I still remember my first flight at age 15 in 1978 on Wardair from Amsterdam to Vancouver. What an eye opener that was for me. Everyone drove a large car and so much space to park them. It was like arriving on a different planet. When we came home 8 weeks later, we thought our house had shrunk. My dad’s Skoda seemed very tiny too, lol.
Really sweet landing by the pilots coming into YYC and nicely captured! Been a frequent passenger on the 777-300ER (mostly EVA) over the years. A nice ride.
As someone who also live in a KLM destination with mostly 787-9 and occasionally 777-200s, I feel you and can't wait to spot the large 777-300ERs. Hopefully next time they'll send the Orange Pride.
I hope you get a chance to do a trip report on KLM! The food and onboard service is really good. Also, Vancouver did get to see their 777-300ER this week, which I saw as well! I flew on Vancouver-Amsterdam on the A330-200/-300 in November and really enjoyed it.
Great catch. It’s big plane! I have a soft spot for KLM. My first flight ever was on a KLM 747(probably a -200) in 1985; YMX-AMS (when YMX was a relatively new passenger airport). It was also our eldest daughter’s first flight ever, but she was only 6 weeks old.
Probably the -200 yes. KLM operated the -200 (officially) until they bought their -400M’s. The -300, were offically stretched retrofitted upperdeck’s -200’s.
When I flew into Calgary last August I also noticed a KLM 777 at a gate. Don't know what variant but it definitely stood out on the tarmac with its celeste-like blue color scheme. When visiting lake Louise a couple of days into my trip I felt like I was in the Netherlands; Dutch vacationers everywhere.
It’s also a popular route to get us to other places! I have family in NE of England and it’s cheaper for me to fly KLM to Amsterdam then KLM to Newcastle than other airlines into UK from Calgary !
Hardly an improvement. Never understood the need for changing corporate designs like that, especially if the current design already is iconic. If they want to throw away money they might as well have it raffled it off in a lottery among the passengers ..... that actually might have brought in more additional passengers than any optical styling changes could ever do.
Amazing catch! What a cool swap! Always impressive to see what destinations KLM is able to fill a 777-300ER to...

That landing was _buttery_ smooth 🤤
What a beauty! Loved that elegant take off.
Cool yes.Along with the now retired MD11. So were the Wardair 747's,AC L1011,CP 47's and DC 10's that once graced YYC.
Classy camera work! 👍Classy plane!☺
Love your videos! Thank you for the great content!
Fantastic video mate! Great catch! Liked!
Flying for the first time in a year tomorrow! Going from Halifax to fort myers through Toronto with westjet. Can’t wait!

Great video!
I have always loved plane spotting, just never found the time to, let alone finding a good vantage point
Very nice catch! Sweet spot for the taxi and departure clips, is this a public one?
Thanks! They are!
Number 1 plan
what spot did you catch the landing at
3 days straight now ,777 i guess lots of passengers from YYC going to Amsterdam
Not sure if it gets to do with the 7 hrs delay last Thursday due to the mid-way return to Amsterdam.
@@davewong4834 That might be possible, they might be playing catch up

5:19 Godly GE90's on take off
I want to write a comment to support the channel but I don't know what to write :(
I'll just say, thanks for your great content mate!
KLM: We need to update our livery. Ideas?
Designer: We add a swoosh at the front.
KLM: Approved. Next!
Way better idea than the ugly new Air Canada colors.
At least they didn't pull an Aer Lingus

@@AlexPraglowskiAviationfoul but I’ll give it to you
They swapped the planes for the flight to aruba. The B777 got swapped for A330. So now you guys get the B777 and we get the A330.
Alex, you do a great job, giving us a true scale of this beast.
Would they fly with four pilots?
This cockpit crew consists of two pilots.
I remember the days when KLM use to run their MD-11’s to Calgary 😭
There is another one today
