I love how Dave and Charlie Benante are so passionate about their jobs and so willing to help others, then there's Lars, if someone asked him for a tip, he'd most likely give some jerk answer like "practice" or "give me money first", or "I'll sue you if you copy me"
+Simon Anselmo I agree but at the same time I disagree. Because parts of it is about physics. For example that thing about tight skins. You will be able to play faster with tighter skins because of the science behind it. A tighter skin gives a better blowback for the beater. When your skin is loose the beater won't come back as quick. But when it comes to things like heel up or heel down.. That's all about what you're used to..
I imagine that a crowd turning up and paying for Dave Lombardo to tell them how he himself plays double bass pedals so damn fast disagree with you.

Atreus Blackward Clearly people like you dont play drums. What he said about the bass drum head is 100% true objectively. Unless youre playing with triggers, that is THE way to play fast double bass...
I disagree as well. Everyone has their own thing. but you can NOT get to crazy speeds without cranking everything up. especially the head because, like DAVE LOMBARDO JUST TOLD YOU, your beater has to be able to return as fast as your toe comes back up. That whole thing quantifies when you get into advanced foot work, Heel-To, swivel, etc. . .also, I second the low throne position. I am a drummer. Who G'sAF if the crowd can see me? As long as the bassist and I are *locked* in. Not everyone wants to be an overdramatic showoff like Luke Holland. lol
if anyone should be allowed to teach double bass properly it's dave lombardo
helped by gene hoglan to develop it.
Spot on Dave.... 🥁✌️🤘🏴🇦🇺

Благодаря Ви!
He's good, but this is very basic and not useful at all for anyone trying to learn lol
saying someone's technique is wrong, saying they should be this or that like he is doing, is awful advice.

They're not absolute truths, he's saying what's better from an objective point of view. Might work for some people, might not for others.
