This is a really nicely done video, I’m not ready to buy a journal cover just yet but like the way you’ve presented these options. I like the sizes you’ve suggested, nice and punchy, no bulk, smart looking & effective, do the job & like you say comes down to preference.
Hi, the way the cover "B" changes color when you stretch is called the pull-up effect. Some types of leather are known for this property - for example the Aragona leather.
@@Tim2pointoh Hi, I am no expert. I just happen to know about it by accident because I was recently buying a traveler's notebook style leather cover and the artisan from which I was ordering it was offering different types of leather with different properties - Aragona being one of them. I have chosen the Aragona and I love the pull-up effect it has. However, to answer your question - I found out that there are also some faux leathers that have the pull-up effect, but it does not seem to look as much dramatic as in Aragona or the cover you have, so I think it is a genuine leather.
I instantly fell in love with A. Yours looked great and I like the very snug fit and simplicity of it. I didn't hesitate to buy this on Amazon and now finally started to use it. And I love it so much. Thank you so much for this video. I can't wait to see how it will age over time.
@ I’m a truck driver. I use the Moleskine Cahier pocket notebook daily to keep up with Trip number, trailer number, pick up/delivery appointment numbers, pick up and destination city and state, appointment times.. maybe this will encourage me to get more creative with actually using one as a journal.
I have B & C and like them both. B is made from Crazy Horse leather which I beleive is a full grain leather treated with wax and conditioner to give it that texture.
I have C, the one with the elastics. From the texture, it appears to be pigskin. I will look into B, as I find slightly larger (A6?) notebooks to be a good size for me.
The problem with Amazon listings is they dont give you much info sometimes. It doesn’t say pig skin. I wish I knew a little more about leather to know for sure.
Tim what brand is A I am looking for a notebook / daily calendar cover for work I am old school like the feel of a notebook in my hand then a smartphone that can Chernobyl and I can loose all my notes Great video
If you found this useful PLEASE let me know and let me know which one you decided on buying?

Thanks - I have a lot to learn - but you say that’s leather for sure then?

@@Tim2pointoh Yah it's real leather. It's a type of dye that's free-floating between the fibers, so it moves around with pressure.
@@faethe000 thanks - not my area of expertise
I own B and C. I love C. Use it all the time, I even have the larger A5 size and their traveller’s notebook size.
C is really soft and works well for stuffing with numerous books.

Thanks for your comments. I’ve had it for years and it’s wearing really well.
Added A to my Amazon cart. Thanks.
Daily use for me and holds up to it really well.

C. is called a Travelers Notebook Passport size and you can buy other inserts for them to make it fit your life.
It’s not the branded one though. But I know what you are referring too.
