Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.
He has hobby. Fitness and healthy eating
You think he eats healthy 😂😂
That’s not a hobby. That’s the basics of success. You can’t be efficient if you get sick or you’re weak.
Dude doesn't eat healthy.
That’s a lifestyle not a hobby lmfao

This is probably my favorite clips of Alex because I’m honestly the same and knowing there are more people like this in the world tends to put me at ease.
Same!!
He's not a business person, he a therapist whho just happeneds to be in business.
If you want to be successful, you need to master your mind (with compassion).
I’ve rewatch this short about 8 times now and have stopped at each phrase to digest the information presented thoroughly. This short is unequivocally inspired. Thank you.
Comma, and that's okay. 👍
I wonder how Alex became so smart. Also he has like the best work ethic I've ever seen. He doesn't just work for the sake of working. He works very hard and very smart
...he's smart because he's faced challenges and allowed himself to experience what it feels like to come up with solutions instead of quitting.
He learned lessons by doing hard stuff.
Now he's willing to share what he learned
"Comma and that's ok" is a crucial advice I got from Alex, out of many, and it changed my life after I started applying it
"It has to be hard"
THE GYM IS YOUR HOBBY ! COMMA ! You forgot?😂😂😂
Would you say brushing your teeth is a hobby
@@eajinho if your hygiene is right its considered a necessity. 🤷🏻♂️
His hobby is working
At this point he might as well write a book called "comma, and thats okay"
My favorite montage, I can relate.
Hobby? Build something. Oh I guess he just already does that. I do have a deep feeling he may be missing out on something but he has chosen and bought into his thing full on which is more than I can say for myself. Good man
Living in the moments that matter-Accepting current state to fully live in the present, and that’s ok.
One of my favorite of your yt shorts
Consider hang gliding, it is wonderful and makes lofe brighter. I don't know why you still want to keep working you got it all already.
, and that's okay 💪
I'm getting this on a tshirt 😂
Zen In Business
Bravo on that. Whatever is going on then add the ", its ok" to get over that mental crutch. It happened, "happenED" is the key. Now do what you have to, to correct whatever. Great way to view things.
He’s done a great job of incorporating everything else in his life into his work life. Creates tons of efficiencies and opportunities.
Are you energized? Are you happy? Relatively healthy? Hurting anyone? If you answered Yes, Yes, Yes, No then forget anyone else's idea of what anyone should be doing and keep rolling!
It’s not that he dose not hobbies, it’s building a huge business. That is his hobbies. I get this way to it’s the challenge and the building I love most. The biggest takeaway is “TAKING ACTION”! Ideas 💡 are great but worth jack crap without taking action! If you want it just take action and make it happen. Even if it’s not the right action you will figure it out as you go! Just keep moving forward as fast as possible to get to the goal! Thanks for all your great videos and sharing your world with us, it is empowering! I hope to meet you face to face some time in the future when you buying one of my company’s!
" , & that's okay..." Good shit, Alex! I love that mantra.
💪🏻comma👍🏻
Love the inspiration to keep on grinding towards your goals, while still enjoying the process 🔥
A true teacher ☕️🫖
Love you ❤ listening to your advice on life & mindset everyday has become my new hobby, and that's okay.
Period. Purr period. Its Giving
Define healthy.
My Man!!!
“ that's how hard looks like ”
Make a shirt, or a hat with that on it. DO IT NOW!!!! Ill buy one!!!!! ALEX YOU HEAR ME?! MAKE. A. SHIRT. 😂
, and that’s okay.
Needs to be on a shirt yesterday
Can you make a 10 minute long version? I gotta hit a bench PR 😂
Folks, this is the type of person you have to be to become the best. A billion dollars net worth is just byproduct.
Bro is the definition of real entrepreneur
And that’s okay
And that's OK
Dudebro clearly works out...
I think this should be a shirt.
“, & that’s okay”
You should consider it. Or not, & that’s okay
😂
what if you want to have hobbies and you want to become wealthy to be able to enjoy them, is that ok?
I want to get rich because I don't want to work a shitty job, I want to have fancy cars and a nice house and be able to sleep in a better bed and order whatever I want and go wherever I want to go. Mainly for the cars tho. I have dream cars that I obsess over more than anyone could imagine. When I watch videos from people like Alex who is one of my idols in business and youtube, I wonder why they work so hard after having hundreds of millions that could give a luxurious life for generations. Why do you work so hard if it seems like you're not working towards anything other than more money? Do you not want Bugattis or mansions or to explore the most beautiful places in the world? You're one of the few people that can, that can do what most people dream of doing. I'm trying to start a car detailing business and I know it's very unlikely to give me the financial success that I'm chasing, but it's better than working at Freddy's at 17 and I know the skills I learn from it are going to be more important than the money I'll make from it.
Real life Tony Stark mode.😎🔥
This is ur hobby
When I am hosting events and drifting cars for a living I won't have hobbies either 🤷🏾♂️
🐐
U literally need to trademark that
, and that's ok
I like that. Comma, and that’s ok
I thought i was the only person who likes to wear breathe right strips, not just when sleeping. Those things are awesome 😅
can someone PLEASE explain 'comma' at the beginning of a sentence. It hurts me 😭😭
Comma, comma. My comment's ok.
Why make up a random hobby when you’re interested in what you’re working on
When’s the @garyvee collab Alex?
Love the video but please don’t put ‘and’ after a comma. Sincerely, England.
Edit: Unless you’ve been to Oxford, of course.
i love your videos and lessons, but what is up with the nose thing? genuine curiousity.
, i know how to expell the cognitive dissonance that most dont….and therefore- keep it movin!
noice
Any guy who mastered entrance exams as you did surely used the word “effect” incorrectly purposely to increase engagement. Well done. If not, your copywriter should be at least linguistically competent. Affect, verb, effects usually predicate.
First
The fact that he has muscles determines that is a lie. Isn't strength training a hobby?
Is brushing your teeth and bathing a hobby?
Finally, a sensible, American-ized, achievement oriented, alternative to obsolete Stoicism. Which has become a refuge (excuse) for losers.
I say ancient Stoicism is "obsolete" because our Founding Fathers created a New, superior way of living.
Isn't lifting/gyming a hobby?
I need this work ethic. I like working (my own pursuits) but getting to work is a hurdle
Anywhere you turn you will just bump into yourself. There's no hurdles outside the ones you set for yourself.
I like his videos full stop but dot dot dot I apostrophe m not crazy about the whole saying punctuation out load thing full stop.
Actually comma his hobby is pronouncing punctuation period
This type of person has no end goals.
They work insanely so they can show off how insanely they work.
It becomes their personality.
Majority of these types die by massive heart attacks fairly young.
While everyone around them says “How good of shape they were in.”
You’re uninformed about who Alex is,
, & that’s okay.
😂
You’re just lazy comma and that’s OK
This is absolutely stupid! This guy is fooling a lot of people.
