His epic death in Time Wars blew my mind when I was 10 years old. It was a perfect mix of victory and defeat but left me wanting Roadbuster to feature more. I'm glad he's become a recurring character.
I feel exactly the same. His death was one of the moments in Time Wars that always immediately came to mind. It's funny that he really didn't have *that* much of a character in those Marvel UK stories, but his speech pattern was a *huge* part of selling who the guy was, and like you I was thrilled to see him show up in future media and have that character expanded on in a way that still fit his original portrayal.
I'd love to see a show give us a Roadbuster based around that original bio. His enthusiasm on the battlefield and his acknowledgement of the unhealthier parts of that could lead to all sorts of fun storylines and character arcs for him.
Two years of waiting to sponsor an episode have paid off. Roadbuster was a character that always stood out to me. Like with Whirl, I've often what their personalities would've been like if both had been in the G1 cartoon. That goes double for what sort of voice the two could've been given. His one death at the hands of Tarantulas has to be one of the most gruesome in the entirety of the franchise. (And what solidified Tarantulas as one of my least favorite baddies.) Regarding Transformers Prime, I've often thought that Roadbuster would've been a better fit in place of Wheeljack. Reckless, loves explosives, and could've been nicknamed "Buster" by Bulkhead. With RID 2015, maybe have it where he turned to bounty hunting after the war, finding the peacetime Cybertron an unpleasant experience. Hopefully he can rejoin the Autobots in the Skybound Comics.
I really wish they had included Roadbuster in the G1 cartoon, from his Tech-Spec one could tell he's an ass kicker, a brawler and how he probably had a long history on Cybertron of first being a rowdy troublemaker to soldier to assault commander. He and Springer and Kup could have known each other from centuries past with many war stories to tell and a constant thorn in the sides of the Decepitcons. Someone suggested his voice would sound like he's Scottish, works for me.
Absolutely love Roadbuster in DOTM. He’s barely in the film but he’s got one of my favorite Bayverse designs. Wish his final film appearance included his chainsaw weapon. Great video as always!
He’s the best use of the race car theme on them, it so perfectly works itself in his design that it opens my taste for the wreckers vehicles to be anything powerful engine wise not only construction or war machines Him being Irish and my favorite color helps too
That's what I'm talking about, Wreckers are Autobots. There just aren't that many of us left. But if we get behind Optimus, we may have a chance to end this once and for all.
At this point in my life I'm 44 (& a half 😂) years old and I was pretty confident that I knew my Gen-1 characters but clearly I don't? That's why I love The Basics. I'm always pleased to see a new Bot that I was otherwise unfamiliar with. Thanks Brigadier Darman! 😀👍

@Banjo-Oz Likewise. I've been crafting little ideas with Roadbuster and Whirl. One idea I had considered, I ended shifting it from Roadbuster to Depth Charge, but the end result of Tarantulas being vaporized remains.
Roadbuster needs to wreck his way back into the spotlight, since he is one of the greatest Autobots, who was tragically offlined by a connivingly powered Tarantulas.
Man I was just so heartbroken when I read that Sins issue man. Also it’s very interesting that I ordered MMC Roadbuster and he makes a Roadbuster video lol
Roadbuster is in my school vr game as a traitor to the Autobots (he betrayed the Autobots because of suspensions on GHOST) and he made an appearance in the game as a weapon vender but sadly died to Human mad Scientist Dr mandroid
I hope someday that Roadbuster will get an animated series role in the future. Maybe a full-blown Wreckers spin-off series with the other members of the team, being so unique as they are. I guess the one thing you can't argue with is that the coolest part of his character is his name. I mean, Roadbuster is just so Autobot, you just can't help but love it!
Yes, it’s unfortunate that they didn’t, but that’s what I like about the original line up of the Wreckers in the comic that it consisted of some toyline only characters that never made it into the show. I wish they would have kept that theme going with the group instead of adding characters like Ultra Magnus and the triple changers. It was never about putting in popular characters, it was about giving spotlight to obscure ones and making them popular.

A reason for why Roadbuster might not get used a lot is his overlap with characters Brawl & Bulkhead, whom have similar color schemes, roles and personalities.
Roadbuster is a very different character from those namely in majority auburn color and the fact that he mainly uses weapons while brawl/bulkhead rely more on their first. Plus Bulkhead is more of a gentle giant character compared to the war loving robuster and brawn
I can fully thank finding the Studio Series figure of DOTM Roadbuster randomly online for getting me back into collecting Transformers after ironically falling off shortly from that movie's original line, all thanks to him receiving his proper ridiculously awesome alt mode!

There was another Marvel comic story he appeared in. But I don’t know of it was the US or UK one. The story is called Peace, and is a stand alone story, set in an alternate future. The year is 2510, and the Wreckers wipe out the last remnants of Decepticons present on Cybertron. Bringing the war to an end. Rodimus then calls a meeting to discuss his intention to finally step down, and relinquish leadership to Springer. However, Triton; a Decepticon spy among the Autobots, and the last Decepticon left. Tries to disrupt things by demanding Ultra Magnus be named successor. Even gaining support from the Technobots. Whirl however opposes Triton over this, but is knocked down by Triton. This angers Roadbuster, who tries to shut Triton up for good. Only for Scattershot to shoot him dead, much to Rodimus’s dismay. This act angers the rest of the Wreckers, and so Sandstorm shoots Triton dead. Resulting in a fire fight between the Wreckers and Technobots. Eventually leading in to the new war. Leaving Rodimus to sulk in grief.
An awesome story and one of the darkest Marvel did, even if it's an alternate universe. I love it and kind of want to see that universe revisited someday, if only briefly.
I always liked Roadbuster but I hated how IDW made him massive, seemed so silly to make him such a hulking brute when he always seemed more a weapons guy.
I would love to see the Basics on Quake, he is a character that doesn't get a lot off screen time My biggest Roadbuster memory was when he was brutally murdered by Scattershot when he and Whirl had found a traitor and Scattershot said dead wrong as he blew off Roadbusters head, which started another War
Not necessarily _boring;_ most of them were against the war because they abhorred the violence. Mirage... originally mostly because it was inconvenient, Thundercracker I think didn't see the point but rolled with it. Roadbuster was the kind of bot who'd have trouble adjusting to _peacetime._
The original Roadbuster and Whirl toys (along with Jetfire) were a cut above the rest in terms of quality and sophistication. Just handling them you could tell you were in the presence of greatness. The term 'deluxe' should refer to _that_ rather than arbitrarily denoting a size of toy.
I greatly prefer that Energon Ironhide go by his Japanese name, Roadbuster. It fits him so much better than Ironhide. Especially when he gets that green recolor and that silver star. That just screams “I’m a Wrecker” and fits the name Roadbuster perfectly.
I know about many of his design, my favorite is g1 and bayverse, I love bayverse Roadbuster, his design make him perfect and he's my favorite, not only that but because of his weapons, I was sad that he didn't got chances tô appear on next bayverse movies
Seeing a giant Tarantula gruesomely exploding out of a Transformers head is NOT what I expected to see in this episode...
Another reason to wait for the basics on Tarantulas. Also, YES, that death is terrifying, and not exactly what I was expecting either.
That's the Wreckers trilogy for you. Roche and Roberts are masters of their craft.
One of the most disgusting deaths in the franchise.

I really love ❤️ Roadbuster in g1 I really like ❤️ the wreckers
Roadbuster and Dino are the last Bay Autobots whose fates are unknown after DOTM
Roadbuster is a fighting machine. 😀👍
It’d be pretty sick to see a legacy Roadbuster.
Goddamn, that's a messed up way to go out.
Is it just me or does he look like Doom Guy?
True
He was one of my favorite characters' too!
do the basics on Big Convoy.
That cloud version is just crosshairs haha
I know about many of his design, my favorite is g1 and bayverse, I love bayverse Roadbuster, his design make him perfect and he's my favorite, not only that but because of his weapons, I was sad that he didn't got chances tô appear on next bayverse movies
Welp
That got really dark really fast
Please do a video on the basics of Lugnut
also we have a "Masterpiece" Roadbuster figure in the form of Brave Gokin Mugen Calibur, lol.
