Metal head for 45 years. Yes, I'm 60. This may be my number 1 banger of all time. The Egyptian , impending doom, phyrgian dominant vibe..... Great live too.
Volbeat is that old-school formula of heavy beats, pleasing melodies, amazing vocals, and lyrics that make you go, "Wait... what's this song about??". Not an easy combination to master, but they nail it every time.
@@claudiugabriel3268 For real! Every day there are new and dumber restrictions on things and people wanting to go back and rewrite history to better suit their idea of what happened or just full on ignore science and spout nonsense. Fucking weird times, man.
Out of the 1.9 million times this song has been played...I can say I played it 100,000 times. I can't stop listening to this song. Everything about this song is perfect!!!
Bro......... I'm the same way....... I've never listened to a song so much in such a short period of time. I will literally have this song looped everyday for all my workouts. This song inspires me, motivates me, and gets me so pumped for life!!!!!!! Perfect song for sure 🙏🏼 let's kill it team!!!!!!
Volbeat is definitely the best band nobody has ever heard. I saw Volbeat live in February of 2022, at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio.. Best concert I ever been to. Michael is best combination of a lead singer, guitarist, and lyricist. His voice is absolutely incredible. I can't wait to see them live again someday.
Wow you did it again! I Feel like I'm back in the 90's! a metal hymn so sweet and pure! Amazing tune, extraordinary vocals. You guys rock, damn. Big love Steve!🤘🤩
Def Leppard really? I mean it reminds more of any other metal band, but DL? Do they have any songs that are so dark and downtuned as this? To me DL has always been a radio rock band.
@@herbertwest9626 Their radio hits are radio rock, yes, but their albums are full of so much great stuff that most non- or casual fans have never heard. Pyromania is a great one to listen to the non-radio ones. This song reminds of stuff from there and the Retro-Active album.
@@AimingWanderously Yes, you're right. Pyromania is a good album. But the next one (Hysteria I think it's called) was absolutely unlistenable to me. And that's when I stopped caring about what they do. Even the first two albums (I forgot the titles, it was 40 years ago) are OK albums. Not really my music, but still OK. What I wanted to say is that this particular song here has a lot of influence from the heavier stuff like Judas Priest or even Metallica. I heard a few Volbeat songs that even have riffs like Slayer. Not as fast and brutal, but with that dark basic mood.
@@herbertwest9626 I get Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, and even Def Leppard, The Killers, and Taylor Swift (Black Rose, for instance) in some of their songs. You can tell Volbeat listens to more than just heavy metal themselves, and their music reflects a lot of styles.
Just finished listening to the entire album and I dont think I've ever heard anything like it. The range of sounds and speeds and styles is amazing......and it all manages to mesh together PERFECTLY! How this band can play songs like Shotgun Blues and Becoming to Domino and Step Into Light is Amazing! You really need to listen to this album 4/5 times to truly and fully absorb it. Great Album!!!!!
Volbeat is my absolute favourite I grew up on Metallica, Queensryche, Alice in Chains and Pantera to name a few and I am getting ready to see these guys for the first time and I am giddy like its my first concert!
All I can say is what a freaking good album, the production is top notch and there's something in there for everyone. Very powerful in general, an this song as the opener is perfect.
Starker Sound, einzigartige Stimme.
@@markcraig4036 Sumerian mythology doesn't have much to do with Sitchin's theories. Annunaki is a broader subject than one might think. In the mythology of Mesopotamia/Sumeria they are the gods of the underworld. Then there's the biblical story (in the Dead Sea Scrolls or Enochian writings) of the "sons of God", supposed to be angels, who came to earth and took human wives. Some writers refer to them as Annunaki, though the name is never mentioned in the texts. And then there's Zecharia Sitchin, who saw the Annunaki as extraterrestrials. Which is of course speculative literature like Erich von Danicken. I still don't see anything about Annunaki in the lyrics of the song.
@@herbertwest9626 Enlil is mentioned by name. I note that fm what I read in ZS books. For all we think we know about this planet and it's history, they could b fm another planet. So much of perceived history is being rediscovered and rewritten. Like why does man have a very long history of desire for gold. Ya cannot eat it. And the process of extraction/processes wouldn't b of interest unless someone or something got the ball rolling. Early man needed food, shelter, clothing, weapons, tools. Not gold except for finding bits in some river or cave. So why?
