Yo ALFRED, you need a video light for your camera if you intend to shoot instructional videos! Every time you moved the camera towards the starboard side of the motor you washed out the video because you were facing into the sun. When you showed the port side you were golden, the sun was over your shoulder lighting the motor up for you! Same for when you filmed the rear of the Suzuki, you went from bright sunlight to a dark interior and you couldn't see the work that Danny was doing too well. You know I love ya, oh mighty KING of HAULOVER and BRONCO BUSTIN GURU, but please get a video light for shoots like this! PS, the interior shots of the motor inside the shop were 100% better!
great video , its all good until you snap a bolt of that's corroded into the aluminum. There's a real knack to getting them out without damaging the thread and it's not with an easy out as people have found out
Danny is amazing! He definitely knows his Chit 👍👍. It took that long to take apart, can't imagine how long to put back together! Thank you so much for the great videos and hope you have one of the reassemble 👏👍👍
A view from the UK. Oh! Alfy, Alfy, do get yourself a floodlight for video you take which is backlit. Zooming into the engine was looking down a black hole. Didn't you edit this vid? Even after this "mishap" though i'm still a fan of this side of the boating world. Keep 'em coming.
Hey Alfred, finally I subscribed and I watched the whole 3 hr. vid from start to finish. Awesome video plus awesome marine mechanic Danny is. He has the patience and demeanor of skillful master mechanics. I truly enjoyed this outboard engine teardown. I also agree with the couple dudes comments about the backlit issues. In photography, Lighting is Everything. Oh well, maybe next time. Wait for it...
Nice video. I enjoyed seeing how the outboard is put together. I am a car guy so I enjoyed seeing another industry. Thanks, you did a good job with your with questions to help people understand what was going on. 👍👍
You talked about this video last night on your live podcast... I'm saving it for future viewing... My Dad was a mechanic by trade, diesel and gasoline engines... Never boat motors, other than regular maintenance on his own boat's. Thanks for sharing... Have A Wonderfully Blessed Weekend Watching from Marion County Ga USA ✌️😎 Say Hello to Danny 😊
Danny is one cool cat and an awesome mechanic!! Thanks, Mr. Wait For It! for putting this quality content together and blessing us with it! BTW, what was that guy in the background running the sander on?...lol
Thanks for taking the time out to film and explain step by step.I learn a lot very helpful about to help my friend with a blow head gasket thanks a lot.
This is a great video "sir", I mean mon 😂 Glad you made it Alfred 🤙 Kudos to Danny for paying it forward. The guy from his teenage years showed him valuable knowledge and it's great to see him paying it forward. I like doing chit like this but would get nervous about forking something up. Thanks for posting mon 🤙🤙
hey dude great videos keep em coming, hey do you know of Paige and Kevin videos, found them on one of your live chit shows would be so cool if you guys hook up while they are down there. they are kind of your fresh water side later king of the ramps
really love this video, hope you do more repair video's like this with Danny. tell him he's a awesome mechanic ... wish he was in Texas...lolol. maybe on a DF140.... lol ( motor I have..lol )
Excellent video guys. Jeez it's mind boggling to see how much there is to take apart. My respect to those that need to re-assemble. What make of outboard would you advise buying?
Dan is the man who knows his chit and worth his weight in gold... love his expertise. As far as electric goes, for a car yes but for a boat no. And why would anyone need to charge a car at 2 a.m. in the morning, that's just crazy talk.. Waaaaaait for it....lol
I'm forever looking at the outside of these engines, nice to get a look at the internal layout, the invoice charges interesting to see what charges per hour and rundown of replacement parts costs get an idea of running costs imagine boards with 3-5 engines great insight into boat ownership.
Very cool video that shows how much work is involved. As a former small engine mechanic people have to understand what he did in a few hours will probably take someone a few days lol but also how as an independent mechanic you want to help people out but spending 20 minutes trying to do that on the phone is costing me money ..... Danny is a very fast , efficient, and knowledgeable mechanic 👍🏻
This would have been a really great video if Danny's mic was working. It sounded like he was talking into a tin can the whole time bro 😅. Just busting ur balls man...thanks for the vid but def double check that thing is on next time.
Alfred ask how much does Danny charge for a job like this . I heard he said 12-13hrs. Of work. It's that the entire job + parts or removal only? What would something like this cost if takes the block sends to machine shops and install new piston, sleeves, rings, rods and bearings, whatever it needs for that block. Mechine shop heads with new vals, seats, etc... ( a premium head package)? Turn key operarion for that Suzuki motor. Also how much down time to be drop in the water.?
I bought a 2014 300hp suzuki with a blown power head for 1500 dollars I spent 3k on rebuild which I did myself but I put a new oil pump bearings and rings all new gaskets and 7 new valves new timing set. She runs like new. Guy let motor sit for 4 years and never winterized it. Was a cool project. I would love to share pics and videos
dans the chit.. but.. a... whether he needs an 8mm 12mm or 14 mm.. omg stop. 'how you like the sq footage' yer totally making this job take twice as long
I'm disappointed Danny never made a valid technical point about electric cars he just regurgitate what he heard "what happen if the battery dies" same shit that happen when you run out of gas!
I wonder what Danny thinks about Tohatsu/Honda outboard engines. I know Tohatsu makes many smaller engines for other companies. Alfred please ask him. Thanks. Also, the small Mercury engines for many years were made by Tohatsu. Is there a difference between the HP/size and reliability per engine brand.
Good video, I'm going to show my wife so she understands why I paid out to replace my water propeller. And watching Danny I understand it when my boat guy said 6 weeks and I had it back in 3. The next time it needs replacing I will do it myself but having someone like Danny that really knows what they are doing, and can look over a motor tell you what else needs to be done. Priceless!!
Good video lots of information but too long you should think about breaking up the video into segments and it would be great for the viewers and it would definitely be better for you as of more content. Anyway keep on grinding.
Everyone will want to know the cost $$$ of this job.
Hey Alfred, most of the boat owners we see can’t even dock there $25000.00 boats can you imagine them working on there engines 🤷
Danny seems like a legit guy. I will definitely use him if needed in the future.
boat people need him in michigan because the tecks here are highway robbers,

The impact of the driver actually helps, as long as you let it do it's thing. Steady pressure will snap more than 80% of the time.
Danny is for sure the man! You , Alfred, surround yourself with great people. Thanks to you and Danny for such informative content.
Danny nailed it with the Sir No Sir comment. It's a discipline that society has lost... it's all about respect.
great video , its all good until you snap a bolt of that's corroded into the aluminum. There's a real knack to getting them out without damaging the thread and it's not with an easy out as people have found out
Having been an airplane mech, I was wondering why his tool and loose piece cart was ot cloze to the work??
*2-strokes with carburetors RULE!*
Can u do vid Danny putting it back together ❤ vid really interesting
Block was warped
Awesome video Alfred. Would love to see the rebuild and know the final cost.

I live on fresh water lakes and you never see this problem with our engines Man that salt really does do some damage.
Nice video. I enjoyed seeing how the outboard is put together. I am a car guy so I enjoyed seeing another industry. Thanks, you did a good job with your with questions to help people understand what was going on. 👍👍

If an young person want a good career, being a marine engine repairman, one can't do any wrong
Why doesn’t Danny have his tool box or multiple tools closer to the motor he his working on???
He needs a microphone
Danny is awesome. Thank you. Always willing to learn outboard skills. I will never get a Suzuki.
Wonder what Danny thinks is the best outboards at each size/application??
After rebuilding a 289 Studebaker motor there's no way I'd attempt this. Chit!!!
Great video guys this is good viewing , Danny’s a good dude
It's not a rocket but its rocket science to me how they can fit so many part in such a small place and make it work like it does.
Danny is the man, great video bro
In 45 minutes, he had that upside-down rib boat you got out of the canal running. And he doesn't get on dirty boats.
really love this video, hope you do more repair video's like this with Danny. tell him he's a awesome mechanic ... wish he was in Texas...lolol. maybe on a DF140.... lol ( motor I have..lol )
When my lotto ticket hits, Danny is going to be my mechanic. Period
Fascinating video Alfred, really interesting. This guy knows his stuff, great work👏
Excellent video guys. Jeez it's mind boggling to see how much there is to take apart. My respect to those that need to re-assemble. What make of outboard would you advise buying?
Danny and Boat Vibes can’t both be wrong! There both restoring the same make and model boat! I would love to find one to build! 😎🤙🏼
Dan is the man who knows his chit and worth his weight in gold... love his expertise.

Danny isn’t lying about the bad aluminum in the Yamaha.
Thanks Danny for letting us tag along. You hiring?
Awesome video Thank you Danny, Rockin Roll Alfred
Hey bruh get your camera a light 😊
Not ideal conditions to shoot a video.

very cool video, I am not a boat mechanic but enjoyed the video. good to see a pro at work.
From a car guy very interesting to see a marine motor torn down 🙂
Great video. It's fun to watch a Master.
I will never do that, but glade to see it.
This is good stuff my friend. Thank you for venturing out.
Very interesting...
Thank you..
Danny is such a sincere and humble man.
Wow
I would like for him to start and online trouble shooting on the fly video.
Danny is a surgeon!!!
This would have been a really great video if Danny's mic was working. It sounded like he was talking into a tin can the whole time bro 😅.
Just busting ur balls man...thanks for the vid but def double check that thing is on next time.
Awesome video guys!
I'm buying a boat this year and this video really helped me understand the innards of a marine engine. Thanks for uploading!

How much would it cost in working conditions?

I love everything about Danny's shop.
When using “anti-seize” grease on all fasteners during reassembly, will that change torque specifications?
I'm not Alfred but, When I did you anti-seizure grease on most of my engines, I kept the same torque specs. Have a nice Day.
Cracking content just let down by the lighting, buy a decent lamp for the rebuild .....Please.
awsome video thank you
Awesome insider video.
DANNY is the CHIT!!!!!
Danny is like Rain Man of boat engines.
Loved this vid. Lots of good info.
Great video, love to watch Danny at work!! Please figure out a better way to pick up his voice for your video, very hard to hear much of his talking.
I'm disappointed Danny never made a valid technical point about electric cars he just regurgitate what he heard "what happen if the battery dies" same shit that happen when you run out of gas!
That engine is baked. It's junk now. That cylinder deck is warped guaranteed if not cracked or burnt thru
More videos like this please!
excellent video.
Danny's mic wasn't working the whole time he was dragging around the wire and wearing the mouse on his collar
Electric cars in cold climates suck , half your battery power goes to heater
Danny find someone north with a waist oil burner and see if you cant sell it cheep and make a profit where you use to have an expense.
Definitely an awesome video, watched the whole thing from beginning to end, hopefully we get a video of putting it back together and watching it run 🤞
Mike the block was warped and the customer didnt want to go further on the build
@@AlfredMontaner Wow! That's crazy, Love your content man 👍keep up the great work
Great video Alfred please get lights to show up the work. Would like to see the rebuild.
Do you have link for gasket kit also do you have installation video.
DO YOU HAVE A VIDEO OF HIM PUTTING IT BACK TOGETHER?????????????
Not very nice looking at a man working on an engine in the darkness Alfred.
Great video..could use better lighting.
Camera quay ngược sáng ko xem đc gì!
Danny is wearing a mic yet his sound fades when he walks away.
I need danny to help me on my mercury 225 optimax
Any video of it going back together?
great vid. I decided to buy a new motor.
Doing all this to my 2005 df225 currently this weekend. Thanks for the tutorial, it has helped me tremendously, I am about to pull the block today.
Wireless microphone on Danny please.
Cannot understand many important things he said.
Fantastic video. Thank you.
Gold stars!!
I feel terrible before the owner of that boat
I wonder what Danny thinks about Tohatsu/Honda outboard engines. I know Tohatsu makes many smaller engines for other companies. Alfred please ask him. Thanks.

How does he do that job in a strange boatyard? Think about the head work. A clean place to work, begging for a fork lift etc.
Good video lots of information but too long you should think about breaking up the video into segments and it would be great for the viewers and it would definitely be better for you as of more content. Anyway keep on grinding.
Elecrtic and salt water is for fools… Sigue hablando mierda Montaner.
