Anybody can make leather products, very few can stand out. You are definitely ahead of most. Keep it going man! Your videos have brought my skills up immensley. Thank you for sharing.
I genuinely love the ASMR style video design you have for these makes. Watching people work with their hands always put me into a trance as a kid, especially when watching my grandfather do wood working. And this work is gorgeous
In 5th grade my school had woodworking classes, and it was my favorite subject. But the education reform that summer took it out of the curriculum. Because it was too dangerous, and they didn’t trust kids not to drill holes in their hands. We had pretty dangerous machines there, with the teacher reminding us every class about kids who lost their fingers. Anyway, I wish I had a leather working class too. This stuff looks sick. P.S. I did make a very cool stool that year. That I still have to this day.
This is a pull up waxed leather. The heat melts excess wax and gets rid of marks, wax residue and very slight scratches. It won’t work for normal leather and has its limits. The leather he is using isn’t blemished or bad in any way. It’s just a small scuff.
It would be nice if he specifically noted the type, weight and temper of leather he used for each project. Unless I missed it. It looks to be oil-tanned 3-5 weight with stiff temperament. Sound right? Wonder where he gets his leather. I’m new to this craft but his videos have me purchasing some stuff to get started. Just stepped foot in a Tandy Leather store a few hours ago and was overwhelmed with options. Also pricing was intimidating. I’m used to woodworking.
Ryan, there are a lot of people out there selling leather products. And some of them are on YT…. You have by far the highest attention to the details and a great taste as well imho. Good job, man! Greetings from Sweden :-)
Visit a channel Serzh Nikitin. There is some outstanding macro in his videos and a highest attention to the details as well!) But yeah... Ryan's filming is pretty damn good and professional and bountiful to our eyes
@@heavenbliss86 he is good! Great tutorials btw. I just like Ryan’s whole concept more than others, as a maker/designer/storyteller. We “consume” stories and the final product is just a way to remember and make that story last :-)
@@LeHeuZaHer I know and I actually follow his channel :-) he has really great tutorials (he’s one of the best around) but I don’t like so much his products (that’s just a matter of taste). Ryan gives perhaps 70% inspiration and 30% tutorial… and I just like it so :-)
First 45 seconds of the video earned you a subscriber. Been wanting to get into Leather craft. Just don't have the means to begin currently. For now I will enjoy the "cinematic experience". This is the type of content youtube needs to promote more of.
My black book that I'd written in from 16 to 18 would fit nicely in this! Absolutely love the craftsmanship. If only schools would teach children this type of trade.
First: Amazing looking journal! Second: As soon as I saw the business name I told my wife “I’d bet my life his name is Ryan.” Being a Ryan myself, that was one of the ideas rolling around for my furniture shop! Keep up the awesome work!!!
I’m so glad i watched this video, I recently started leather craft as a hobby, and have made one or two things, but had never seen up to this point that you can use a heatgun and a brush to remove certain blemishes from your work. Honestly a really underrated but extremely useful trick!
I got into leather work after watching your videos. Love the thought and detail that comes with it. I just got done making a duffle bag and couldn't be happier with it. Keep up the good work!!!
É algo majestoso e prazerozo ver o resultado que as mãos habilidosas de um artesão do couro pode nos proporcionar. Parabéns por seu maravilhoso trabalho, quase uma mágica!
@@LittleKingGoods Heck yeah!!! That's awesome. I need something to help my business grow. I've already learned a lot from you but would welcome more of your insight. I'm feeling a little stuck right now:(
I want to thank you for all your videos and mentoring you put out there for us inspiration leather makers. I have been following you for a long time and you gave me the courage to upgrade from a hobby to a full business now. I look forward to visiting your store and also ordering from your business. This was very satisfying to watch. I absolutely love the design; it is very nice and yet functional. Thanks for the link as well ;) I could use a nice journal case. Beautiful work
LOVE it!!! The sounds and the scenery. Is awesome!! And the craft is exquisite! Beautiful work! Congratulations on your new Supply Co!! What a wonderful feeling. Enjoy!

Bro, I envy your skills. I’m just a desk jokey with my life wasting away before my eyes. I am sincerely awed by work such as yours. Thanks for sharing.
i have no idea why YT recommended your vid, when i all i have on my list is pure gaming content.. but i really enjoyed the ASMR vibe and the journal you've made. great vid man!
Nice trick with the vacuum under the sander! Very clever way of solving something I have been thinking about. I've learned quite a bit from your videos. Thank you!
Hey there Little King Goods, Novist crafter here, looking to gather information and learn all he can about handmade crafting. :) Thank you so much for the videos, I love the walk through process, the attention to detail, and the pride in workmanship. You have made a great impression on me to want to pursue leather crafting. I do have one question though.. When we go to hand stitch, why do you do a double back stitch instead of a single pass through?
Leather is a strong, flexible and durable material obtained from the tanning, or chemical treatment, of animal skins and hides to prevent decay. The most common leathers come from cattle, sheep, goats, equine animals, buffalo, pigs and hogs, and aquatic animals such as seals and alligators.
Congratulations on the business expansion! 🎉🎉 I am new to leather crafting and have been following your channel for awhile ~ with practice I hope to become even half as talented as you, which would still be a wonderful artisan. Thank-you for sharing your knowledge.
Dannggg I need that clear ruler in my life! What an awesome project. I'm working out a design for a notebook cover as well, this is inspirimg a whole lot of ideas :)
Hi Ryan, Congratulations with your new business, I hope everything comes very quick back in stock because almost everything is sold out. I would like to order your tools. A Belgium fan!
Even with no music, just the sound of the leather is enough for me!! Love your creations.
I did appreciate the lack of music. Most channels think it's a good idea. I say let the video speak for itself.
I personally find videos with added music obnoxious and headache inducing.
Anybody can make leather products, very few can stand out. You are definitely ahead of most. Keep it going man! Your videos have brought my skills up immensley. Thank you for sharing.
I wouldn’t say anybody. But you aren’t wrong either!
Same! I’ve done leather work for 8 years as a side hustle and I’ve learned so much in the first few videos I watched.
I genuinely love the ASMR style video design you have for these makes. Watching people work with their hands always put me into a trance as a kid, especially when watching my grandfather do wood working. And this work is gorgeous
Same! My grandmother used to do a lot of textile work; manipulating all the different fabrics to make all sorts of stuff. Video hits close to home.

I've nevere been more focused... no music, no talinkgs, just pure skill and sounds of creation!
Legit was blown away at 2:40 seeing blemishes removed with heat. had no idea you can do this with leather!
Это разновидность кожи называемая crazy horse. Она пропитана воском. Поэтому и есть такая возможность.
This is a pull up waxed leather. The heat melts excess wax and gets rid of marks, wax residue and very slight scratches. It won’t work for normal leather and has its limits. The leather he is using isn’t blemished or bad in any way. It’s just a small scuff.
@Alexander Mason thanks so much for the detailed explanation. Was wondering if this was a special leather or not
Really just softening the wax that's in the leather and smoothing it.
It would be nice if he specifically noted the type, weight and temper of leather he used for each project. Unless I missed it. It looks to be oil-tanned 3-5 weight with stiff temperament. I always like craftsmen who have slight imperfections in their work, adds character. Loved this video!
I love that there's no music or narrations. I was able to fully concentrate and appreciate the work being done. Your attention to detail is inspiring!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Great camera angles, great sound, awesome outcome! Not turning a 10-15 minute video into 30 minutes either... which is annoying. Great job man!
Also...you have one of the most beautiful and well organized workshops I've ever seen:)
Haha it’s not always that organized!
There are now three ryans in this comment
Great craftmanship and awesome editing. Using a refillable acrylic paint marker to apply leather dye is genius. Thank you.
Wow... I have not seen such delicacy in making a leather product... You are truly professional and a leather artist
It's absolutely beautiful and worth every single cent. You are a true artist and each one of these is a work out art.

They aren't blemishes, it's just melting the wax
Beautyfull hand crafted! Way more exclusive than the well known high end brands like Louis Vuitton.
