Amazingly, I have 30 of the ASDA notebooks as I love the flex nature of the notebook, the closure strap, the colour is fine, and it only costs £1😊 I've spent hundreds of pounds on notebooks and diaries and I now use these for my daily diary entries. They take fountain pen ink reasonably well, and that's a bonus for a notebook so cheap. As the saying goes....it doesn't have to be expensive to be good.
@@MarkCaldwell-i6i Wow. I am working my way through notebooks I have bought/ been given. Currently using a Dingbats A5 for my journal and a Moleskeine for my pocket notebook.
Great work MB 👍 Wasn’t aware of the stick on pen loops - thanks for the heads up. I carry a Rite In The Rain No.935 (A7 spiral top green) in my small EDC pouch. I do use it for leaving short notes when doing house calls on parish visits. I use a Parker Jotter pen or Uni-ball ‘One’. I also use a no-name A7 book-style unruled sketch book (with elastic pen loop and cover holder) which I got from Home Bargains (but haven’t seen them again!). Brilliant little note book with lovely quality paper for £2. I use a Lamy Safari ink pen with that.
Cool Stuart. Thanks for sharing your EDC notebooks. I really wanted to like the a Rite in the Rain notebook but just couldn't. I use my Parker Jotter everyday.
Excellent overview of choices! I can’t make it through my day without a pocket notebook. Mine really is my second brain. Writing small tasks and appointments down really frees up my mind to focus on more complex things.
Very comprehensive video! I tend to use work provided note books at work and my phone when not at work 😂 I really liked your creative idea of making one yourself! 😊
I enjoyed your reviews. I pretty much always have a pocket size (A6 or thereabouts) notebook with me. On the low end is the Exceed Pocket Ruled Journal from Walmart, which actually works quite well. As a step-up from that I do like the Moleskine A6, either soft or hard cover is fine (also ruled). I usually use the version that has 192 pages. No matter what I'm carrying I always use a Bullet-Journal inspired organizing system. When I fill one up, I scan and toss it and upload the PDF to Google Drive.
Thank you! I haven't managed to get into Bullet -journalling. I do like the Moleskine A6. Not been great at carrying it yet. Still using my A5 - ringbound notebook for work.
I've been carrying one more often lately. Not particular brand. I have a couple write in the rain ones, but I won them both. Otherwise , something cheap. Great video my friend!
Great choices..there are so many..I have a million Log & Jotters..but I have small wallet ones from Amazon, waterproof ones, Carry Notes, Portage notebooks..I’ve went off the notebook deep end lol but great video!!
@@TBEDC Thanks brother. I have mainly focused on budget stuff for pens and notepads. I figure times are tough for many people and I wanted to offer some decent, cheap options

Thanks Brother. My work notebook is my second brain for work. I'm looking to extend that into other parts of my life.
I have carried notebooks in times past. I mean to start again.
A pad in a Ziploc bag is a possible alternative to the Write In The Rain.
Good idea. I did not like the a Rite in the Rain

Thanks a Eric. I like to give a few options. Mostly I try out budget stuff, especially if I'm not sure how much I will use something.
Interesting options. Thanks for posting.
Thanks Mo

Thanks Randy. There is something great about having a notebook and pen with you all the time.
It’s coated paper so when it gets wet in the field you don’t lose your notes.
I get that... I'm not sure I need it.
Question: around 15:02 it shown that that Herte leather case has a pen loop. However it does not come with pen loop. How did you get one in your case?
Good question! I bought some Adhesive pen loops. There link odd in the description. I stuck one to a piece of card and put it in the pocket.
