If you notice, after Dre scores his second point, it's almost as if Cheng is starting to respect him, the way he gets back up without his usual glare. It's further supported by the shock on Cheng's face as his master tells him to break Dre's leg.
@@Law-hi8unn..no? its cos Dre did the crane kick stance and thats obv from the first karate kid when Daniel LaRusso did the stance but in the movie, he learns it from a Kung Fu Master making a cobra copy her

I understand that its Kung Fu but It would be called a rip off of Karate Kid if it was called Kung Fu Kid. Besides this movie literally has Karate Kid's Plot with Kung Fu and Different Theme.
First of all, they should have named the movie "Kung fu kid", would have made much more sense... a f**king KARATE KID remake without any karate in it🤦. The teacher/student relationship between Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan is as deep as a puddle compared to the one that Pat Morita had with Ralph Maccio, that's just like a cheap copy of the "true karate duo", it lacks deepness and seems a bit forced, and no one can "act" real sympathy🥱. Sadly Pat passed away years ago, it would have been awesome to see him in cobra kai😔. The only good thing is the truly amazing fight-choreography, with those 180°-360° spinning/jumping frontkicks, backflips, a flying triangular takedown, jumping back kicks, a tornado kick etc... but that alone is not enough for over two hours running time. Imho the movie isn't nearly as good as the original, it lacks chemistry between the actors and there are no plot twists or changes from the original, except the age of the main character, the country and, of course, the martial arts. Why using KUNG FU in a KARATE KID movie? I still can't understand that...
6:20 I know this is meant to be set in China and majority of the spectators are speaking Mandarin but does anyone else listen to the chanting and kinda hear them shouting *STAND UP* *STAND UP* it almost makes you believe they want Dre to get back up and win
Dre was semi crippled and won against the most fierce fighter in the tournament. Even scored on him twice in a row. Dre would’ve stomped this whole tournament if he wasn’t hurt.
correct me if im wrong but you're not meant to intentionally cause injury in these kids martial arts matches right? I just dont see how a teacher would ever be permitted to be involved in competitions again if he intentionally sent students out to injure other fighters. Seems like Cheng would earn a DQ and the teacher would have to find a new career, something that is compatible with a limp
I wonder if Cheng is now an old dude full of regrets with a son who hates him while Dre has a car dealership in china and they will eventually clash again but then becomes friends and fight agains Cheng old sensei new evil dojo.
He literally found balance before his sensei did. He obviously still has much to learn, since he's only been training for a few months probably. However, balance is probably the hardest part to learn. Sure, he helped his Sensei come to terms with what happened, but I doubt he fully got over it.
Its so fake to me at 6:50 how he still got up when his leg was broken. His femur bone was broken, which is the biggest bone in the body. I've perosnally had broken/fractured bones and torn ligaments before. I've seen in person someone get a torn hamstring as well. That person was a high school football player and was screaming their lungs out and was in agonizing pain right when the injury happened. So this scene of a twelve year old just scrunching up his face in pain on the ground and getting up a short moment later like it was nothing is SO unrealistic to me
That's because he's strong and had an excellent teacher😂😂😂maybe Cheng kick was not that strong to be able to break his leg... Don't you remember they're same age One another important fact that kick make Dre lose his ability to fight that's why he did the snake technique To have control over enemy. He was planning it for a while Then the reaction came all of a sudden 😂
