alarms aren't absolutely blaring, so I wouldn't put 'loud alarms' in the title personally but I respect you might want to 👍😎

      @South East Level Crossings Channel Thanks! 😎 Yeah you could just hear that faulty alarm over the one I was standing under. Might go back to film the other side again. Most rural AHB crossings have ostensibly quiet alarms so to me, I think the ones here are quite loud.

      @@UKLevelCrossingsChannel Makes sense. Kenardington's alarms are even louder as we found out not too long after! Sudbrook's also fairly rural and those alarms are absolutely blaring!

    I find the sound of a digital alarm horn with a crossing gate intriguing being used to the typical bell sound we have here in the States

    • @UKLevelCrossingsChannel
      @UKLevelCrossingsChannel  4 года назад

      Yeah, the UK has electronic alarms, most of which have different sounds and volumes. It's quite cool because it makes each crossing unique in a way 😊

    Those alarms suit uk crossings, but if they were implemented in holland, Id rather jump from a building! XD

      Lol - the alarms in Holland sound all the same so I'd find them quite boring 🤔

    Wait.... the alarm stops when down? Very strange for an AHB.

    • @UKLevelCrossingsChannel
      @UKLevelCrossingsChannel  3 года назад

      It's a design feature that was more common on these crossings back in the 1980s. There's still a few crossings that do this but with the majority of these crossings, the alarms continue sounding throughout.

    How come alarm stop when barriers down

    • @UKLevelCrossingsChannel
      @UKLevelCrossingsChannel  5 лет назад

      Some half barrier crossings have alarms that switch off when the barriers are down. Usually these crossings are rural on quiet roads.
