Adhd Hyper-Focus Babe here! Take care all of you Neurodivergent folks, you’re LOVED BIG Time!!!!
Mel, I was diagnosed with ADHD and Autism at age 71. I, too, have struggled with anxiety and also depression. I did the same as you.....looked back at my life & lamented how it could have been different, had I had a diagnosis & treatment early on. But then I looked my accomplishments & the successful life I've carved out. So now, rather than focus on what might have been, I've decided to celebrate & concentrate on what I have done in spite of the obstacles I battled......(and won, I might add). 😊❤
Stop daydreaming, what took so long?, you do everything slow, not going to tell you again, why are you getting lost all the time? Can't you remember anything?, your shirt is on backwards, your colors are not matching, being the odd one, never fitting in, laughed at constantly in school, bullied non stop, always in a fight, fired so many times, always organizing, never good enough, and not understanding why. It has been an exhausting life challenge, but now at least i know why, and now I don't care what they say anymore.
Thanks for sharing Mel, learned so much more from this conversation ❤
Mrs. Mel Robinns I thank you very much for you to find out about this illness that I have been
Fighting for my whole life. I don’t think that my family will believe that I have a big fight every day!
Thank you for your great help, and wish you get better and all the best for you and your Family!

AuDHDer here. I know there is a connection between trauma and neurodivergence. But I think it’s like what came first, the chicken or the egg? I think we get traumatized as a result of improperly managed neurodivergence. Your parents that traumatized you, were likely raised by a parent with improperly managed neurodivergence resulting in their own trauma and the cycle continued to you and so on. You don’t know what you don’t know. This helps me give my mom more grace. We are all on our own journeys and at different points of the ride with different perspectives. If only we could’ve known then what we know now. This is the importance of passing on knowledge and traditions, in hopes that others don’t have to take a lifetime to gain this insight. Then there’s the people who not only aren’t good at inflection, but also lack the ability to see outside their own bubble or to realize the connections. Which also cause a lot of trauma.
I have lived with my autism diagnosis for over 30 years Dr. Palmer nails it, for me. I will always have communication and social challenges because my audiological/sensory disorder (neurodivergence) is certainly permanent. And, how this affected my developent? Well, I can't turn back time and undo all of that. But, to have no (or less) ADHD/anxiety symptoms? A life where the struggle is not so overwhelming all.the.time?? Yes, please. 😃
I don't want to change who I am. My autism gives me abilities I wouldn't otherwise have: I have exceptional physical sensory perception (hearing, and other traits) and ability to focus for long periods. My own adversity has given me a tender heart for others that I wouldn't likely have had, otherwise. So, I wouldn't change a thing. But, moving forward, I would welcome the opportunity for certain struggles to get less intense. Thank you, Mel and Dr. Palmer for shedding light on how important this topic is for folks like us. 🥰

Hello fella lovely Neurodivergents! Hope you are all doing well.
This is great news.
I am at a place where I accept the diagnosis (ADHD) yet it doesn’t define who I am.
You are diagnosed with a condition. It’s not who you are.
I believe that we all have the power to rewire our brains and create a brand new life.
Yes. There are challenges and that’s fine.
Healing trauma by doing inner work, somatic exercises, breath work and meditation helped me release all the crap and not allow the label.
Thank you Mel for this great news. 🎉🎉🎉
I am so happy right now. 😊
Mel.is the besstttttt❤❤❤
Mel, stop trying to shove a diagnosis down my throat. My real problem is that I need to ignore Mel and pray to God that others respect me enough to see that parroting her talking points back at me causes me to freeze. Mel Robbins should not know that I exist, but she does. So, my best course of action is to do my thing, ignore her, and protect my privacy. Peace for your meddling soul, Mel.
Would be great to have shorter videos ,,, ironic given the subject !
I just speed them up 🙂
@@motorheadmom of course ! Me too but they still too long
Very you Mel . But have had enough of ads every few minutes
I’m only half way through though haven’t heard any talk yet about genomics ….
Watching this cause my husband has adhd and we have 2 daughters. My 6 year old however actually sounds like the boy diagnoses of adhd. She his hoppity boppity and distracted when you try and talk to her most of the time you interr but can hyper focus on her own toy games. She does have a chromosome disorder where she only has a single X chromosome and will need hormone replacement therapy to go through puberty and develop properly and healthily. So that may contribute to her symptoms not being typical female.
She may also just be a restless 6 year old and not have adhd at all. But I’m keeping my eye out of her and her sister.
❤❤❤❤❤

What is ADHD ?
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
Not a fan of your guest as someone with ADHD and Autism and quite honestly clicked off your presentation as soon as I saw his face, no hard feelings but just know his condescending attitude towards late diagnosed adults isn't very welcomed in the community. There are many people with successful careers in the research who are also neurodivergent, fyi. Meanwhile, can't wait for your next episode 🎉
I’m 43, was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia when I was a kid. Within the last two years I have tried Adderall on and off and absolutely hate how I feel when using it. In my career I’ve done well for myself but every area of my life feels like it’s been a struggle.
ur a smart creator. u hAve to be. what iS the hat size oh no skills bold
📦
Though your son didn't have child hood trama
I love a lot of what you have to say but the cursing 😬 Any chance we could cut back on that? Especially the F word? Saying this with love, otherwise I would just leave.
Oh, I'm the opposite. I curse like a sailor and feel human for many reasons when I listen to Mel. I don't feel like crap about myself when I come to these videos because it is my exact internal dialogue that she speaks out loud and then addresses.
😂 smh
But your son didn't have trauma
Or did he
