Took me forever to find out what bird this was, always hearing them in my yard. Definitely the coolest bird song I've ever heard :)
Cassandra Where do u hear this bird? l do and Im in California. l dont hear often. Wonder how common it is here.
Cassandra Research the bird and view videos of its habits. You will learn to love it least of all birds likely. Would love to see them critically endangered, or gone. About as welcome as malaria bearing mosquitos.
Kristin Valadez Hopefully not common. It is the cause of the endangerment of numerous species of songbirds due to its sickening lifestyle.
Other than my hummingbirds, my brown headed cowbird is my favorite feathered friend this year. I just found out what it was. I think they have the coolest sound ever! He's relatively friendly and fun to watch. I've never had one before. I hope he finds a mate and they make my yard their summer migrate home!!
@@SniperLogic you are damaged
I thought my pool had a water leaking issue. After that proved negative, a google search for birds that sound like water dripping brought me here for the answer to my perplexity. Thanks!
He's saying: "Welcome to the Orb retinal eye scanning station. Your retina has been rejected."
Sounds a little like the "plinking" of water. Cool. :)
I found a baby one of these a year ago. Still have him he's doing great . He is the love of my life. He sings all day. I think he sounds like a little robot and he's so smart . He's not caged he has free range of my home he will not leave my side .
Heard two in my yard today. Googled "bird with call that sounds like a water droplet" and this was the first video result! Thank you!
Me too! Very helpful.
Me too
Me too! Beautiful bird!
Same
This totally sounds like a pokemon.
I heard one of these today for the first time! Sounds like Mario leveling up on regular Nintendo! Such a cool bird song!
Ryan Maly But for sure, not a cool bird whatsoever. Has caused endangerment of numerous more desirable songbirds due to being a lowly parasite bird. Best to euthanize them on site.
These have the coolest sound... reminds me of R2-D2.
R.D. Dragon I said the samething, when I was in central park feeding them.
R.D. Dragon Cool sounds, shitty citizens of the bird kingdom. Possess all the habits typically despised among human populations. Good cowbirds are deceased cow birds.
I loved hearing these guys' calls growing up. The first part always reminded me of dripping water.
Literally heard this outside and i had to google “bird sound drip drip drip”
sounds like your bird has an error, try restarting it
Lol like water dripping
May take a cowbird 2 years to learn it's song. Low notes from left side of throat. High notes from right
OCHSAOShop If I can find one in school he will not see two years. Will receive much needed euthanizing.
I fell asleep while hunting and woke up the sound of the bird and I thought I was still dreaming. This recording is good but hearing it in the woods it sounds amazing.
So glad I found this! I’ve been hearing this call for many many years and I loved the bubbling brook sound it made but I was never able to see the source until today they were on the power lines.
Love these birds! 😄
The beautiful liquid call of the cowbird is mesmerizing.
This 10 year old video answered my question within 5 seconds. I googled “bird that sounds like water”! Internet is amazing
earlier today my brother and I were in the backyard and one of these swooped down and made that weird noise right over our heads 😂 we were both ducking down like we saw a dinosaur 🤭
Sounds so cool I hear them all the time in my yard
their sounds are so sweet!!!
Their behavior is the worst of the worst.Read about them and why they are a "brood parasite."
After this new bird song was heard in our yard I spent a week trying to find out what it was!
This is the first year I've ever heard this bird. Finally was able to spot it one day so I could look it up. Love its call.
Not a bad call but the bird's behavior is awful compared to good songbirds.
I jsut heard this bird in the yard and I was amazed by the sound it made
Had a whole flock of these at my house last summer. Before that, I had never seen one. I love the distinct gargle sound they make.
I hear these all of the time outside of my window in the morning :) I love it!
It sounds like they have to shake whatever liquid is in their stomach to start their call lol. I'm glad I could find the different bird calls. I see these birds all the time in my grandma's yard, and wanted to know more about them.
How appropriate that there is a cow in the background!
Check out their nesting habits (or lack thereof). Then sight in your pellet guns...
bird sounds like a dewdrop turning digital
This is my favorite bird! i'd love to hear one in the wild some day
It doesn't seem like FB has been around for 12 years, but look at this post that keeps coming up with new comments.
This is the first spring out of 3 years, that I've heard these birds in our yard! The low "cluck cluck" was what caught my attention. I thought it was two different birds making the sounds - with that high pitch tweet right after the cluck. Beautiful birds too!
Never seen these before but there were two next to my deck just now and I had to come look up "birds that make water dripping noises." Was surprised it was so easy to find out what they were. Pretty cool tweet they have.
Haven't seen or heard them again since. Wouldn't have a way to do anything about them even if I did.
This is one beautiful
Sound
Literally just searched glitchy watery bird
Thank you! I could hear birds in the tree in my yard, making this exact sound, but they wouldn't come out of hiding behind the leaves, for me to get a look at them. Now I know what they are!
Omg~! Just moved to OKC and heard this thing, it sounds so cool~!
These are all in my backyard in West Texas. I was curious what they were too...sounds beautiful
Great capture!
Heard this in my yard this morning had to find out what it was thank you!
Amazing call!
That bird sounds like a heavily compressed MP3
I have tons of cowards in my area just never heard them talk until now. I have one in the trees somewhere and Googled this sound because I didn't know what it was. These are some cool sounding birds.
I love hearing it, I have one near my house!
Sapphire Garnet Kill it. Your other native songbirds will be grateful.
This was in my back yard a couple months ago
Once I heard a sound that sounded like a rock dropping into a well, I thought it could be this bird but it isn't. TRYING TO EXPLAIN THIS IN TEXT IS IMPOSSIBLE. But it was deeper single sounding, did not have any high tweeting in it. BaDoip is I guess as close to what I heard. Heard it 5 times then nothing. Saw nothing, interval was 1 min to 2 mins in between. Dunno what it was but my guess it is very rare as I have not heard it since. Listened to many recorded bird calls and none have sounded like what I heard. Anyone know what it is?
Might be American Bittern.
I had one of these pretty birds show up in my feeder for the first time this past weekend. So cool to now know what species it is and it's cool sound
So cool to hear, told my wife I’ll ask the LADY in my phone.Wild wacky things you do in RETIREMENT 😎👍♥️
These birds turned up at my house. I have never heard theses birds before
good quality
"Buffalo Is The New Buffalo" brought me here. :) 💕💕
I thought my phone was going off had a couple of them under my porch. That weird bloop bloop bloop noise they make had me thinking my phone was making noises
Just saw one on my tree today making the same call!
If you're here just to rant about the brood-parasitic behavior of this bird, *GET OUT OF HERE!* Just enjoy the beautiful sound!
On the contrary in here to shoot them should they approach any of my bird nests so learning this sound helps me identify them
Love their sound. Hate that they silence 220+ other species. That makes it harder to love their sound.
Reminds me of the alien sounds from Signs.
That sound is so calming
By the way,@Ryan O'Donnel, great catch.
sounds like a gen 4 pokemon
When you loose your rings on Sonic
you're the man! or woman! idk but I've been trying to identify this noise for a while. thanks!
One in my backyard
🌈
Now I know it is not an Nightingale in my British garden in exeter UK it is an Brown Headed Cow Bird.
Hi, Ryan! Funny. I was googling about the call I keep hearing in my back pasture and your video popped up. I figured it was a bird. This one has what sounds like the first part of the brown-headed cowbird and not the second part. It sounds like a “bloop” of water. Thoughts??
~Peter John
Just because they're nest parasites doesn't mean they don't have a purpose. I think they are beautiful little birds with a unique sound.
steph Watch the video of them killing bluebird chicks and tossing them from the nest and the beautiful song will lose its luster.
steph Yeah, their purpose is to drive 220 other native song birds to endangerment and the brink of extinction. A fine purpose.
Logic Snipe
Cowbirds are native my guy.
Wade Slovick I think he knows they are native. However, they have increased and spread because of urbanization. I kill them whenever I can
The greatest cause of decline and extinction is human intervention. It's always a mistake to apply human motivation and morals to animal behavior. You're not helping anything by killing cowbirds. The only species at risk are the ones already pushed to the brink by human activity. Humans need to stop pretending they are helping and just admit they like shooting birds for no reason.
It sounds Synthesized
I love how someone in the comments section saying he should've shot him. Well, research says that if one were to kill off a large portion of the Cowbird species, than more cowbirds will occupy the land scarce of cowbirds. I know people want to protect the native yet endangered song birds but interfering with environment by killing the cowbirds may have unintentionally negative consequences to the birds they're trying to protect. I'm curious are there any other animals that prey on cowbirds?
TheMostAwesomeMan242 it's already happened. After humans killed off all the buffalo, cowbirds inhabit all the places where they didn't before. That's why they have caused such decline in other song birds..
Kamikaze Warrior Productions Likely preyed on by hawks, falcons, the usual birds of prey. I prey on them as well at every opportunity. They can be elusive to kill but I do my dead level best when I spot one, especially the lowlife egg layer.
THAT AINT A BIRD THATS A POKEMON
This bird is corrupted mp3 file

veja minha foto no wiki aves antonio thomaz eu digo que é molothrus ater esta postado como chupim ninguem aceita ave norte americana vé lá e questiona!!
WHAT I HAVE BEEN HEARING MY WHOLE LIFE HAS BEEN A LIE ITS BEEN A BLACK CAPPED CHICKADEE FOLLOWED UP WITH THIS
Sounds like a bird on autotune.
Agree with Steph. They are kinda the jerks of the bird world, but they DO have their reason to be here, even if it's that beautiful song they provide us with!
Nurse Nut The main reason they’re here is they successfully parasitize and drive other native birds to extinction.Kill them let God sort them. Yes,the song is fine, but would you want it to be the ONLY song? The bird is working hard towards that end, on the backs of hundreds of other BENEFICIAL bird species. Not worth it.
This bird is the cause of huge decline and extinction in other song birds.
I believe you as I have seen them destroy the nests and kill young innocent chickadees, bluebirds and barn swallows. They do have a H2o gargling sound which helps 2 locate them and scare them off.
Cool sound....but they are known to kicknout birds of their nests and most of the eggs...
They are very violent birds but not stupid. Not putting out sunflower seeds on the ground helps keep them away.
I hate this
This is so bad
