Absolutely Nailed It Perfectly!!! I Just Hope,That Everyone Who Watches You Play,"to all of Neil's song!" (ARE ALWAY'S LISTENING TO YOU,THRU A SET OF HEADPHONES!!!)👍👍👍👍
It blows me away, as well, how you choose precisely the right drums in the right places. Neil once commented that, when rolling around the kit, he would often omit the 8x12 closed tom, which I've seen you do a few times in your videos.
Great job, once again! The feel, the fills, the nuances - all there. A lot of people misplay those first two drum breaks. Even Neil himself played them differently in later years. The original breaks (first one in particular, which is such a cool, inside-out interpretation of the classic Cobham four-stroke) were so odd, elegant, and beautifully composed that it's nice to hear them as they were originally recorded. Incredibly well done.
@@professor55 Man Michael!! You've mastered this song!! Perfect ghost notes, flame and the perfect timing on every thing, from the snare to those extremely fast (running down all the toms!!) You've done YYZ, better than anyone else,I've ever seen play it!! (We'll,besides The Professor🙂🙂🙂!!)
Freakin killed it man, loved seeing you get the ghost notes in there as well. Was thinking "this is Roll the Bones Neil playing on his Moving Pictures kit".
First off great job! Well done! As a fellow drummer I noticed something a few times it looked as though you were over extending your arms to reach your cymbals. I had that issue myself for years, I was getting more fatigued while playing shows. A friend of mine from another band cued me in to it, total redesign of my rig but it worked. Still played the same music but I wasn't as tired.
No one can truely call themselves a drummer, unless they can play YYZ from the legendary RUSH!!!....great job!!!...sounds exactly, like the album.two thumbs-up brother.God bless........
Let me just say, this is outstanding! I would love to see an isolated version of this so I can focus in better on your ride and HH work. But just watching it, it sure LOOKS like you've got the ride patterns down. I *LOVED* that you subbed in the ESL china in for the glass breaking, very nice touch! Probably the best YYZ cover I've seen so far. Well done!!!
I've watched your videos over the past few days. There are a lot of us Neil Peart fan boys out there. We know every beat, every fill, every little detail...you nail it better than most I've seen covering Neil's playing. As for the comments about you being too much like Neil...well, it looks like you're having fun with it - isn't that the point? It doesn't look like it's gone to your head. Just don't be a Dick Cully and you'll be just fine, lol. If you've been around drums and drumming long enough...you'll get the Dick Cully reference.
Well done..... but YYZ is no where near the hardest Rush song to get right on the drums...Its busy.... and very taxing but time signature is more consistent then many of their songs as a drummer just sayin.. this is very well done...but only the non drummers out there think this is the hardest rush song to play correctly
Sad... your good enough to have your own identity ... you did a great job no doubt bud ... but it’s a little creepy at the same time well done. your fantasizing About being him, and I tell you with all sincerity he would think it’s cool but find your own way.
I am not condemning him...playing well as he does has nothing to go with what I said..and I don’t play drums for a living I am not a drummer by no means, that does not disqualify my take on the video. Weather I play or not had nothing to do with it. I am sorry you by think I was being cross
Maybe the most challenging for your skill level. I mean, you had to wake up, shave the goatee and put in the dew rag to try and look like Neil. Then find the right shirt. Practice the facial expressions and the right angle of back hunch. That’s a lot of work before you even hit play. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
It’s a good take; but whenever I watch anyone cover a Neil Peart part, as good as they can be, it still always pales in comparison to Neil. Not a criticism, Neil just had a sound and execution hard to duplicate.
🤔 A decent version. There’s not anything that stands out to me as being special so I’d have to say this is easily forgettable. The mannerisms the bandanna………I don’t know. That’s just a bit far for my tastes but to each his own. Just be yourself and play the song(s). You don’t have to copy someone else’s identity but I get it; it’s a Neil Peart “inspired” video. That said I can still appreciate the effort 👍
How did i miss this? Fantastic!!!
Thanks Kevin!
Amazing.! Ive been Playing covers for 25+ yrs myself, this is a lot of commitment. Bravo 👍🏻
You even have that Peart head bob when you play the snare and high hats at times. Neil was my hero too!

Thanks again Butch! Glad to have you!!🥁🎧
You're the guy we all want in our band, sound, execution, attitude top marks for all. Great cover.
Excellent! Had to watch twice. Neil would be proud.
Thanks George! It’s much appreciated!🥁
He was a machine. My idol in the 70s. I miss him. He had temple blocks and a gong with his kit. Did anyone else notice? I did.
It blows me away, as well, how you choose precisely the right drums in the right places. Neil once commented that, when rolling around the kit, he would often omit the 8x12 closed tom, which I've seen you do a few times in your videos.
Thanks Seth! It’s all in the details…🥃
Very nicely done! Not an easy song to play. You nailed it.
Thanks!!!🥁I definitely appreciate you watching man!! YYZ is definitely challenging. Especially the big fill in the middle 😅

I really appreciate the compliments, man! Cobham was amazing!!🔥🥁
Fukin awesome. Excellent work my man.
Very challenging song to play. Well done.

Outstanding my friend!! you nailed it, even the ghost notes. 💯🎶👏
Thanks!!!

Um dos melhores covers do Neil que já vi !!! Parabéns...todos os detalhes muito bem executados.
Thanks!! Much appreciated 🥃
Neil said “The Devil is in the details”.

Even got his manorisms down little subtle head tilts on the snare hits only a drummer would notice that excellent cover my friend 🥁🥁
yupp
this jam almost demands a head snap
😂
I had to watch this again!

Awesome work man.... Long live the professor!!!!
Thanks!!!🥁
Noticed how many times Neil finished fills with a LH crash. That must have been a conscious decision, that's really weird, and cool.
Great job
Well done!

Respectable job playing it - looks like early 90's Neil on his early 80's kit.
Thumbs up ..... good reason for drummers to quit smoking !!!
Haha💨💨
"The best in the galaxy"!!!!! RUSH!!!!🤘♥️🇧🇷
Gotta have the Neil Peart hat on or forget it...
Nice!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘♥️🇧🇷
Damn!!!!
Jees, it's time to give a call to Geddy and Alex.

A little off but pretty good. Can easily tell it is not Neil.
Thanks David! I’m definitely not Neil…
Not bad pal.
your playing is great! your mix/audio on RUclips is horrid. Rock on. Neil is smiling down on you!

Thanks man ! The “mannerisms” are actually just a by-product of playing the parts correctly. The bandanna keeps the sweat out of my eyes. 😎
like apiece of dirt said , dont quit your day job.
bullocks, he killed it
Never have I seen a drummer that looks so uncomfortable play so good. 😱
Great job!
