    The first time I took a taxi in Korea was literally at midnight, like 3AM or something. I was heading home by bus after hanging out with friends, but I got out at the wrong stop and was lowkey panicking, when I realised... this is Korea... there are taxis everywhere... I saw one and waved to him. He stopped and I nervously said where I needed to go, but he was super nice and made me feel comfortable. In the end, I made it home safely and was able to catch my flight, which was just in a few hours. Thank you, taxi driver!

    There is a significant mistake in the video. 우회전 is right turn, not left.

    Need a part two where you show how you pay for the taxi. Super helpful though! Thank you!

      There's a card reader where you would insert card payments between the front seats, or pay in cash to the driver.

    Could somebody help me please?
    When I looked up "left turn" in a translator it said "좌회전"
    "우화전" was the "right turn" according to it.
    So... what is correct?

    I fear going on taxis. The only time I had to use a taxi alone was the worst experience. The driver was angry so I was left stranded in another location at night even though I gave the address to the driver written out on paper as well as the address on my ARC. Luckily I was able to charge my phone at a local CU and load up Naver maps to show me where to go. I was able to walk 30 minutes to my apartment. All other times, when I rode with friends, the drivers were friendly especially when I spoke Korean. 😅

    세워주세요…doesn’t that mean please stand up? Is this just a phrase for riding in a taxi? Why not 여기서 그많해주세요 Please stop here.

    • @katie1956
      @katie1956 Год назад +4

      The verb 세우다 does mean “to raise” or “to make something stand up”, but 세워주세요 is a common phrase that is always used for politely asking the driver to stop. It doesn’t have the same meaning as the dictionary form. 그만해주세요 just means “please stop” and doesn’t specify what the person should stop doing. I hope this helps :)
