A rainbow-coloured outfit probably wouldn't have been as visually distinct or fit well in a single-character's aesthetic, since too many colors can make a design look messy. Y'know, the thought had drifted in my mind for a while, but now that I know of Harmageddon's existence, it makes me crave a Street Fighter of the past even more. The days when Gen was a young assassin, when Gouken and Akuma were the young Shotos just getting going, when Harmageddon was at the peak of her career, when Oro was in his prime. Street Fighter has so many "Old Masters" now that it makes me want to see them all in their prime, especially since the story mode for that hypothetical game could let us better examine the characters that followed in their footsteps.

Amazing Episode about my All-Time favorite character in this universe. However, you missed something when it comes to R. Mika's presentation and her outfit. It was actually inspired by Old Joshi Wrestling in Japan. Female Joshi Wrestlers wore outfits like this all the time and it was so they would be remembered as well as because it was flashy. This is what Capcom used for their inspiration of Mika.

R. Mika and the recent announcement of Alex are the main reason I'm gonna buy SFV and try to get good at a Street Fighter game for the first time since 3rd Strike. I can't wait for the game to come out next year.

Don't worry, I don't know much about wrestling either! But Street Fighter 5 is looking more and more exciting with every character they confirm will be in it! And Mika and Yamato Nadeshiko are definitely the characters in the most excited for! Especially since Mika is my favorite character to play as in the Street Fighter 3 games! Her level of enthusiasm for something other than being the strongest in the world is extremely refreshing for this series!

What's interesting to know that in Street Fighter V's cinematic story, R.Mika is shown in a tag-team match with Zangief. Also, in another part of the story, Karin and a few of her guests are seen watching that very match on a giant screen in her estate.
alternative costumes have been announced for mika and zangeif. and both of them are red and say "heat it up" on the side. soooooo possible tag team maybe?

Good video man. I was sure that Mika was half japanese half american, but couldn't find any source. Well, it's the world warriors, it's possible that one of her grandparents is not from Japan.
+BananaPancake I didn't see any info about her being American when i was doing my research, though there are a few other characters in this series who are half Japanese. Ken is the most obvious one, Sean is half Japanese and half Brazilian, etc
R Mika was inspired by All Japan Womens wrestling. Which was by far the most successful joshi puroresu (female pro wrestling) promotion in the world as well as being the 1st of its kind in Japan. With it, women were able to wrestle be regarded and be as popular as the male promotions. It was a craze in the 80s in Japan. Cant say which wrestler specifically inspired Mika, but considering she has a tag team partner and the crush gals (chigusa and lioness asuka) were hella popular at the time she was designed at, i cant help but see a correlation
Me and my stepmom sat down to play our brand new Street Fighter and we were playing with random and she got rainbow mika. Her first impressions were a female wrestler showing off alot of skin yelling "I'll kick your ass!" You probably knew how she felt about that lol.
R Mika does have one more character connection. if the UDON comcs are anything to go by, El Fuerte is a huge fan of her, even sporting Mika's image on his cooking attire and collectible merch.
They should do a spin off game "Street Fighter Wrestlers." It focuses just on the various wrestler characters and they fight in the ring. Maybe even add in Mike Hagar for the fun of it.
Mika's natural eye color is blue, thats why her outfit is blue and since her eye color is the reason why she wears that color, so thats why her eye color changes when she wears an different outfit it's just her eye color changing, the other outfits aren't canon anyway
Great video, but mika's eye color change is due to original sprite just being a limited pallete color swap, her eyes share the same shades of color as her clothes, so when the clothes change, her eyes change along with it. In Street fighter 5, her eyes stay blue regardless what color you pick. It like how some characters boots or belt share skin tones, so when there skin changes color, the boots and belt or object that share with it will change the same. This happens a lot in 16 bit games + capcom CPS2 games, where the colors are limited to 15 colors + 1 clear color per sprite.

What's interesting to know that in Street Fighter V's cinematic story, R.Mika is shown in a tag-team match with Zangief. Also, in another part of the story, Karin and a few of her guests are seen watching that very match on a giant screen in her estate.

+BananaPancake I didn't see any info about her being American when i was doing my research, though there are a few other characters in this series who are half Japanese. Ken is the most obvious one, Sean is half Japanese and half Brazilian, etc
R Mika was inspired by All Japan Womens wrestling. Which was by far the most successful joshi puroresu (female pro wrestling) promotion in the world as well as being the 1st of its kind in Japan. With it, women were able to wrestle be regarded and be as popular as the male promotions. It was a craze in the 80s in Japan. Cant say which wrestler specifically inspired Mika, but considering she has a tag team partner and the crush gals (chigusa and lioness asuka) were hella popular at the time she was designed at, i cant help but see a correlation

Mika's natural eye color is blue, thats why her outfit is blue and since her eye color is the reason why she wears that color, so thats why her eye color changes when she wears an different outfit it's just her eye color changing, the other outfits aren't canon anyway
Great video, but mika's eye color change is due to original sprite just being a limited pallete color swap, her eyes share the same shades of color as her clothes, so when the clothes change, her eyes change along with it. In Street fighter 5, her eyes stay blue regardless what color you pick.
It like how some characters boots or belt share skin tones, so when there skin changes color, the boots and belt or object that share with it will change the same.
This happens a lot in 16 bit games + capcom CPS2 games, where the colors are limited to 15 colors + 1 clear color per sprite.
