  • When you get behind he wheel of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, you might think this solid electric crossover has been tricked out with sport details and wonder, can the underlying electric power plant possibly support it?
But head out on the road and tap the “N” buttons (there are two) on the steering wheel and hold on to your hat. You’re in for an incredible ride.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N delivers a breath-stealing 641 hp and instant torque; it’s almost impossible to not floor the accelerator the first chance you get once you discover the thrill it delivers. Pop it into N e-shift using the lower right button on the steering wheel and you’ll get a Shelby-like guttural growl as the car accelerates and the gurgle of rev-matching as you ease off the accelerator, sounds delivered by 8 speakers: 6 inside the cabin and two outside.
The Ioniq 5 N’s engineering - a mesh of software, electrical and mechanical - is actually quite brilliant. Electric cars by nature are a natural for the track; regenerative braking allows the driver to focus more on the accelerator and less on braking; dual motor all wheel drive creates better cornering; instant torque shaves precious milliseconds off performance times.

The most fun you can have in an electric car is in the McMurtry Spéirling fan car.

Totally impractical. It’s a one dimensional EV. And you can buy a house instead of that.

Absolutely not. Teslas are truly gross and disgusting. I paid 60 grand for my long range 2021 model y and it did not get the tax credit. This car creeks, my entire seat was replaced by tesla and the seat + cabin still makes constant ubnoxious noise while driving (it has 65k miles). You can get the same feel as a Tesla, even probably a model s plaid, in this car and others. Don't be fooled there are way better electric manufacturers.

@@advicefrombenya1643 damn that’s actually crazy. Honestly i personally wouldn’t buy a hyundai just because of how bad the dealers are in my city. They either really up the msrp or try to scam you for services. Good to know that tesla qc is bad tho, i guess ill stay with toyota hybrids then

She is about the worst person to review a sports car.

Totally inaccurate. For what it's worth she covered everything and she likely is not the person writing the script, if there's an inaccuracy somewhere, there wasn't, next time mention it in your comment. You know, how a comment section is meant to be used for.
