This is only 49 keys though right? So it's actually just a hare bigger than a portable 37 key like the JDXi or microkorg kinda thing. It looks super beefy though and sounds amazing. I feel like 4 octaves is plenty for a synth though. 3 is definitely good if it has a good sequencer.
@@infn8loopmusic yes 49 keys - I have the minilogue as well and that extra octave surprisingly makes a way bigger difference than I thought it would in terms of “playability”!
I’d rather have a Super Gemini with bi-timbral capabilities, better keyboard and extra octave. It can be as glassy or gritty as you want, just more flexible with it.
Thank you! tbh, I mostly have been learning things by ear, trial and error, and then looking up chords if I can't figure something out on my own. I have a solid background in other instruments, I just never "learned" how to play keys properly
Lol. I have a moog matriarch, digitone, summit and I had an ob6. Trust me, it doesn't. It's really got something unique and immediate. Truly beautiful. My moog is the analog yin to this synths yang
Yet to hear this synth make an original sound though. Sounds good but not different enough to other subtractive synths in order to call it a 'sound design synth'.
For me, it’s more about the workflow & interface that cause me to work a certain way that I find more inspiring - I hope that makes sense! Thanks for watching :)
Sure but as an original electronic artist this synth doesn't appeal to me on the videos I've watched so far. When I saw sound design in your title I clicked but I didn't hear anything fresh in that respect. Fyi, I have vintage oberheims, Rolands, Korgs Yamahas, Ensoniqs, Buchla 200e, Eurorack etc . The Super Gemini seems like a more compelling synth given that it's essentially an homage to a CS-80 which are now unobtanium for underground artists due to the insane price inflation in the past 5 years. I never heard anyone with a CS-80 make anything that didn't sound like Vangelis, those synths are wasted and sit in a lot of commercial studios gathering dust. Super Gemini would offer something in that respect. A chance to create fresh sounds with the feel and timbre of a CS-80. At least I would veer well away from Vangelis pads!@@SlowHaste
Viewership only please .. no comments .. I don’t need a speech about your thoughts on the video .. I don’t even need to see your username. Nothing personal. In all seriousness, there’s a chapter marked “sound demo” at the end for you to skip over all of my babbling. Thanks for watching!
then buy one yourself and leave the guy alone, who is just sharing his impressions, and his PERSONAL impression. And to get upset because he did not get to what you wanted sooner? NOTHING PERSONAL?
It's the hybrids and unique digitals that are exciting these days. Glad you finally got your mitts on it and enjoy it so much. Sounds famous.
Thanks! I totally agree, there’s a whole lot of innovation going on and it’ll be exciting to see what comes in the next 5-10 years even
Incredible demo! Sounds so good
Thank you!
Ugh this sounds so good. If I were to ever get a full keyboard synth this one would be it.
I could totally see that for you!

I love the sound of this synth - a simple osc wave on this sounds so much nicer than the same sound on just about any other synth....
It truly is lovely!
What a siiiicccckkkk synth! Love the aesthetics and color too!
😎😎😎
New owner here too - desktop version. Barely had time with it but holy crãp it's wonderful
It really is!!
It’s unreal - it really does live up to the hype
Totally agree! Can’t wait to explore it more
I am a guitar player. Started on a synth kick a few years ago. Now I have a room full of them. Just ordered a UDO 6.
I hope you enjoy it!!!
Great video, thank you for the great demo at the end too!
Glad you enjoyed!!
Thank You
sometimes our hands get distracted by the revelation of an old chord in a completely new light
Yes to talking more about the aesthetics of synths 🫰🏻✨
I agree! It’s what drew me into this one in the first place if I’m being honest
Pretty tasty. This one (in blue too) has been on my list for a while!
I couldn’t recommend it enough !
Thank you for the review! Love the sounds you made
You’re very welcome!! I love the sounds too, the best part is how effortless they were to make :)
Super 6. Super 6 desktop. Moog One. And more. All Alex Hartmann industrial design. 😊 All my favorites are.
@@final_mile_music9713 I love his work!!
Perfect timing, I just got the desktop version.
Perfect timing indeed!! Curious to hear what you make of it once you get acclimated
love it!
🤠
the reeling by passion pit was brought to mind
I’ll have to give that a listen!
I play that every time I’m in perfect circuit. So jealous. The Super 6 was most definitely the belle of the ball when I first saw it at NAMM.
It’s really lovely, I’m enjoying it more the more time I spend with it, too. I’m jealous you get to visit PC so easily!
@@SlowHaste It’s definitely a good spot but they take all of my money lol
Why are people jealous of objects and what others get to do? Envious maybe, not jealous.
@@X22GJP this was definitely a playful jealously not a serious one. I love seeing artists find new sources of inspiration :)
Cool review of this synth. I’d consider getting if I could afford it. If you ever get a chance to visit Perfect Circuit, it’s a really awesome place.
Thanks a ton! I’ve really gotta plan a west coast trip and reserve a good chunk of a day to check it out :)
great work on the Super 6 ! BTW how are you learning keyboard, I need to do the same.

Still on my wishlist. How is your experience so far?
Still love it! I feel like I’ll never really need another synth, at least another analogue-style one
Thanks for your reply @@SlowHaste
Can you tempo synch LFO 2? Or the envelopes?
Lovely Demo! Jockstrap - Concrete Over Water at 10:45 ? :) Sounds ace!
Ayyyy thank you!! Yes my very plucked-out ear-trained version of it hahah. I saw them live last week and it was a blast
What v a beauty!!!!
Ain’t it?!
Does it do splits, etc?
Yep, you can crossfade the keybed between the two oscillators at a point determined by the fader knob!
It sounds like the Minecraft ambient music around 9:44
Oooh I’ve always heard people speak highly of the music in minecraft but I’ve never played - gotta give it a listen
Sounds like every other synth out there to me

That's fair if that's how ya feel! It personally stands out to me and I'm very happy with my choice
@@SlowHaste maybe it's the good old RUclips algo.
Besides. We know the s6 is capable of some very unexpected patches
…in the same way all cars get you from A to B, just depends on what you value. Clearly not sound in your case, lol
At $2,700 George can dent his own Super 6 😆
Hahaha you may be onto something
Is it okay if i sample 8:11 ?
Sure! It’s chords to the Pinegrove song “Need 2”
👌For me the gemini?

This is why people search for keyboard demos with no talking. At 3:28 I had to stop the video and find my vomit bowl.
This isn’t a demo! Also, there’s a chapter marker titled “sound demo” at the end :)
Samples only please .. no talk .. we don't need your speech about when you got it .. we don't even need to see your face.

You're an enthousiate talker but the synth does not sound special to me. I'm sorry.
That's ok! There's something for everyone.
