      Cassandra Research the bird and view videos of its habits. You will learn to love it least of all birds likely. Would love to see them critically endangered, or gone. About as welcome as malaria bearing mosquitos.

      Kristin Valadez Hopefully not common. It is the cause of the endangerment of numerous species of songbirds due to its sickening lifestyle.

      Other than my hummingbirds, my brown headed cowbird is my favorite feathered friend this year. I just found out what it was. I think they have the coolest sound ever! He's relatively friendly and fun to watch. I've never had one before. I hope he finds a mate and they make my yard their summer migrate home!!

    Once I heard a sound that sounded like a rock dropping into a well, I thought it could be this bird but it isn't. TRYING TO EXPLAIN THIS IN TEXT IS IMPOSSIBLE. But it was deeper single sounding, did not have any high tweeting in it. BaDoip is I guess as close to what I heard. Heard it 5 times then nothing. Saw nothing, interval was 1 min to 2 mins in between. Dunno what it was but my guess it is very rare as I have not heard it since. Listened to many recorded bird calls and none have sounded like what I heard. Anyone know what it is?

      The greatest cause of decline and extinction is human intervention. It's always a mistake to apply human motivation and morals to animal behavior. You're not helping anything by killing cowbirds. The only species at risk are the ones already pushed to the brink by human activity. Humans need to stop pretending they are helping and just admit they like shooting birds for no reason.

    I love how someone in the comments section saying he should've shot him. Well, research says that if one were to kill off a large portion of the Cowbird species, than more cowbirds will occupy the land scarce of cowbirds. I know people want to protect the native yet endangered song birds but interfering with environment by killing the cowbirds may have unintentionally negative consequences to the birds they're trying to protect. I'm curious are there any other animals that prey on cowbirds?

    • @jkilla8124
      @jkilla8124 7 лет назад +2

      TheMostAwesomeMan242 it's already happened. After humans killed off all the buffalo, cowbirds inhabit all the places where they didn't before. That's why they have caused such decline in other song birds..

    • @SniperLogic
      @SniperLogic 6 лет назад +1

      Kamikaze Warrior Productions Likely preyed on by hawks, falcons, the usual birds of prey. I prey on them as well at every opportunity. They can be elusive to kill but I do my dead level best when I spot one, especially the lowlife egg layer.
