I was planning to platinum all the yakuza games on ps4, and I'm on my first playthrough of yakuza 3 in chapter 10.
This makes me feel fear, just like the minigames. Wish me luck KYODAIS.
I'm not a big trophy guy, but I liked Like a Dragon so much I got all the trophies except the last one, until I realised you have to grind 20 hours of boring repetitive dungeon crawling to have a chance at the true final millennium tower. Enjoy that one.
@@ICantSplel yeah I'm going only for the kiryu saga platinums, as I'm really not interested in plating a turn based jrpg. Only got 3 and 6 left, so I should basically be done whenever I finish the minigames in 3.
@@ICantSplel You actually don't need to grind that much, search for "Yakuza: Like A Dragon - True Final Millenium Tower "Low Level" Guide" on RUclips.
Yakuza 3 is a lot easier to platinum unlike the other games, way less minigames and content lol
@WDQWQWQF WQODWQP golf was probably the hardest minigame I've done thus far. Also I ended up platting 0-7 + judgments + OG ishin and working on dead souls and og 1+2 for those interested.

@@retrohazurd5243 If nothing else, Yakuza 3 really makes it easy to appreciate 4/5/0 after. Trust me people, it really does ease up after 3 (though fair warning to newbies, there's SOME encounters in 4 that might give you 'Nam flashbacks to Y3 blocking).
As someone who's finished 3 a few months ago, it's not that bad just don't fall for the meme and use your moves.
"Trust me yakuza 3 combat is slick bro you just need to unlock the optional komaki moves and cheese with parry and tiger drop and play in NG+ and grab and Squarex3 Triangle x2 trust me it's good bro and so fluid"

There are three kinds of people. The first are respectable and honorable people, then there are the disrespectful assholes who show no respect, and then...there’s Shinzaki.

On a serious note i unironically liked Y3
Same, but in terms of combat it's the weakest.

When enemy (some random Thug) gets Majima's AI:
Bro the enemies in Yakuza 3 are like NFL lineman, they never stop blocking,I nearly lost it my first playthrough lol
My gripes with people who would defend this are they don't seem to realize that if almost every enemy has the same cheesey solution then the combat system is still not well designed, just because a problem has a solution doesn't mean that executing that solution can't be boring or unintuitive
Have you fought Valery Garrett? Dudes literally unpredictable and his attacks are instantaneous
Thank you. Exactly how I am feeling. The whole "haha you dumb buttonmashers cry because you bad" argument is stupid. How is mashing other buttons or spamming another attack any better or how does it prove the combat doesn't suck? Y3 combat is feasible, but it isn't enjoyable for a target audience that likes games mostly for their story and whacky combat moves.
ON a sidenote, playing Y3 after the Judgment titles felt like torture. When you're used to a character that can actually move and then you get the pregnant lizard that's supposed to be the Dragon of Dojima .... suuuuuucks xD
@@Johnny_2124 first time I fought him he reduced me from full health to flashing health in what felt like 10 seconds, didn't even get the chance to block or dodge, whoever designed this guy really hates their audience
Thing is komaki parry isn't the only way to deal with blocking.
@@givmi_more_w9251 You dont randamly mash OTHER buttons. you try out different movesets, some of which go through blocks, and use grabs. it forces you to be innovative with your moveset instead of JUST mashing buttons.
Looks like Elden Ring pvp before bloodhound step was nerfed
Just go around him!! *He somehow does a 180 during a combo*
Just grab him!! *He instantly escapes the grab or it’s a fat guy*
Just use Komaki techniques!! *people in early game shoot themselves*

I love everything about Yakuza 3 except for the combat
This is just Godspeed Yoko all over again.
At least you could easily take her down with a gun, here you can't even do that
*And then he stands back up and the game reveals he has another health bar*
What kind of drugs were they taking balancing this combat, I need some
i love how he's just in the background...dash dancing....menacingly
I swear. I beat Yakuza 0, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 on hard difficulty. But Yakuza 3 Remastered forced me to restart on normal. Not because it was hard, but because it took me 30 minutes to beat Rikiya because he JUST KEPT BLOCKING
Something similar happened to me. Swapping hard for normal, normal for easy, and Rikiya for Tetsuo (the third boss, maybe? The one with knives and knuckles, I don't remember his name)
@@EnrocaLaRoca tamashiro, he really gave me dementia when i started the game
Hate when people argue that you can dodge around them or use counters to create an opening, when that lack of gameplay variety is exactly whats a bit annoying about the combat lol.
Is it the lack of variety in the combat, or is it the lack of variety in your playstyle? Think about it.
@@kflemonice No its the lack of variety in combat lol, you can't be offensive.
Not saying its a bad game, but the combat is definitely one of the lower points in the series. There's just nothing fun about having to use Komaki parries and tiger drops to do anything, the only offense that works is grabs and a lot of enemies shrug those off anyhow, and missing parries are a pain.
@@Dan-Ky-Kang I've played them all and this one is the weakest combat wise
"There's no variety in the combat, you have to use grabs, counters, parries, blocking and evading. I liked it more when you just had to press square and hold triangle every few moves, now that's diverse."
The problem with Y3 isn't the combat, it's the braindead AI that's hellbent on blocking and flying everywhere unless you hold R1.
@@VoidingTheContract You just admitted theres no variety in Y3's combat by saying the only methods that are viable to use are defensive asides from the boring ass grab move a lot of enemies counter. You dumbed down every other game to defend this ones combat. The ai is what makes the combat kinda bad, no one EVER SAID the actual combat alone is bad.
That cloaker noise almost made me shit myself
I can't imagine it without the sound effect anymore
"Git gud"
-dudes who drag their knuckles on the ground when they walk
I can be good at something and still fucking hate it. The Y3 combat system (especially the remaster) is bad, thinking that tedious=challenging doesn't change that.
0:39 Me after fighting Rikiya in New Game.
And then you have to beat him again but this time there is a gun wielding maniac too!
I beat them by just focusing the Andre Richardson clone and ignoring Shinzaki, with the occasional Komaki parry to leave him stunned
@@spoonmcduck1185 Yea, that's basically the way I did it too. Still though, it was annoying.
Rush style Kiryu : you dare use my own spell against me Shinzaki ?
A fight between this dude and Melee Fox
Ah yes, enemies that don't get stunned/dodge every single move even if the hitbox should have totally been hit/grabbers that ignore dodge/enemies that stun you with each hit...love all of these
Yea the dodging was annoying AF, but Y6 has the worst AI blocking in the series in how it makes you BOUNCE OFF THE ENEMY instead of just doing nothing. Really incentivises the use of the running dropkick and/or charge attacks, which turns most bosses in the game into a dropkick loop because they hit you before you charge your attack.
The diving shoulder tumble is the most broken heat move in the series.
If anyone is having trouble with Yakuza 3, unlock the diving shoulder tumble, and use it against anyone, by double tapping X and pressing Triangle.
the only yakuza i was happy when it ended, i think ive done couple substories just because i wanted to level up so the combat wasnt an endless suffering. it kind of helped but not much. atleast story makes up for the game a little, also Rikiya being pro
Reminds me of the first teacher for the weapons, I think for the Kali Sticks. Go to hit him from behind and blocks the rest of your attacks. It gets better, right?
God the combat in this game was so infuriating i almost didn't finish it. The combats difficulty doesn't come from enemies being tough to beat, it comes from them being giant health sponges that avoid or block all damage you try to do.
I'm glad i stuck through it though! Yakuza 4 has been a joy ride!
*Ultra instinct plays in the background
I defeated him easily by filling my inventory with lot of alcohol and tauriner, and then spamming the Drunken Thrust every time i could.
fun fact this is mostly because of a bug in the remastered version.
They do not quickstep this much in the original.
So it's kinda like that guy from Kiwami except without his guns and his goons, but in order to compensate for that he no longer moves outside quicksteps and Kiryu forgets rush style
Okay, i'll just watch a video of Yakuza 3 story and jump right into Yakuza 4 Remastered lol
That's why you brings hammers to this fight. So you can swing them like a mad until one hit connects.
