I had a nervous twitch there that almost gave a thumbs down for that one! Lol! Best wishes for your dads retirement exit plan and your farming future...
There is a small plastic device called a fin comb for straightening out evaporator and condenser coils. But I don't think that is your problem. Thanks for the corn update.
Those combs have several different pitch sizes, so get the right one for your coil size. And yes, that's the evaporator coil, where the liquid Freon turns to gas and absorbs heat in the process. You need good air flow through that coil; if the flow is impeded, the coil will run too cold and freeze, totally blocking the air flow. You might be getting some straw blockage of that coil, but it really looks like too many years of being "straightened" with a knife blade or screwdriver. The plastic comb will do a lot to straighten and re-align the fins, but you also need to really blow out the crud from deep in that coil. Don't forget to verify that the condensate drain line really drains water from under that coil. Finally, check the crud filter upstream of that evaporator coil and see if crud is leaking around it. Also, don't forget that there's a condenser coil (probably near the compressor) that also might need straightening and cleaning.
Love the video Matt. After watching your videos for the last few years I was inspired to start my own grow operation, granted it’s 3 cannabis plants but it’s still fun to watch them grow and the knowledge I have learn from your videos has helped so much. Keep the videos coming
Matthew, you should put some flags up we’re you planted because the weeds that come up at the same time will make it hard to tell where the corn plants are. Also ,you don’t want field corn next to sweet corn during pollination. The two might cross pollinate making the sweet corn not so sweet And it gives me joy that you want to be just like us corn farmers!!!
Those are correct it's a levee plow here in Arkansas My dad took an old Rome Bush and Bog disk in the early 1960's and made it into a levee plow he pulled his rice levees with a 2 cylinder John Deere 730 tractor 65 horsepower one field would take him all day by the time he made a pull then let it dry make a second pull let it dry Drive down the top of the levee between the pulls. Our soils in east Arkansas you had to pull a pass let it air, then pull another let it air rinse and repeat
Red til I'm dead, black smoke til I'm broke. Ya'll must have a great Case dealer and get good service. I know that you have a great Lexion dealer. Holt had you up and running in no time when the track detonated on your combine. Congratulations on the new iron man. Great job.
You'll never get a decent yield on that corn unless you name each corn seed as you plant them. Corn is very sensitive to the farmer's mental attitude and needs the assurance that the farmer is totally committed and really cares.
Congratulations bro. One another thing. you have so many equipment but have not shed for it. farmer can not brought equipment again and again. I give you advice to make a shed for it .
Yes it’s the evaporator. The dented fins won’t make that big of a difference as compared to the dirt that’s turned to muddled up crust that needs washed out. As a trial, run the a/c on low blower speed to see if it keeps running... it’s a trick I’d learned in an old Versatile years ago.
They make a product called nutone. It’s very abrasive but you can use it to clean off the ac coils and then you need to wash them off very good. But that will clear your ac issues as long as their are no leaks.
Rice Farming TV www.partzstop.com/products/nu-calgon-4291-08-condenser-coil-cleaner-1-gallon-bottle That is the product. You need to dilute it but it is what we use in the HVAC industry. I would just make sure you have a shopvac to vacuum up the water after you rinse the coils as the vents sit below them. You can apply it with a pump style garden sprayer. Good luck!
Matt, bad news. With the small amount of corn you planted, it will likely not pollinate very well. However, you may still have some pretty plants to look at..
I think you used rice farmer green just like your hat! They always say plant more than one variety in a field, and thus you did, you should also plant Corn crispy treat seeds. The rice Crispy farmer might know more.
Just a suggestion from this visitor to your site - You are a farmer and a teacher. I want to see the efforts you do to make a farm run profitably. We don't care that you allegedly bought your first tractor, when it wasn't true - you said it was your "Pops". I'm interested in Rice farming, not 3 kernels of corn planted on the edge of a field, Please leave the corn (both literal and figurative) to others. I would be interested in hearing how weather, hot/cold/wet/dry affect your activities and yields. What can you do to prevent weeds, bugs, or other impediments to growing a bountiful crop? What different types of rice do you grow? Hybrids? Why would you not till the soil before seeding so that the seeds have a chance to easily root? (You mentioned "no till") OK, so maybe I need to listen to last years videos, and with the Chinese COVID-19 forced stay at home edicts, maybe I will. I am looking forward to a series of sensible discussions on the rice farming industry.
Bogusbits-thank you for this message and the feedback. I totally agree-this channel should be about farming rice and 95% of it is. That doesn’t mean I can have a little fun and throw a twist in an episode or make fun of other farmers on RUclips. This is my 131 video on the channel. There are a ton that are all about rice farming, weather, pests and production practices. The 2020 crop year is the fourth year for me on RUclips. Go to my playlist section and look up the 2019 crop year. You’ll get everything you asked for. You’ll get everything you asked for again this year. You’re in good hands. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll get back to you. All the best! -Matthew
You are going to need a lot more then just one packet of sweet corn. Plus your field corn will cross pollinate with the sweet corn so it might not be as sweet. We do plant sweet corn in with field corn to try keep the raccoon from finding it but it also 24 rows.
Is your operation publicly traded, Matt? After watching you diversify into field and sweet corn I'm ready to drop my savings into this year's crop futures on the Sligar farm. I want in on this action, I see you guys dominating the market!!! 🤑
Great video;Review!Ive wanted to be In A Case IH Farmall 120C But I have no need Also If I’m correct That’s the same Tractor Brock Lesnar was In At SummerSlam 2022😂😂😂
Hi, I have seen some horror stories on the smaller HP line of that tractor, I was wondering how you guys are faring with your 120C? I ask because I am looking at the Farmall 110C
I've just bought one of these. They are a design disaster. The RH door is impossible to use because the loader control lever is deliberately cranked to within 2" of the steering wheel. They even provide a step for it which can never be used. At the first service I found out that the most important filter - the engine oil one is so buried under tubes pipes and brackets that it requires the removal of 2 fuel filters to change it. The loader they supply (a Stoll) is not a patch on the Quicke. It has manual locking where the quicke (and the MX) are automatic, and the bucket lock is a nightmare often needing a crowbar to release it. I also had to buy a rear hitch mirror which wasn't supplied.
Where was the big John Deere 8640? Is it a gone or just not part of this spring tillage work? Oh and one more thing I seen an auger wagon or bank out for a tractor what do you use it for?
The case farmall is the most reliable case out of all the newer models, literally nothing breaks on that bad boy, good choice. In most parts of Europe you can't even get it anymore, because they're exclusively making it for the Austrian market now, because it's in such high demand.
Are there many people trying row rice (furrow irrigated rice) in California? It started getting some popularity in Arkansas and the Mississippi delta a few years ago.

called a condenser, if you happen to scar a tube when cleaning/straightening the fins you would need to replace it as AC is a pressurized system.Loved the video, you do a great job narrating and making it all very interesting.if you like logging vids check out #loggerwade he does a very good and a very funny way of narrating. can't wait to see the spring work vids, great job Matthew. thank you for the vids.can't understand why anyone would thumb down it :(

Congratulations man, nice choice!

The "radiator for air conditioners" is called a condenser. The one inside the cabin that makes it nice and cold is called the evaporator.
yup both pressurized and very hard to repair (honestly when you add in labor cheaper to just replace) so cleaning has to be done very carefully.
There is a small plastic device called a fin comb for straightening out evaporator and condenser coils. But I don't think that is your problem. Thanks for the corn update.

The auto parts store has a plastic comb to fix those fins on the AC, it's fast and works better than a knife also cheap
I always referenced green equipment to a green healthy crop. Y’all did a great job!

Thank you Tim! The tractor is running super cool now.

If you need to straighten the fins often, they make condenser fin combs.
I'm looking one up right now. Thank you! Are they tractor air conditioner specific?

There a few different sizes, but there is no specific size for application. You can often get them in sets with different sizes.

Pink greese, I'm jelly, and you should of just kept the plow red to match the beauty of the tractor that's it's attached to.
Pink grease is where it’s at. Chevron #2 in the blue tube-many many jelly. Yeah, Pops like to drag green through the dirt. Joking.
