I’d like to see a video with a list of all the mods to your rig. I have a 14 that I’m using as a camping rig but I haven’t seen much in the way of pilot mods.
I just put AT51's on my Pilot for a better look. I should have gotten even beefier tires, as I think I will be going off road a little. Would be nice to use the Pilot as something other than a vehicle to drive back and forth to the airport.
I had the Duratracs on my Wrangler. They don't last long (only got about 40k out of them), but man they are sticky. I almost never had to shift into 4wd in the winters here in WV. Son has the Wrangler now with BFG ATs on it. I am planning to throw Duratracs on my FJ now but man they are expensive!

I am running LT245/75R16 108/104Q C Goodyear Duratracs. I chose this tire because they where the lightest most aggressive tire I could find. They weight 40 lbs while most other aggressive tires are E rated and about 50 lbs.
Comparing the Duratracs to your newest/ current set, which do you like better? We're you happy with the duratracs but looking to switch? Do you think you could have gone one size larger with the duratracs?
To be honest load c duratracs are probably the best tire for the Pilot. They are light compared to most load e off-road tires. They have great grip a variety of conditions.

Hey I was watching one of your videos I can't seem to find it right now but you said you remove the sway bars is that front and back and if so are they completely removed permanently?
Daniel Farpella I have been experimenting with running the rear disconnected. My air springs do a lot to stabilize the vehicle and prevent body roll. From my testing it would be difficult to create a sway bar disconnect for the rear. I am not sure how this comment escaped me... RUclips’s notification system is strange.
Thanks for showing us your mods and adventures. You inspired me to buy an identical vehicle and I've done many of the same mods as well. My air bags leak though so I have to figure that out. As well, I'm curious if you got any grinding of the drive shaft because of the increased articulation with the lift. Mine was a 2.5 front though. Thanks!
Hector L. Fabian I’m running 245/75 r17’s on my 2001 mdx. Haven’t lifted it yet. You might get rub on tight corners. Just use a heat gun and a rubber mallet
How long a tire last has a lot to due with the rubber used. Soft rubber grips better, hard rubber last longer. I would look at the mile rating to try to determine the life you can expect.
Hey, can I put those tires to my HONDA PILOT 2006 without adding something else as Lift or something like that? Because my car hasn't any modification yet. My question is if I can just buy those tires and just put it on my car without doing anything else than just change the tires😂?

Just so you know for future reference, my 07 pilot has 245/75r16 BFG AT KO2 E loads and they are fine. My fuel mileage didnt suffer dramatically and it pulls fine and brakes fine. I went from C load to the E loads and didn't notice much except for more durability. Alot of people on the forums tried to keep me from putting on the e loads but they ride fine, really better than a P load all terrain which feel like squishy balloons.
The noise from the Duratracs has not been noticeable. The increase in tire size has a noticeable effect on mpg and acceleration. That being said I love there performance! Totally worth it in my opinion.
Looking into buying either a subaru or honda pilot to go outdoors with. Is this one AWD or 4WD? What's the gas mileage you're looking at after lifting it and adding those beefy tires? Also did you upgrade the suspension at all or just add a lift with tires in interested to know.
Honda's VTM-4 is an AWD system that you can lock into 4WD. With all of the stuff I have on my roof, my lift, and my oversized tires I am getting between 15-17 mpg. I am running the original front struts and upgraded KYB 344353 Excel-G Gas Shocks in the rear. I have 2" front lift spacers, 1.5" rear lift spacers, Firestone W237604135 Coil-Rite Kit air springs in the rear (adds 1"), front cam bolts, and rear cam arms. For less than the ready lift kit I was able to get front cam bolts, rear cam arms as well as Firestone air helpers in the rear. The hardest part of the upgrade was getting the rear aligned. There are adjustment bolts that rust to the rear lower control arm bushings. You have to cut them out and replace the bushings, or replace the whole control arm. @@noeymac88 The Ready Lift Kit comes in a $699 vs approx. $380 for the parts I used. The Ready Lift Kit would not solve the issue in the rear where the lower control arm adjustment bolt is seized to the bushing. And it doesn't include front camber bolts or the rear camber arms. In my experience all of these parts are needed to get the vehicle into alignment. On top of all that my parts provide an extra half inch of lift in the rear. With the money I saved I was able to by the Firestone W237604135 Coil-Rite Kit which helps keep the rear from sagging with load and adds some more lift. Overcoming the rear lower control arm bolt/bushing issue is the hardest part of lifting 1st gen pilots and aligning them. You will need to press out the old bushing and press in the new ones. Or you can buy replacement lower control arms at about $180 each.
@@noeymac88 I was on the High lift site looking at the price. It is very possible that it is less expensive elsewhere. I still think that you may find the adjustable parts necessary when you go in for an alignment, but that might not be entirely true.
I put some the exact same size with different rim (came off a Jeep but same lug pattern ) and the car won’t move forward or in reverse ? Is it the additional weight of the rims ? Or what is going on ?

I will try to work on one. The suspension has a 2" lift with airbags. It took a bit of work to align, but it has bee worth the effort.

At51s are a great tire to get you off road. If you find yourself in mud a lot you may find and aggressive tire is better.

@@aaronrye417 Flat black blends into tire rubber pretty well. You just have to be careful around the edges, but if you go over it isn't a big deal.

Do you have any upgrades to the undercarriage of your truck? I know the Pilot generally does not have a lot of protection underneath.

Matthew Robertson I have an 05 pilot with mustang 17 rims and 245/65r17 tires. They look great to me. I am thinking about going wider to 255/65 r17.
To use those tires did you need to use wheel spacers ?
No I did not have to use any wheel spacers. I am pretty sure (not 100%) they will fit without a lift too.

Just get body mount spacers or use hockey pucks much cheaper saves money they also have Baja jacks that go over over your springs

Did you have to life the Pilot in order to fit the 245/75 on there?
I did lift first, but my understanding is that they will fit without the lift.

Lian Diaz I use a portable air compressor and air up as needed.
How loud are the new tires on the road/ highway?
Not bad at all! The only time I notice a hum is when cornering.

@@noeymac88 I was on the High lift site looking at the price. It is very possible that it is less expensive elsewhere. I still think that you may find the adjustable parts necessary when you go in for an alignment, but that might not be entirely true.

I read at a Pilot forum that with any lift kit the angle increases and some owners ended up with damaged joints, any experience on that matter?

I put some the exact same size with different rim (came off a Jeep but same lug pattern ) and the car won’t move forward or in reverse ? Is it the additional weight of the rims ? Or what is going on ?
Please list the tire size so we are clear. Are the tires rubbing anywhere?
What size are the rims? Are they rubbing on the calipers
@@GotterAdventure 245/75/r16 no rubbing when I turn wheels but when I shift to reverse or drive it doesn’t move even with gas ?
