I don't think the best metric for evaluating an album is whether it will play at a party. Lemonade is not a party album, Adele doesn't make party albums. Renaissance is a dance album, so it will continue to be played at parties like Rihanna and Lady Gaga's songs still play.

Beyonce had to sing Jolene that way. It was the most honest way... There aren't too many women in this world that can compete with her looks wise. If you want one of her vulnerable songs listen to resentment.

Yeah, have to hard disagree on the pandering issue. If she was, she wouldn’t have included rap or trap. Also, I think the Texas and American flag imagery is actually a middle finger to the people who want to dictate who is an American. Or who can make what music.
The radio station changing is such a statement-every one of those clips of a black musician who influenced generations of musicians.
Lastly, the horse-born with black skin and turns nearly white as it gets older. Effective metaphor for the black music cloaked in a white appearance.
Just some things that make me think she is NOT pandering

I will definitely say it's held my attention much longer than any other over 16 song album ever has 😅

I'm so disappointed in you guys, because you keep saying this a country album like the white media"" when Beyonce herself made it clear, that it's a Beyonce album "" And tbh, you have variety of music on this COWBOY CARTER 2 album, like R&B, RAP, BLUES, ROCK ,OPERA. I wants to know"" Why You guys failed to mention BLACK COUNTRY artists feature on her album also"" Maybe i missed that part, but if i did"" I apologize"" Anyway" " That song TYRANT ft Tiera Kennedy would be great as a single, SPAGHETTI is another one would be great single"" Now I'm not a Miley S fan, but i agree with you guys" that collaboration was really good, and i love that song. Great review guys.

She has some features and suddenly she’s pandering 🙄

The features can technically sound good but in the grand scheme of the album, her career and what they represent can be seen as pandering. Both ideas can be true at the same time

I think that Bodyguard is a throwback to "He So Shy" by Pointer Sisters, and that group are the only Black female group that have won a Grammy in Country.

Amazing how they intentionally block us from progressing in genres we started like rock and country

The thing with Act II is duality. From being literal in having the II in the track names to being subtle on issues such as Singing Country traditionally in the first tracks to more modern country sound. She has both black and white features, She has legends on the track and 'newer' artists. All this to show that a singular genre is inspired by many and may present in many forms. Then of course it's a 27 track album because her career is 27 years long

I think you're talking about one specific type of party. I could definitely see some songs played at various events

kudos to you for the artist of the month, because a lot of people will never hear out someone's entire discography. How can you give an opinion without context.

Beyonce’ is doing her Prince thing. Mixing different genres and not staying in a box! She took 2 classic songs and crushed them. This is a classic album that will be a game changer for other black artists and more progressive artists!

Spaghetti is out there because she needed to POP OFF show that aggression she was talking about in daughter. She was trying to stay calm in daughter warning people who had something to say about her that she will go off and spaghetti is like she did go off in her musical way then alligator tears is her saying okay i went off on yall validly now yall wanna play victim I’m doing my best here to showcase what i love to do and when i say something yall wanna cry fake tears…

Being honest I never really liked much of her music .Any artist that tries or puts their spin on a specific type or genre of music other than their main music. To be honest again I actually love several of these songs. The production is awesome .

    - This is ok. Some decent music on here. Nothing great or truly worth relistening to on a regular basis. Definitely not higher than an 7-8.
    - Entirely too long. Definitely some skips. The fat should’ve been trimmed.
    - Too much autotune/melodyne/pitch correction, which is head scratching considering her comments around the instruments used and the way they were used. Why call out using real instruments and intentionally having some out of tune, but then go and do that crap to the vocals? Makes no sense. I know she’s not a strong vocalist, but damn, what a missed opportunity. I’ll take “imperfect” vocals every single time. You can’t say someone is a great singer if they’re using that software. It’s similar to the Steroid-Era of baseball…
    - re: vulnerability. Agree 100%. It’s always been an issue for her with me. There is zero vulnerability. Zero emotion. It’s soul-less and hollow and too manufactured. Songs like Protector & Jolene should bring a tear to your eye. Instead it feels like “paint-by-numbers” art.
    - re: her best songwriting. Really!!?? C’mon! It’s one of the worst kept secrets in music. She’s the modern day Elvis. Maybe it’s the universe’s way of correcting that wrong? And I don’t understand why she’s so intent for being known as a “songwriter”. Ella & Aaliyah didn’t write and they’re two of the GOATs. She needs to let that go. Or start putting the work in to be a songwriter. (I hope the stage is large enough for all of the songwriters & producers when it wins multiple Grammys🥸)
    - Love the cover and all it symbolizes. Love the concept behind the record and the way it was approached. And while I feel it wasn’t completely successful, I give her much, much respect for going for it. So, really, in a way, she pulled it off: Brava!
    - And I give Adriel & Démar much respect for not throwing out “10s” just because it’s Beyoncé. I’m so impressed with them for giving some true “criticism”. Yous are brave. Hopefully, yous won’t need any extra security🥸
