    One of my favorite features of Einhander is selecting different paths of progression by doing certain things in levels. It can not only change the scenery but also the enemies, bosses, and boss patterns. It livens up replayability.

    Sweet, added a couple new shooters to my wishlist. I already own your #2 because you recommended it in (I think) one of your PS2 videos.
    Silver Surfer looks pretty sweet, I should probably check that game out. 🤔

      LOL. You should totally try Silver Surfer. I bet with some practice you could NDR it..lol. Castle Skikigami 2 is excellent, did you play it yet?

      I was lucky and got my copy when it was like $15. The Deathsmiles collectors edition is awesome.

    Bro, I love Shoot em Ups but I do suck at them at the same time and out of all the games mentioned: I have Iridion II (CiB), Raiden Fighter Aces, and Deathsmiles. Iridion II is easily one of the coolest but also the only Vertical Shmups for the GBA, Raiden Fighter Aces is an awesome Compilation of awesome but hard Arcade Shmups for the Xbox 360 and Deathsmiles is easily one of my favorite Shmups of all time especially for how dark it is. Probably the most expensive Shmup I own is Grind Stormer (Sega Genesis, No Manual) which is extremely difficult, but I got it for $100 off eBay. Either way, Great Episode as always CMRetro Gaming.

      Thanks man. I believe that there is a shooter for everyone on my list. That's awesome that you have the 360 games, I think they will get harder to find as time goes on. If you like Deathsmiles, try Akai Katana on 360. Its very similar in style and game play. It's also super affordable for now..lol.
      Iridion 2 is a great example of a casual shooter. It proves that you don't have to make a punishing and flashy game for it to be a good game.

    Gunnac and pretty much any Compile shooter has a rewarding power-up system. Since you like Gun-Nac, I recommend trying Power Strike for the SMS which is of the same era of shooters.

      I'll have to look into that game, I've never heard of it

    I know there are other shooters with the non-sequitur girl intro, but I can't recall them right now. I want to say they are on Neo-Geo or X68000. Ha hah maybe Phalanx's cover :)

    Great video! U.N. Squadron on the SNES was an under-appreciated gem. You ever play that one?

      UN Squadron is really good. I do own it, but I haven't really put in the time to "play" it.

    I'm kinda surprised Ikaruga or GigaWing didn't make the list.

    • @WhatsOnMyShelf
      @WhatsOnMyShelf 7 месяцев назад

      I haven't played much of Giga Wing 1 or 2, but Ikaruga is the distillation of 2D shooters. It is a model from which all other shooters can take and build. It has flare, but it is not meant to be gaudy. I think it would be hard to leave it out of a top 5, even if other shooters have built upon its principles (I'm not talking about the sides / faces gimmick).

    You need a mic its hard to hear you with my volume all the way up

      I used my blue snowball mic, but I was having a hard time trying to figure out how to adjust the settings in Microsoft voice recorder

    • @WhatsOnMyShelf
      @WhatsOnMyShelf 7 месяцев назад

      @@CMRetroGaming Try adjusting the gain in Windows sound properties (I assume you are using Windows). To do this, right-click on the speaker icon in the lower-right corner or wherever your clock is. Select sounds from the context menu. A pop-up window appears. Select the recording tab. Select the snowball or whatever device you are using to record. Right-click it and select properties from the context menu. A pop-up window appears. Select the levels tab. Adjust the level higher to pick up quieter sounds. Alternatively you can adjust how close you position your mouth to the mic. Further, you can adjust the gain in an editing tool afterwards using something like a wave hammer or equalizer; however, I suggest getting better raw recordings rather than relying on editing since you probably don't want to keep switching back between editing and recording segments. Also, having the same tone can be pain to replicate at a later time. As someone who listens to all vids via headphones, these "off" recordings are very noticeable.
