What’s the movie about?
Dre (Jaden Smith) is the new kid at school after moving from the US to China. He is bullied by a kung fu prodigy. Dre befriends maintenance man Mr Han (Jackie Chan) who happens to be a kung fu expert. Mr Han starts to teach him martial arts.

I'm sorry, but all you people who act like Jaden just went down the worst path.. y'all don't even keep up with him, that's old news. Need i remind you, he is a successful artist and not only did he win awards but he also voice acted while making some iconic music you listen to today... like the Spider-Man Miles Morales soundtrack for example. he's still acting he's in a movie on Amazon Prime, it's pretty decent.
In my honest opinion, jaden's biggest aculate up to date is providing clean water sources for Flint Michigan. which a lot of people with money including the government isn't doing anything about. Jaden's a stand-up guy with great character. Yeah he made some mistakes in his career, while still be so young. We shouldn't hold those mistakes against him for the rest of his career.

Don't care what nobody says, this was a damn good movie. One of the few remakes that's actually on Par with the original. Back when remakes weren't just about capitilizing on nostalgia and garnering money and making political statements, but had actual Depth and Heart and were taken seriously.
And even if you've never seen the original Karate Kid movies, this is a perfectly good, standalone movie by itself. The acting, the plot, the choreography, the Detail, all top notch.👌👌👌

Remember the playground fight scene, when Dre fought Cheng for the first time and got beaten up and got humiliated so badly?
Dre's tenacity was always there, he kept getting back up and kept trying again, fighting again, until he could not. Even if he lacks skill and judgement, his bravery was beyond doubt.

@@sylvester3018 it’s not actually helping him, yes he did break the boards but Kreese said in the beginning “make his knuckles bleed” he was just making Daniel’s hand bleed by punching the boards hard (as you can see after he broke them) he wasn’t actually helping, he was just harming daniel which is why daniel needed that healing remedy thing when he got home

When Jaden mentioned Bruce Lee, I'd like to think of that one story of Jackie's encounter with Bruce Lee after filming a scene on Enter the Dragon is what came through his mind along with that smile.
If only fate were a little kinder, we would've watched them both by now, on the big screen together in one frame.
