Dave Lombardo es alguien que ni te la crees que estas hablando con el mejor baterista del mundo su sencilles es algo de otro mundo larga vida a Don Dave Lombardo
I've played my DW9002's for YEARS with a tiny offset on the beaters...it wasn't until about 3 months ago that I finally decided to re-adjust my pedals and now they are dead even. Made a HUGE difference in my playing. I think my left leg actually learned how to make up for it all those years, i highly recommend that first piece of advice!
The Headless Horseman Dave speaks spanish and they’re (spanish and italian) more than 50% similar so he likely did understand most of what the translator was saying.
Thanks Dave for taking the time to show is some tricks! I love all the computer keyboard drum experts here...... Dave doesn't know??? O.K. how's your band doing??? Your a double pedal expert.....can we come to your non exsistant drum work shops???
Just when I thought I had my pedals set right, I fail the bounce stop test badly. Makes sense. The right one gets played a lot more, so you can't just go by where the nut is. So we fix. Thanks!
@@kalebdaviesdrums8006 if you're pedals are even, there is no magical technique that's going to make you play double bass well. Press down, let up, repeat. Whatever is the easiest way for you to accomplish that is the best technique.
I've been clean drum since 1986 when I saw Megadeth at a club here in Colorado Springs notice how his legs are parallel to the floor it's feeding quite flat on the floor but that's the way you put your feet on the pedals I sit about the same. My first drum set I had to have double bass my left bass drum was glitter gold and my right bass drum blue glitter or vice versa I don't remember I still have my, double bass Misty Chrome from that time I enjoy watching this stuff new
I'm Italian and I can assure you that the translator did a perfect job. He only forgot to say about the chrome springs, he only said to use harder springs both sides but not specified to use the "chrome" ones.
So for how long was Mr Lombardo "DEVELOPING" this "let go both at the same time" trick? ;) I'm kidding - there's nothing but respect for the guy, cheers! Pozdro666
with same exact spring tensions the beaters should move at the same frequency. these two pedals dont synchronize hence the spring tensions are different.
I'd like to add that though pedals may be equal, foot/leg strength may not be. So you can do 2 things. Either adjust the pedal to accommodate your weaker leg, OR you practice to get your weaker leg up to par. I would go with the second option.
Honestly I don’t know how many people would respond to this, but I have been having a problem involving leg strength for awhile. My knees have gotten a lot weaker (I fucked them up a lot these past few years), and I’m trying to strengthen them back up to work on my double bass chops. I sit at like mid to high level with my throne, and play heel up as of rn. If anyone has any tips, or tricks, I’d be thankful.
For more content, I am still a pretty intermediate drummer, and have really only gotten super serious lately…so I may have to rework my technique a lot as a whole, so feel free to provide anything. I just don’t wanna give up drumming so early in my life (am 20) because of injuries
finndrummer, David Folchitto sounds like the rest of the common speed drummers...nothing special. But Dave Lombardo brings not only speed to his playing, but melody as well. And that's very uncommon for thrash/metal drummers. I mean, listen to War ensemble, Dead Skin Mask... Another tasty player is Lars Ulrich. He's not as fast, but man! He cooks very well

Yeah, but if the head of the Bassdrum needs to be tight, you sacrifice good sound. You then need triggers to replace the high pitch bass drum. I hate tight sounding bass drums
he never says how tight ... I would like to hear an explanation as to how tight it actually is.. a lot of metal dudes go just past wrinke or finger tight on the bass drum .. what I wonder does he mean crank it (where is sounds like shit) OR just a bit high .. also dampening .... it is not boingy jazz bd high tuned

Lombardo is a legend
OK, so he doesn't discuss his technique here, rather just the settings on his pedals and how tight he likes his heads.
yeah lol that bugged me too
SpikeFlea technique is he puts his foot on the pedal and pushes down

Tightening the bass drum skins so they sound like card board boxes
most metal drummers trigger their bass drums so tuning doesn't really matter

he did say, tight like a marching snare.
id wager he uses bigger diameter shells to compensate for the tension, and keep the tone in range.
does a drummer have a similar term for "Vibrato" as for guitarists? If does what is it called?
No, doing a vibrato requires strings.

Equal I understand, but what if one of your feet are more developed than the other
develop the other foot
Lars Ulrich's talent that’s what I’m sayin tho I mean why develop the other foot why not just adjust the tension on the other pedal to accommodate
There is literally zero technique in this video. He just explained his setup and you cut him? Great video!
