You just know music is great when the last notes fade into silence and you hear the quiet after and appreciate it more for the sound that came before. Bravo.
Absolutely!! This moment of bliss after the concert, before anyone dares to clap, and the whole evening with every facette and emotion is echoing through your head and heart and you never want this to stop!
"When he gives sleep to his loved ones, When he gives sleep to his loved ones, Behold the inheritance of the children of the Lord, Fruit of the belly, fruit of the belly. When he gives sleep to his loved ones, Behold the inheritance of the children of the Lord, Fruit of the belly, fruit of the belly, Fruit of the belly, fruit of the belly". This is taken from Psalm 127, which talks about all the hard work of building a life is only of value if we allow God to build the house. And children are a blessing from Him.
I agree with you! This was one of the first vocal pieces by Vivaldi I'd heard, sung by Scholl. I was transfixed. I had wished to write music as expressive as Vivaldi once...
@@MitchBoucherComposer My first exposure to countertenor singing was Scholl singing Cum Dederit, and I was also transfixed. So perfectly beautiful, it changed my life!
@@carolciliberti-noaafederal1780 Ah, lovely! I agree with you. I think that's what I often love about the music of Vivaldi; it is simple at times but more moving because of its simplicity. Also the dark key of g minor is probably my favourite.

This arrangement for Voice and Theorbo can be good in the way that it could suit the ear of the people not yet acquainted with the stangeness of Baroque music ... But the marvelous voice of the singer performing here, Anna Nuytten, definitely deserves a full orchestra set : i hope she will be given this opportunity ♥
I wonder how much the music influenced the culture of Vivaldi's time compared with how great it reflected the customs of the day. Is it the same for us? On way or the other, much of the music of our time doesn't suggest we have anything to be proud of.

Arrangement très réussi, même sans effets. Supers musiciens .Bravo!
Sung in a room, no special concert hall acoustics and it is perfect. Fantastic musicians.
The lute sounds fantastic great combination with voice
A lovely and stunning performance, Thomas and Anna! How intimate and beautiful is this music. I imagine Vivaldi would approve.

I agree, our culture would be greater if we oriented ourselves again towards beauty in our art!
I dont know who Dederit is but im sure they would prefer some privacy.
Good one! :)
Не повезло парню.
Всё-таки безвибратное пение звучит очень слабо. Очень сомневаюсь, что певцы того времени пели такими плоскими голосами.
Young folks, wonderful... but I don't know why a fire extinguisher comes to mind? 🤔
Beautiful !!!!!!
