Nothing as special as The Fightin Texas Aggie Band! The last home field March in in awesome for those days and days of practice! Then the team coming in to dress is a 12th Man’s dream to be there too
I like everyithing that I saw, regarding jour shows, Aggiess! With all your crew, every proffesion that makes up this high level of everything! Manuvers, (you can find allways your way in peace, without stepping on eachother. Even, vhen you have to run out!!!) but no one helped me to learn, the messages spread (for some, ewould be most likely an other virus. Or bacteria at least in 2024{as fahr as I know}.
You can have no idea what feels like to march on Kyle Field with The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band for the last time. 55 years down the road and I'd give just about anything to do it one more time.
A long long time ago head football coach Jackie Sherrill said, "When we're [playing] as good as The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band we'll be National Champions." If the day ever comes that the Fightin' Texas Aggie football team is as good as The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band then the prophecy will be realized. After they've boosted all the rest they will come and join the best. BONFIRE. BONFIRE. BONFIRE...
Thank you, kgoff1225! Video was shot with a Canon Vixia HV30. Vixia is Canon's HD line of consumer camcorders. I edit with PowerDirector and render it to a Windows Media Video 9 High Quality file before uploading it to youtube. This seems to be faster and gives a clearer result than any other method I have tried.
As a former drummer in the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, I can't tell you how many times we were told we were too loud already. No need for anything louder. Haha.
@littlefield19 I asked that question of a professional musician who was a percussionist in the FTAB: "Rope-tensioned drums are definitely cool, but the FTAB won't use them because : 1) They aren't tough enough for our use. They are very expensive and comparatively delicate 2) In our highly variable Texas weather, we would never be able to keep them in tune 3) Our drummers already overbalance the band, to the point that many of the underclassmen use toms instead of snares."
The is before a Kyle Field record crowd of over 90,000 and a world record student attendance of more than 31,000 students ... more students than they have at the main University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus!
Im an ohio state fan and i thought our drums were "traditional" well they're not they look and sound traditional but they are modernized traditional snares
David, I know that this is true ... but, the fact remains that loudness of snares is not an issue. In fact, there are so many drummers this year (2013) that about half will be sitting out halftime ... and not just fish!
The reason that the freshman use snares with the snares removed is because they haven't "earned" the snares yet. That, and the annoyance of using the tom mallets.
This band has a wicked high "wow" factor (and this from a UMass alum). At least one band plays real drums, not those formica countertops or whatever the shit is kids play today. So someone in Aggieland tell me - why doesn't the Aggie Band consider using rope-tensioned drums? They'd actually be louder and they'd definitely have a high cool factor.

WHOOP OUTSTANDING. '71
Apologies for the lousy audio during the halftime drill - the wind overpowered my windscreen.

The first march is -- what else! -- PATTON!
