Off Roading in the Land Between the Lakes

In this episode, my brother and I do some off-roading on Forest service roads. I was pleasantly surprised how well the Honda pilot performed in various conditions. Toward the end of the video, at 9:46 my brother takes the lead with his Jeep Cherokee through the most technical area we found. I was really impressed with the Pilot’s performance.

Thanks JC Journey! That was the first time I ran it through water and some of the holes and ditches. I kept my bumper and didn’t smash anything underneath …so I call that a good run. 😂

It did well. I took a big risk doing the mud trail down to the creek, but it made it pretty easily.

I’m very happy with it. I know that some people make fun of the pilot for offering, but I have found it a very comfortable vehicle to make a cross country trip and still be able to engage moderate off roading. It’s very reliable.

What size tires?

I just went with the stock tires that are listed on the placard at my door jam. Always keep this in mind when trying to get more clearance by putting a bigger tire on. When you put on a bigger tire, you lose power. That’s because the radius From the center of your hub to the outside of the tread is bigger in the ground now has more leverage against your motor and transmission. You lose power. If you keep stock tires on, you will keep more power.
