While I agree with many of Dr. Chetan's points, I have some disagreements. In India, social status is important, and people often judge others based on their appearance, including the clothes they wear. Not ironing clothes can lead to negative judgments and affect one's perceived status. GDP measures economic activity, essentially capturing that one person's spending is another person's income. If we consume less, earnings decrease, which can perpetuate poverty. This creates a dilemma for those of us who want to save the planet: do we follow the Western model of consumption to achieve wealth, but at the cost of environmental degradation? The best course of action would be to invest more in technological advancements, particularly in making appliances increasingly energy-efficient. Additionally, we should explore asteroid and planetary mining to source raw materials from other celestial bodies, reducing the need to extract resources from Earth.

He should also talk about reducing the population and conciously having kids. Most of the quantifiable damage is done by the rich And the wealthy. And also the biggest contribution to the damage is because of the slaughtering of animals for meat . These are far bigger and quantifiable problems than switching off light bulbs when not in use

Keep skepticism when you listen to this podcast. In india less than 25% of energy is used by households, no common man is capable of changing anything. I feel sad for his campaign, we want our nation to be energy efficient and more towards green energy combining with Nuclear. A developed nation needs excess energy, no wealthy people can live on solar light or thinking ways to save energy. India is a growing economic nation, keeping sustainability in mind is what India should prevail and not by reducing consumption. I urge govt to invest more in clean nuclear energy.

There are only two ways to stop climate change.
One : Decrease the per capita consumption ( not talking about basic human needs and education but excessive consumption and aspiration to have an American like consuming lifestyle)
Two : Stop meat and Dairy consumption, and turn Vegan because the loss of Biodiversity, water and Forests is primarily due to agriculture done for feeding cattle so that they can be slaughtered and consumed by humans (same for fish and fishing).
And reducing consumption is not done forcefully or morally like eating meat is bad and immoral or even saying that eating meat is good because my religious book / practices (eg Navratri) says so. Instead real wisdom literature and self knowledge about why should I consume and what purpose/end goal? What is the kind of satisfaction I am trying to gain through consumption, have I not done this earlier as well, have I been satisfied, probably never?
Please understand that the Inner climate of man is not well, indicator the state of the world and need for consumption to FULFILL life, so that is why the outside climate is also not well.
Please listen to people like Acharya Prashant , few people speak more factually, easily and boldly on Climate Change and Animal-Human Welfare

Solar Energy is the worst kind of energy currently.
All it's supply chain is controlled by China
Takes inumerable amount of processing which again produces a lot of toxic gases and liquid waste
    Has the least power/land area
Is highly unreliable because of weather change and is heavily dependent upon battery industry at night, Battery industry itself is probably worse than solar
And solar panels need to be changed every few months practically ensuring a steady mining of semi conductors again and steady flow of wealth to china.
We need The hypothesized Thoriam nuclear plants in India blueprint presented by Homi Bhaba not modern day propaganda of china of stupid ass Solar energy.

Instead we should go nuclear for our energy needs, and invest in fusion for the future.
If earth is not sufficient for our future generations go and become Multi planetary species.
Innovate solution, control the energy. It's just not the consumers responsibility.
