I am 52 and just dropped a halfpipe last month, so I know exactly what you felt. You are a great inspiration. My hands are sweating just from watching you :).
good to see you're back on the board and skating vert. As a middle-aged guy of 47 I would love to try skating vert again. But it's been 30 years or so that I've been into a vert. Takes large balls to drop in, many respect to you Jon!
Jon that looks amazing. I re took to my skateboard last year after 25 years. Looking for somewhere that an old guy like me can ride a park thats a bit bigger and quiet as my skaking isnt anywhere near what it was in my late teens. Any recommendations welcome. Would love to skate something that big... from the flat bottom though :)
I've never had an opportunity to skate vert. No ramps for hours where I live. Do you feel any difference between the old diagonal sheets, and the new ones running straight? Logic tells me that rolling over the seams at a 45 degree angle to your board would feel smoother than hitting them completely perpendicular at 90 degrees. But then again, if the seams are good and tight, maybe you don't feel anything either way. Thoughts?
Yes, I thought the same, but it’s so tight that it makes no difference, also so tight that it’s perfect for the knee slide. Jake the pro in the video said that skating with the grain is a touch faster too??
@@JonBishopSkateThat never even crossed my mind, but that totally would make sense if it's actual wood, as opposed skatelite or similar engineered materials. What's the top sheet, Baltic birch?
That last shot gives away the size of that thing. Respect for dropping in and killing it.🤘🏼

Hi, what wheels do you use in vert? diameter and hardness!
Hey dude
I’ve got the 99a Spitfire F4 58mm.
Most dudes on this ramp seem to use between 58mm to 60mm and around 99a to 101a?
Jealous… looks stunning
