Man, that bit at 7:45 is brilliant.
That casually slipped in, insanely impressive synth bass rundown that just makes Michael League go 'Whoa, where did that come from?!' Awesome. Sums up Snarky Puppy for me. Incredible musicians with so much love for the music and so much appreciation of the other musicians. It's a beautiful thing.

The fade out was so well executed the only way i could really tell it was done live was the fact the guitars never changed their level. A very chilling performance in my opinion.

  • @PenguinMcDuck

Something really coincidental and awesome just happened a few moments ago as I was walking out of my car while listening to this song. The first melody had just started playing for a bar or so after the rhythm section intro, and a car alarm from my neighbourhood just went "yee-oh yee-oh yee-oh yee-oh". Guess what? "Yee" on the beat, "-oh" on the offbeat. Exactly in time!! I stopped and checked the timing for a whole minute outside my house, thinking the tempi might deviate soon, but nope, the total synchronization just kept up until right just now someone (presumably the car owner) switched off the alarm. Damn man. If only my phone battery was charged this morning... I would've recorded this and shared it!! :D

You can hear the feintest foreshadowing of Lingus in this track, yet another layer on top of the many that already exist in this track. What a band!

Thank you!... when the muted trumpet comes in at the beginning of the build-up... I honestly feel like crying and that section was amazingly set-up by the guitar and piano counter-melodies. Harmonies on the organ, in that final section....uuurrrgghhhhh Pore-Raising-Amazing music!

Usually in the comments, I see so many haters with 'something' to say, but such good music could inspire NOTHING negative. Snarky Puppy; one of the best things to happen to 2013!

I've only recently (well, in the last 12 months) got into Snarky Puppy. I love the fact there is a kind of rotating cast and like so many late converts came to them via the Lingus vid that has so many hits on RUclips. Because of that, I was only aware of the material with Larnell Lewis on drums, but I have to say I'm loving Sput Searights work on this. I've seen a version of Binky with Larnell behind the kit on the Dunlop Sessions and I have to say I prefer this. Sput brings a different vibe to the song. I love how they both bring a different interpretation to Snarky Puppy and yet it is still definitely Snarky Puppy.
    I'm rambling, mi gusta.

I found out about you just today... I heard the music from a van. A bunch of people at the laundromat were waiting up and the music was going on in the van... I was waiting for some chips just by them and could hear the music and i really liked it, enough so that i had to go ask the man in the van about you. And there i am listening to this absolutely beautiful and amazing music. It's a peaceful beep, really enjoy it. Thank you all for this masterpiece.... keep it up... :o)

4:55 to 6.50 is the nicest passage ever. i feel like it should have exploded from that point though, more drums, strong piano and guitar riff with all the horns still and a trumpet solo. built up so well then ended just when i thought it'd go bigger
