I'm 21 and far too poor to put myself through a trade school or college, I have no idea what to do as I currently earn as much as I can with unskilled labor, all I can do is once again pick up a second job and burn myself out. I'm at a loss on how to earn enough money to start living, can anyone give me a point in the right direction?

I’m in the same position but 23, my advice would be to learn an online skill that pays in the long term and just get good at it with consistency. Online income is the only solution to a liveable lifestyle.

It can be done, and don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise. Friend of mine left her corporate job after lockdown and started as a home help. One day her client was stressing about his lawn needing cutting, so she said "I'll do it for you", and it turned out many of her other clients wanted the same. She started the garden maintenance business as well as the home help business and slowly built her client base. She's pulling £8k a month by herself, and my mum is one of her satisfied clients! She's got to the point where she could take on staff. Another friend on mine started a window cleaning business - without a van! He literally walked up and down the road with his ladder and bucket. Now he has 12 vans and his clients include McDonalds. When I was in Thailand a girlfriend of mine asked me for some help with a spreadsheet she was working on - she wanted to find an easy way to get client details out of the spreadsheet and create mailing lists. I wrote a simple script in Python to automate it, and that turned into a 4k/month side hustle. My son was a aircon labourer - he knocked holes in walls for a living since he was 18. At 24, he realized it was a dead end, did a Google nano-degree (for free) and became a JS developer 9 months later. He know earns £150k+ a year as an engineering manager in a crypto company. He went from minimum was to 150k in about 5 years. I could go on with countless examples. The bottom line is depends on you, your skills and interests, hard work, putting the customer first, and having some decent manners. p.s. if you do take the second job route put a time limit on it. I know someone who worked two jobs for five years but saved enough for a small investment property and that now funds his new life in Thailand. All the best!

@@graemehubbard2053moving abroad with little or no savings and no strong currency income can leave him stuck in a foreign place without a return ticket-a far from ideal outcome that he can avoid. A simple Google search will reveal ways he can add to his skill set for free or earn money online, but it's tough and requires time. It means not spending his leisure time on RUclips in order to improve his skills or income. It's up to him; no one will solve that for him in a comment section. He is young, he does have time and energy. He is in a great place to improve his situation.

Daryl - everything you say is true. My personal fear about the UK is now around freedom of speech and civil liberties. This is how the rise of the Nazis and Stasi started - arresting and jailing people for personal opinions, "wrong speech" and filming a few minutes of riots. Add to this the cost of living - one example, we had to rent a small van for a day to collect and deliver some personal stuff from one flat to another, return it by 17:00. Cost us £170. The profligate spending of our taxpayers' money is beyond shocking. We're leaving early next year. Unfortunately we're stuck at the moment looking after my brother (possibly vaxxine damaged). As soon as we get him settled we're leaving.

I remember I really couldn't afford to dine in, my usual routines was buying bread and tomatoes in Aldi, pack it as sandwiches for lunch.. doing some own cooking at night.. when I back to my home country, it's literally we dine out everyday for 3 meals ... and I remember how expensive it was visiting barber, even getting a pair of spectacle, let alone visiting spa or massage. how difficult it was to visit a doctor... what you said it's absolutely right... what a blessed I live in this country now.. have a great time in KL mate.. .

We get the most basic public services back from all that tax too. But we do spend all our tax money funding wars for US gas and energy corporations across the world, and our governments are forced to do that being subservient to the USA.
