it's from this digital release for Blue Drive .. (as far as i can tell) is only on boomkat - boomkat.com/products/kgb-nights-blue-drive it seems to be a different transfer/rip/master than the one that later came out on The Fall Into Time.
The first thing that comes to my mind when I listen to this track is a blurred and fuzzy image of myself half asleep in front of the TV when I was a kid. It feels hypnagogic and... "analog", for the lack of a better word
Listening to this in the dark lying in bed, this song sounds like a dramatic score to my life's movie. It's the only thing that's allowing me to enjoy my own existence at the moment, because when I pretend my life is a movie, it makes it a bit more palatable....for now.
I keep coming back to this song over and over. How the chords flow and the filters moving throughout just does it for me. Beyond nostalgia. It’s like the perfect mesh of a dream and a childhood memory stamped in time forever. For me at least….
:-) not to be a massive nerd or anything, but to be specific, this version of the track is actually from "KGB Nights / Blue Drive". i only mention it because the version on Fall Into Time sounds slightly different, like there's more tape noise and EQ-ed differently. from here boomkat.com/products/kgb-nights-blue-drive
Not underrated at all as he became an internet idol for all the stupid fanboys that thinks listening to his music makes you cool. More about the music, less about the artist.
He's actually very popular on the underground electronic music scene, such as Arca, SOPHIE, Lotic, The Haxan Cloak, etc... i mean, not everyone can appreciate these artists because they break the limits of what is considered music or not; they shit on the mainstream, on the stereotypes.
@@Chameleonardodavinci I dont... What do you think i meant by my comment? Maybe i was asking if this guy remembers the song 7 years later... kinda random
@@JohnSmith-cw1lf aha i thought you meant something like like "do you remember that moment of 30 mins ago now that 7 years have passed" so i wanted to do the same to you and get a chain going. The trenchcoat thing is to be cool like morpheus from the matrix. Time is cool
Is this an altered version? Because it seems to be a little bit lower pitched than the one on Spotify.

Very well be one of my favorite songs ever. I remember first listening to it in the winter a couple years back and was completely entranced.

I wanna hold the one I love listening to this in the darkness .
Been listening to OPN for about 3-4 years now and I still love his stuff..so incredible..
The Fall Into Time is a deep one.

opn is truly one of the most underrated artists

you're right man.
nah, it was a dumbass statement, no need to sugar-coat it

it's amazing to see how he has evolved musically these past years but his old stuff really is underrated
deserves a spot on pure moods
You can find many shades of this in the track Uncut Gems
Like a mix of Boards of Canada and Tangerine Dream. Beautiful stuff.
This sounds like what Mixmaster Morris of Irresistible Force would compose. Very beautiful ambient textures 😊
This song sounds like something straight out of Ecco The Dolphin
Coincidentally, Oneohtrix Point Never actually released a vaporwave album under a different pseudonym with Ecco The Dolphin as its cover art.
Roy Batty plz share
plz
leinad zebulon Chuck Person's Eccojams vol.1
👍👍
Eccojams is also widely regarded as the very first vaporwave album
Mandy
if you’re a fan of this song, you might like Phillip Wilkerson’s "Absolute Fields". The whole album has kinda similar feeling...
i will absolutely be checking it out then... thank you!
💙
I wouldn't be surprised if oneohtrix is asked to have his music in the background of movies or video games
