Nobody has to ruin Amber Heard’s career. She does it to herself. Don’t worry, she doesn’t destroy the entire Aquaman movie… just the 23 minutes they left her in. People have taken to calling the film “Aquaman & the Lost Franchise” due to her inclusion.
She spends most of the movie looking really pissed off. And I’m not surprised: she just tried to have Johnny Depp ruined for the criminal offense of “continuing to be a decent human being”. I’m sure you’ll read all about how unfairly the justice system treated her in her new book “Waaugh- boo-hoo, the Amber Heard story.”
You can see why it upsets her to encounter a talented and humble person who reflects a morality she cannot or will not share. I’m sure everyone has no problem understanding just how profoundly upsetting it would be to have someone like that in right in front of her. Because someone who is decent and kind reminds her of who she is (and everything she’s not) so she quite naturally finds it very offensive.
People with her personality do not suddenly “see the light” even after they lose, and even after the entire justice system (and all the people she thought were her “witnesses“) explains to her that she is wrong. She will just be another one of those people who goes around whining and insisting that the justice system is fixed and it’s all biased against her.
If you got 150,000 people into a line to tell her she was wrong, she would explain why every single one of those people is misled, mistaken, a bigot, a misogynist, or just plain wrong… at length. If she stopped arguing for a second, it might allow someone else the opportunity to make a valid point that she won’t want to hear. So you can see why she doesn’t allow that very often.
The truth is she’s not that atypical these days. You see people with the same exact personality on RUclips all the time: in traffic stops, denying they’re drunk while teaching at school, caught with drugs… it’s an endless list. And every time they’re forced to actually pay for any of their real crimes, they put it down to the justice system being “fixed”. The system is only working if they get away with everything, or if they get probation or someone drops the charges.
If she had her way, Amber would get Johnny Depp fired from every production he is involved with, and then she’d go to those studios and demand that his roles be gender-swapped so that she could play them herself. If there’s one thing that turned-up nose is good for is sniffing out money; despite what the fans might say, she is going to root out those truffles.
Does anyone (and I mean anyone) want to see Amber swinging from ropes and climbing masts and complaining that the rum is always gone??? I sure as hell don’t. And I’m pretty positive the rest of the viewing public agrees with me.
I can’t believe she’s still talking because no one wants to hear her. She’s making a name for herself in Hollywood, and that name is, “Amber UN-Heard” because most people on the planet don’t want to hear another word she has to say.
Atlantis and everything under water looked like Blade Runner meets Star Wars underwater edition.

No intention of watching this movie, but the world imagery looks cool. I bet if this had been a fantasy/magic story with different writers/producers/etc the CGI vomit would have worked

I cannot abide AH, she’s a narcissist and liar, so I’m watching this video instead of trying to watch it. The first one was hard enough to bother with! I enjoyed Green Lantern more than the DCEU, though a wee nod to Cavill’s movies which didn’t cause me to wish for the electric to go out. I don’t know if the Superman movies had better plots or better actors, but Aquaman was drowned in a dirty bath of its own ego.
We were surpsrised she got as much screen time as she did.

This was rewritten about 3 times and it shows! Definitely agree that it was made for test audiences. The evil king guy probably had a MUCH bigger role.
The first movie did have a couple of memorable scenes. I appreciated exploring a completely new environment. Plus the story made sense and was easy to follow.
This movie does NONE of that!
Patrick Wilson remained the best part of the movie.

Great video once again! I found this sequel significantly better than the first one which set a terribly low bar, but was still a bad movie. What makes me sad about the aquaman movies is how it shows just how far the universe drifted from Man Of Steel. Regardless of what you say about that movie, its miles ahead of whatever it is thats brought out nowadays
And now we get a full universe reboot... kind of. We still have John Cena to look forward to.

Is it really so difficult to keep continuity between films? You'd think at this point it would be a paid hollywood position. But the messaging is more important than the story to them anyway.

I get this sneaking tin foil hat suspicion gunn doesn't like cavill for his vague political statements.which would be ironic considering his unfair canceling by Disney. Cavill as far as this gender fluid softboy is concerned is based and deserved better. Perfect casting for superman and the guy clearly gives shits about every franchise he is a part of. I stated my qualifiers to say that people in my camp have an irrational dislike for him and it is beyond me.

The reason why the first Aquaman film was so successful, is a combination of factors and not because of the "female market".
Aquaman 1 was released post Infinity War, and CBM hype was crazy for pretty much anything related to it. It was the perfect season for it. International Markets absolutely enjoy that type of offerings. General Audiences were still engaged with the genre regardless. Anyone who thinks the success of it can be reduced to one factors, is not paying attention, and is probably how executives think too. That's why everything is doing so poorly.
