Refusing to go to a destination even though it's only 30 mins away to a metro station, or when the destination is unknown to them (means not within their comfort range), and they don't speak English. I don't know what these taxis are for when they won't go here and won't go there.

On your video there is pay to the driver option but can you get there without having your credit card information already in your Kakao taxi account? Yes, you’ll need Korean phone number. They will call you when they’re picking you up. Also, it needed for the confirmation code when you make an account for KakaoT.

I am in Incheon right now trying to use Kakao T. There is no option to pay the driver. Only options are Kakao T Point or Credit/Debit Card. We do not have a Korean credit card, so we cannot use the app.
If you use Kakao T, is it possible to pay for the trip upfront before the taxi turns up? Just trying to avoid the situation when the taxi wants to charge you significantly more than the indicative price on the app.
Unfortunately, you can't because drivers need to use the meter to charge you. To be cautious, keep checking the meter and compare the price on the meter and the app once you arrive. :) If something helps, contact kakao T through the app. Hope this helps!

In the Kakao app, there is a choice for a van or bigger vehicle. I hope that helps.

Jumbotaxi - Starex maximum 6Pax
Sprinter maximum 12Pax
Large options are from 6 to 13 people :)
Medium is just a sedan.
