Also known as Conington North Level Crossing.
This crossing has been known as the "Crossing of Death", and is probably Britain's only Haunted Level Crossing. The crossing has had quite a dark past with multiple fatalities, before the crossing was upgraded to lights, barriers and alarms. It is located on the East Coast Mainline (ECML) and in an area called Conington.
Thanks For Watching! Авто/Мото
I'm a real purist when it comes to these videos. The simpler, the better. It's about capturing an atmosphere and you did it brilliantly here.
Thank you! 😁
I've been here before! I can't recall witnessing anything supernatural though - it was actually quite a pleasant experience. I always say that if anything, it's the live people that cause the most trouble, so they're the ones to worry about! Having said that, those alarms are probably loud enough to wake the dead! A hauntingly-good video here, UKLCC! Always nice to see some East Coast Main Line action, and a splendid catch of the Class 43 after that lengthy wait, especially with the ultra-wide angle! 👻👍🚧🚦
Thanks! 😁 This was nothing compared to other closures I filmed. I wonder what the atmosphere would be like in the pitch black at night. Been good catching loads of ECML action, especially the 91s and 43s before they're scrapped
I was hoping that when the barriers finally lifted the camera would pan to the right and show that the waiting commercial vehicle wasn’t actually there at all but was a spectral sound.
Those alarms definitely sound haunted!
Indeed - they are really loud
Nice video mate got me haunted!😂
Thanks 😎 Yeah, quite a unique crossing
Nice video!
Thanks! 😊
By haunted, do you mean that lots of accidents happened here?
Yeah, there's been a few fatalities many years ago, and the crossing has been known to be haunted
Nice video
Thanks 😁
Please 😃

I thought this crossing was in Peterborough
It’s not too far from Peterborough. It’s just south of Huntingdon.
Oh ok thx😅
Another nice crossing. The upgrade is nice but wont be as nice as older barriers like GWE barriers and other old barriers.
Yeah the old equipment is long gone unfortunately but was a nice spot to film at nonetheless
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel I've gotta agree - I do love these crossings which have loud alarms, are busy with trains, and are in the middle of nowhere! Sounds a great place to spend a good hour or so watching closures and trains! 😊
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings Well that's what me and Dan did, I think we were here for almost 2 hours 😁
What aspect of this crossing makes it haunted?
