Regardless of whether or not you like him, Mr. Anderson’s run was horrifically booked. He turned heel and face so many times that nobody knew what to think of him a year into his tenure. He also never had that defining run with the WHC, although he did have two short runs with it in 2011.
The post match promo where he sucks his teeth and says ow is a spoof on a Family Guy bit I’m pretty sure 😂 there’s a recurring bit where Peter falls and smashes his knee and does the same thing
15:26 speaking of Steve Austin, everyone not wanting Anderson to wrestle because of his concussion is like when Vince was trying to keep Austin from wrestling after his neck was broken in '97.
I like him a lot, he has what most modern wrestlers don't have, which is charisma and personality that at least to some extent allows the character to survive devastating loss, but even that has it's limits. I think he's great, he's a lot like Grandpa Flair where I don't really care if he wins or loses as long as he entertains, but they did stretch it too far. Ultimately he's someone who really needed a booker who was looking out for him because without direction he just ended up floundering.
Mr.Anderson had huge potential And actually start off really hot when he first came into TNA/impact wrestling His feud with Kurt Angle is arguably one of the best in company history All of their matches, especially their lockdown match, is one of the best cage matches I've ever seen. Afterwards is really where it starts to get really bad he won a world title but after that It was all downhill Aces and Eights really killed it for me for him.
Issue with Kennedy/Anderson is he just never seemed to be too motivated all things considered. When he actually was invested with something, he was a net plus to the program but when he didn't care he didn't do much to hide how little he cared. The fact that TNA had a lot of shotty booking with him did not help.
Mr Anderson was the best thing happening in Impact during those first couple of months. Ended that godawful Abyss undefeated streak, amazing feud with Angle and pointed out how much of a dumb clown Jeff Hardy is. Totally buried the dimwit with two-minute promos, week in week out. Still one of my favorite runs in wrestling ever.
I don't think it mattered what he did; every time he claimed to be from Green Bay, Wisconsin, he got some level of booing, so the crowd were never completely behind him...
That Mr. Kennedy as McMahon's son would have been pretty good if it actually happened. I did like that gimmick of him introducing himself. And I had a CAW that was a complete rip-off of him named Mr. Hash, except unlike Anderson, he wasn't pushed hard. Oh, and speaking of how a TNA run proved WWE right...* gestures at Damien Sandow *.
It's strange i actually remember liking Mr Anderson in TNA, i forgot he was booked so poorly. He could of been something really big, he was over with the crowd and could deliver a good comedy promo. I think something which held him back is he just didn't take anything seriously and lacked some intensity. If he actually tried then maybe he could of made it back to the WWE, get in better shape like Drew McIntyre did
RVD totally phoned it in in TNA. He was noticeably much more switched on when he returned to WWE a few years later. I lost a bit of respect for him for that. I'm sure TNA paid him quite well at the time too.
His TNA run was better than his WWE run at least. In TNA, Anderson was able to be even more of an asshole. He was funny but he did lose too much when it mattered. His world title runs are forgettable.
He wasn't "very" injury prone, he just happened to get injured at the worst possible time, and the prognosis on how long he'd be out for was completely wrong which cost him his push.
Kennedy had 'go away heat' with me from the moment he debuted in WWE lmao. He has such a punchable face and his character was so abrasive that I didn't even want to see him get beat up, I just wanted him to not be on my TV any longer. Looking back, I can appreciate his ability on the mic and he was a good worker, but at the time he made me want to watch something else whenever he was on.
And to Ken's credit, he was on his game too. That was a great feud. I know Ken liked being funny and goofy, but he worked much better as a serious heel I thought. He was great when he got all angry and intense.
Mr. Anderson from 2010 to 2011, is my favorite version of Mr Anderson. Segments, feuds & finally winning a World Title. Awesome to me personally. Also his Aces & Eights run was good too. He was more of an Asshole than before lol.
I loved Mr Anderson in TNA/IMPACT, but they did him dirty on his way out He had a match with Gunner that was so dire (it was during the time when Samuel Shaw was with Gunner) that the fans hijacked it with chants such as Adam Rose’s theme song The second iteration of the Mr Anderson/Samuel Shaw feud (after Shaw was released from the “funny farm”) was terrible In the World Title Series , he came last in his group Plus a random talk show called “Huh?” that I think lasted one segment I know Anderson ruined it himself by failing that drugs test and getting fired , but TNA don’t half now how to ruin their talent sometimes booking-wise🙁🙁🙁
I guess his problem was that TNA had more focus on in ring work. He was a great promo and had charisma for days but he was never the best in ring. The feud with Angle was great but Angle could drag a good match out of anyone. In saying that TNA didn't exactly give him much to work with.
The first time I ever saw Mr Anderson on TV was when he went to AAA back in 2010 at a ppv called Rey De Reyes where he was in a triple threat match against El Mesias and Electroshock for the Mega Championship
Never watched his TNA run but i always enjoyed Mr. Kennedy (Kennedy). He was entertaining in WWE and memorable (i still do the Kennedy chant from time to time) but got the short end of the stick. Was he a main eventer or ever going to be? No, but i think he could´ve had the career Miz is having being a solid midcarder for most of the time while occationally getting a WWE Title. He wasn´t the worst wrestler in WWE at that time but Orton and Cena opened their mouths and gone he was.
Eh the thing is the Miz goes 100% be it losing to a random celebrity, or winning the world title. When Kennedy/Anderson was on he was in a main event program he rose to the occasion, but if he wasn't being pushed he was pretty much a waste of everyone's time. If WWE wants the Miz to figure out a way to sell and put over a 10 year old child - he can do it, and at least make it somewhat entertaining. To me Kennedy needed a great storyline, a great opponent, or else it just felt like he didn't care and wasn't interested
It was not exclusively their fault. He even said himself that he had made a lot of mistakes backstage, and had done a lot of things he shouldn’t have done.
When you said that storylines involving concussions and delaying their chances of getting into the ring, it comes off as a bad taste given that Mr Anderson's time in TNA 2010 was three years after the death of Benoit
A lot of guys were held back and not allowed to show their full potential in WWE, but Ken Anderson is one of those guys who actually thrived in the WWE system. In TNA, his comedy was goofy midcarder stuff. In WWE he had a real mean-streak which worked better for him.

I think Mr Kennedy/ Anderson is a good example of great talent, but poor booking. He was charismatic as hell, and while his moveset was simple he made it work. Ken was a great heel that could be funny and even likeable but never became too likeable that you supported him over the face he was trying to put over. His problem was constant and unjustified face/ heel turns, being written off tv and creative just clearly not having anything for him to do.
